While Hugh Jackman retired as Wolverine in the 2017 film Logan, he was confirmed to reprise his iconic role in the first X-Men film in the MCU i.e. Deadpool and Wolverine. The character has been one of the most popular X-Men characters in the comics, made more popular by Jackman’s seventeen-year tenure in the Fox Studios X-Men franchise.
Wolverine is famously known for his loner personality. But the immortal regenerative superhero has fathered a number of kids across the multiverse. He reportedly has ten kids alone in the main continuity in the Marvel universe Earth-616. And those children have many times been with other superheroes, making his spawns much more powerful. Here are three who could be introduced in the MCU after Hugh Jackman’s exit after the third Deadpool film (via The Empire Podcast).
3. James Hudson Jr. a.k.a Ultimate Wolverine James Hudson Jr. in Ultimate End Vol.

‘Tis the season of gift giving, but when it comes to books, the choices can be overwhelming. This year has unleashed an endless selection of great options to fill those bookshelves, from fiction to graphic novels to nonfiction. Where do you even begin, you might be wondering?
These 13 books are excellent gifts for you or the horror-loving reader in your life.
Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives by Adam Cesare
Quinn, Rust, and Cole are still reeling from their traumas of surviving the Kettle Springs massacre when it seems to be starting anew. It’s a breakneck slasher sequel that doesn’t waste any time getting to the action and suspense. Cesare understands slashers- and, more importantly, slasher sequels- and crafts a strong narrative around the hardened survivors from the first novel. In true slasher sequel style, the body count is higher along with the brutal deaths that hurt.

Many comic book readers are already familiar with writer Marjorie Liu and artist Sana Takeda from their creative collaborations on Monstress and X-23, and now the creative duo are bringing their talents together once again for the new graphic novel The Night Eaters: She Eats The Night. The first graphic novel in a new trilogy, The Night Eaters: She Eats The Night is now available from Abrams ComicArts, and we caught up with Marjorie Liu (who was recently featured on two panels at New York Comic-Con) in a new Q&a feature to discuss exploring the complex dynamics between immigrant parents and their children, writing The Night Eaters: She Eats the Night during a creative burst in the midst of the pandemic, what readers can expect from the next two installments of The Night Eaters trilogy, and continuing to team up with artist Sana Takeda to help bring this new story to life!

Humble Bundle is a great way to add some bulk to your digital comics (and games) collection while also doing some good in the world. They offer pay-what-you-want deals that let you divert however much of your purchase you want to charity, and if you spend at certain levels, you get more stuff. Since its inception, they’ve had bundles covering everything from G.I. Joe and Transformers comics to kids books or Top Shelf art books.
The latest bundle covers almost $1600 worth of collected editions from Image Comics, with proceeds being sent to two outstanding charities: the Binc Foundation, the nonprofit helping independent bookstores weather the Covid-related economic downturn; and the Hero Initiative, a nonprofit that helps provide a safety net to comic creators in need. But the question that might jump to mind for an overwhelmed reader is “Is this bundle actually a deal?”
The answer is undoubtedly yes,...

The world may be upside down, but the Hugo Awards are forever! The Hugos are the longest-running fan-voted awards in the genres of science fiction and fantasy, first bring presented in 1953. The awards are generally given out during the World Science Fiction Convention, which is in a different host city every year. Sadly, the 78th Worldcon, aka CoNZealand, set to take place in (you guessed it) New Zealand, will have to be virtual this year. The Hugo ceremony will therefore also take place online.
Today, CoNZealand announced the finalists for this year’s Hugos, voted on by 1,584 people, who submitted 27,033 nominations. Those who were members of last year’s Worldcon, An Irish Worldcon, and members of this year’s Worldcon, CoNZealand, were eligible to vote, however, only CoNZealand members will be able to vote on the final ballot and choose the winners. You can still purchase a Supporting Membership on...

It's a great time to be a fan of fantasy literature, as the genre makes more space for epics told outside of the western perspective.
While I love a good epic fantasy read where an unassuming, usually male, usually white farmboy learns of his great destiny to save the world, there are so many fantasy stories that exist outside of that framework.
One of my favorite ways to see fantasy genre tropes subverted is by taking the usual feudal European-like setting of the "traditional" epic fantasy saga and throwing it out the window in favor of mythic tropes that are less familiar to western fantasy readers. After all, Game of Thrones is great, but we tend to overrepresent Eurocentric, medieval-inspired stories in the epic fantasy world. There are so many other kinds of stories out there waiting to be told and heard.

Lands of epic fantasy have one big continent, with an irregular coast. There may be islands off the coast here and there, but there’s only one continent, only one world. There’s one kind of people on one side of the continent and another kind over on the other side. Those groups don’t get along all the time, of course — and, if we’re telling an epic fantasy story, it will be during a time when they’re spectacularly not getting along. Maybe there’s a big wall slicing across the middle of that continent, Robert-Frostly trying to make good neighbors out of warring parties. It won’t work, of course. We want our epic fantasy story, and that requires blood and death and devastation, pain and sorrow and misery, and heroic figures that feel all of that pain and yet find ways to transcend and transform their world,...

The issues faced by women in comics are perennial but have been particularly visible in recent years - whether it is in terms of people speaking out about poor treatment, creators and fans saying appalling things or, on better days, representation and inclusion actually improving in the industry.
There's a whole lot to say on the matter, and today (December 9) director Marisa Stotter's documentary She Makes Comics has arrived to have its say.
The film has done a fantastic job of representing the new and old guard of comics, with interviewees including Jenette Kahn, Louise Simonson, Colleen Doran, Wendi Pini, Kate Leth, Becky Cloonan, Raina Telgemeier, Marjorie Liu, journalist Heidi MacDonald and many more.
