Secret Cutting (2000 TV Movie)
1/10
A movie of bad taste.
2 June 2000
If it was supposed to be a campy movie, it would have been a 10. "Dawn" had one eyebrow in the surprised position and the other eyebrow in the normal position (i think it was intentional, a nurse at the end had the same thing) throughout the whole movie, which looked like it was supposed to make her look like she was upset. It was totally exaggerated and distracting, and made her acting unbelievable. Actually I didn't belive any of the actors, except for Dawn's mom, who was a "seemingly sane, but really crazy on the inside mom" character, and oh my god did i hate her (but that's ok, i think she was supposed to be not liked). I think the writer read the book "cutting" (about self-mutilation, i forgot the author's name) and tried too hard at covering all the subject matter. The movie would've been a lot better if there had been more effort in developing believable characters, but i know better than to expect that from a made for tv movie. You really have to watch the movie to understand it's weirdness.
