For a moment in Bridgerton Season 3, it feels like hope is lost for Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd). In Episode 3, she learns Lord Samadani (David Mumeni), the aristocrat Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) has handpicked for her “sparkler,” dreams of Francesca’s nightmare — having a family with eight boisterous children.
And then, amid the darkness of the Innovation Ball grounds, a beacon of light shines through. It’s Lord John Stirling, the Earl of Kilmartin, played by Bridgerton newcomer Victor Alli. John would like nothing more than to “enjoy the silence” of the night with Francesca. Her relief — and joy — is palpable, as is John’s. This is the start of a romance no one in Mayfair, not even lovingly meddling mama Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), could have predicted.
“I really love that relationship, and I think a lot of people will ship Francesca and John — as do I,”...

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
Three seasons into “Bridgerton,” fans of the Regency drama are used to the sweeping romances filled with everything hot and heavy — banter, drama, and above all else sex. Every season has had its “diamond”—Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) in Season 1, Edwina (Charithra Chandran) in Season 2, Francesca (Hannah Dodd) in Season 3. While Francesca might be of diamond status in the courting process of the season, her brother Colin’s (Luke Newton) long-anticipated romance with Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) might more closely follow the beats of what the “Bridgerton” audience has become accustomed to.
Francesca’s road to romance remains something unlike what viewers have seen before on “Bridgerton” precisely because of her lack of interest in anything romantic or playing the typical heroine. When we first meet Francesca,...

How do the makers of Bridgerton keep a fandom as dedicated as theirs guessing? How does the Netflix show surprise a core of fans who are so intimately familiar with Julia Quinn’s source books that they’re anticipating every blush and ball before it even gets to the screen?
One solution, as has happened in season three, is to play with the established order of things. Though Benedict Bridgerton’s romance follows on from that of his brother Anthony’s in Quinn’s book series, the TV show has (rightly!) vaulted over that to first show the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
Their other answer? Invention. In addition to TV-only characters Madame Delacroix, Will and Alice Mondrich and Queen Charlotte herself, a new raft of invented-for-the-show characters appear in season three. Here they all are, along with info on the actors playing them, plus a couple...

Peep Show, Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong’s long-running Channel 4 comedy about flatmates Mark and Jez, exposed a great comic truth. By letting us eavesdrop on its characters’ inner monologues, it showed us that we’re all idiots on the inside. Petty, vain, furious, paranoid, self-congratulatory yet self-hating at the same time… Just like Mark and Jez, we may pretend to know what we’re doing, but really, we’re all just few inevitable steps away from eating dog meat on a barge.
Series one of E4 gamer flatshare comedy Dead Pixels – created by Jon Brown and executive produced by Bain and Armstrong – was built on a similar truth minus the façade of normality. Its leads were just as entertainingly idiotic as Mark and Jez, but their shared gaming obsession with Mmorpg Kingdom Scrolls stripped them of any fitting-in pretence. Meg and Nicky (Alexa Davies and Will Merrick) were...

Consistency is a hard thing to come by as an actor, but David Mumeni is one of the lucky few who can see he’s found it. Since making his on screen debut in 2010, David has had a consistent string of roles that include film and TV. His most noteworthy role, though, is his most recent one in the British series, Dead Pixels. The CW recently picked up the show for syndication in the United States and this could result in a huge breakout opportunity for David. With more eyes on his work than ever before, David will probably be

From Lesbian Vampire Killers to Severance to Doghouse to Inbred to Stitches to Sightseers. These cover all different types of comedy and horror too, so Killer Weekend does have plenty of competition (or good company).
As well as comedy horror, people from Britain are also known for being pretty good at ‘Stag do’s’ (bachelor parties) and Killer Weekend mixes both of these together. A group of friends and the father of the bride embark on a paint-ball war against the undead only things don’t go as...

Tagline: "It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets Hurt." The horror comedy Fubar is coming to audiences in the United Kingdom. From director Ben Kent (Love Bug), Fubar involves a wedding Stag and an old nuclear bunker. When the group opens the door to the bunker, something is released and a strange situation develops. This zombie title has been making its rounds on the film festival circuit; Fubar had a recent appearance at the LAMANOFest in Spain, this past November. Now, Fubar is getting set to release on DVD and Digital platforms, shortly. Fubar stars: Mark Heap (The World's End), Sean Verey (Dead Man Running), Danny Kirrane and David Mumeni. A preview of the film's impending UK home entertainment release is available here. A few early reviews have come in for Fubar. As a sidenote, Fubar is an old World War II and acronym. Its meaning should be known to everyone by now.
