A BETTER WEREWOLF MOVIE THAN THE CRITICS SAY
19 June 2004
AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS is capably directed by ANTHONY WALLER. The Director manages to keep the dark scenes visible in the film which is not easy to do. TOM EVERETT SCOTT as Andy McDERMOTT and his buddy Brad are vacationing in Paris France and decide to go bungee jumping off the eiffel tower which is illegal and not a good idea. There they meet Julie DELPY as Serafine Pigot who is about to jump from the Eiffel tower. Andy saves Serafine but bumps his head. Later they find Serafines address and go to her house. They are not given a warm reception but are invited to a werewolf bar. At the bar werewolves attack and Brad is killed. Andy is bitten and serafine who has locked herself in the basement tells Andy he will become a werewolf. JULIE DELPY is a really great actress and has no trouble with her role. The love affair between Andy and Serafine is believable. In the inevitable showdown try to think of the battle as a training exercise between American and French intelligence agents that is nonviolent. I liked AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON better than this sequel but I still gave the movie a 10 out of 10. Maybe AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN BEIJING is next in the trilogy
