Scott Lastaiti has acquired exclusive life rights to the story of the New Jersey-based lawyer who uncovered an international terror conspiracy and will produce with Ag Capital’s Alex Garcia and Laura Walker.
Ag Capital, the division of Mexican producer-financier Garcia’s (pictured) Ag Studios that he set up last year and runs with former CAA film finance agent Walker, will fully finance.
The producers are in talks with writers and directors on the project. When Stephen Flatow’s (pictured) daughter Alisa was murdered in Gaza by Islamic Jihad in 1995, he successfully sued the Iranian government after he discovered that they financed the terrorist group responsible for his daughter’s death.
However when he tried to collect compensation, Flatow uncovered a conspiracy involving international banks and the Iranian government.

We made a couple of absolutely huge discoveries Saturday night – not the least of which is that Benson Henderson is human!
The main event of Ufc Fight Night 49 – Benson Henderson vs. Rafael dos Anjos – was a fight that fans and media pundits (including WhatCulture) began calling for after Henderson’s last outing against Rustam Khabilov. Thing is, most of us assumed that this would be another solid win for Benson Henderon. Rafael dos Anjos is a great fighter without question, but no one really expected him to upset Henderson, a man who hadn’t lost to anyone not named Anthony Pettis in years. The going logic was that Henderson would beat Dos Anjos, lock horns with maybe one more contender between now and the December bout champ Pettis has with Gilbert Melendez, and then fight for the title in early 2015.
It appears that dos Anjos, however, wasn’t told about...

The past few years have seen many musicians trying their hand at scoring movies -- Daft Punk, Trent Reznor and Jonny Greenwood, among others -- but it’s a trend that extends past the current crop of critically-acclaimed musician-turned-film-composers. In 1988, Peter Gabriel provided the score for Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of the controversial “The Last Temptation Of Christ” -- it was his second score after the little-seen “Birdy” -- and now it looks like the Genesis founding member is going back to the world of religion for his next scoring gig. THR is reporting that Gabriel will compose the score for the religious-themed anthology film “Words of Gods.” Produced by Alex Garcia and Guillermo Arriaga, the film will feature nine different segments directed by names like Bahman Ghobadi (“Turtles Can Fly,” "No One Knows About Persian Cats"), Emir Kusturica (“Underground”), Hideo Nakata (“Dark Water”)...

Days before the DVD and Blu Ray release of Utopia, we enjoyed a brief chat to the wonderful Adeel Akhtar, aka Wilson Wilson…
Warning: contains Utopia spoilers.
I’d take a bet, right now, that somewhere in the country is a new-ish puppy, guinea pig, or goldfish named Wilson Wilson. I’d take a similar bet that someone, somewhere is using Neil Maskell’s unvarying delivery of the line “Where is Jessica Hyde?” as their mobile ringtone. Finally, I wager that the next time a flu epidemic hits the headlines, Twitter will be standing room only thanks to gags about Mr Rabbit.
Such is the ardent affection that six-part Channel 4 drama Utopia provoked from fans earlier this year. The show splashed a can-full of acid yellow paint onto the greyness of a UK January, rousing us from the post-Christmas slumber with a nasty...

Review Louisa Mellor 19 Feb 2013 - 23:10
We finally know who Mr Rabbit is, though Utopia’s closing episode was more ellipsis than finale. Here’s Louisa’s review…
This review contains spoilers.
There’s often something anti-climactic about watching the resolution of a conspiracy thriller. The fun of acting detective and testing paranoid theories (Grant’s mum is Mr Rabbit! No, it’s Wilson! No, it’s a cabal of world leaders using Rabbit as an acronym for ‘really a bit bleak in truth’!) outweighs the pleasure of being presented with the answer.
We should have had Milner pegged as one half of The Network’s tag-team from the off, seeing as her first lines on screen contained a condensed version of their pro-sterilisation argument: “He’s already dead. You’re not killing, you’re saving my life”, she told Wilson, in reference to the skinhead on the chapel floor,...

The 1970s era of disco, drugs and excess is coming back with "Studio," a drama series project for Showtime centering on the iconic New York nightclub Studio 54.
The project, from writer Chad Hodge and "Hairspray" producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, is being produced by Mrc.
Bryan Singer is in talks to direct the potential pilot if his schedule permits.
"Studio" centers on flamboyant co-founder Steve Rubell and starts off in the months leading to the club's April 1977 opening.
But "Studio," which is in development, will be a fictional series and not a biopic or docudrama. Rubell will be the only real person featured, with the rest of the characters fictional or composites.
"The show is less about the history of Studio 54 than it is about New York in the late '70s, what people were going through, the political and social issues," Hodge said. "Studio 54 is the backdrop for exploring that."
For Hodge, who was born the year the club opened, "Studio" has been a passion project: He's been fascinated with Studio 54 -- or Studio, as it was commonly known -- for a long time.
"When I was about 15, my uncle told me the story of the night he took my grandparents there, complete with all the unnecessary and inappropriate details," he said. "I was hooked (and never again could I look at my grandparents the same way)."
Hodge penned "Studio" on spec and took it to Zadan and Meron, who had given him his first writing job on their ABC series "Veritas."
Zadan and Meron, who had gone to Studio 54 with friend Liza Minnelli, loved the idea.
"It really was a time that has never been seen again," Zadan said. "Socially, politically, everything about it was unique."
Added Meron: "It was the last hurrah before the era of AIDS."
"Studio" also will tap Zadan and Meron's strong musical background. "Music is going to be a very big part of the show," Meron said.
Because of Studio 54's history of hedonism -- it was notorious for rampant sex and drug use -- Hodge, Zadan and Meron took the project to Showtime, where they felt they could best tell the gritty story.
The trio, which executive produces "Studio," said they've been encouraged by the wide acceptance and accolades for another dark period drama, AMC's "Mad Men."
Singer and his producing partner Alex Garcia would exec produce.
"Studio" was packaged by Wma. Meron and Zadan are repped by CAA and attorney Kevin Yorn. Hodge is repped by attorney Michael Fuller and Singer is repped by attorney Dave Feldman.

With one comic superhero lighting up its boxoffice, Warner Bros. is trying to develop another potential comic franchise by acquiring the superhero project "Capeshooters," with Bryan Singer in negotiations to produce.
J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani will write the screenplay, which follows two down-on-their-luck slackers who specialize in shooting videos of superheroes. They find themselves on the run when they uncover evidence that a legendary superhero actually is evil.
The story is based on an upcoming graphic novel by Rob Liefeld, who was one of the founders of Image Comics and at one point one of the hottest artists in the comics arena.
Singer will produce via his shingle Bad Hat Harry. The company's Alex Garcia is executive producing.
Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment and Liefield also will produce in some capacity. Matt Reilly and Matt Milam are overseeing for the studio.
The news comes on the eve of Comic-Con in San Diego, where film and TV studios will roll out such fare as "Watchmen," "The Spirit" and "Fringe" for thousands of salivating genre-lovers while execs will troll for other hot comic properties.
Wma-repped Singer has a soft spot for costumed creations, having helmed two "X-Men" movies and "Superman Returns," Warners' reboot of the franchise in 2006.
Damiani and Lavin, repped by Wma and Luber Roklin Entertainment, are writers on Ryan Seacrest's Kiss-fm morning show and also work on "American Idol." The first feature script, "Kamikaze Love," was on the Black List last year and is set up at Screen Gems.
Steven Zeitchik reported from New York; Borys Kit reported from Los Angeles.
