Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know what to think of this one but it's not hard to guess the similarities of "Nightmare on Elm St". It could have been a much better film if it would have given up the Freddy Krugar image. The concept of a convicted killer on death row that dies and comes back to life with an even bigger need to kill. Only he did not appear in dreams, insted he ended up stalking his long gone brother and anyone the brother knows who gets in his way. And after the Sandman gets what he wants it's like "ok..... that's it, it's over now." The only thing different that had a slightly different twist was the black voodoo blind man who comes to the Sandmans aid. The lullabye was kinda creepy and the way he talked when he said it was also as creepy. But I didn't understand it when the drunk father would come in his bedroom to beat him the boy wouldn't even move all you saw was his terrifying face, the fathers "shadows" as he beat him and the father walking away. I also did not understand where his "brother" was during this time and why wasen't he beaten? This movie left alot of holes in it and I just couldn't figure it out. And after seeing the ending I wander why there wasen't a sequel, not that it would matter but like most slasher movies they usually do, this one just ended with the first movie and that was it.
