Roderick Strong could always get it done in the pro wrestling ring. When the bell sounds the decorated champion remains one of the most technically sound competitors out there. Though in this business that is just half of what’s needed to reach the next level. You’ve got to be multifaceted and be able to connect with the audience through your onscreen persona. And after wrestling for more than half his life, the 40-year-old All Elite Wrestling star is in the midst of arguably the most creatively fulfilling period since he started. Strong looks for the big payoff at Revolution as the leader of the “Neck Strong” movement challenges Orange Cassidy for his International championship at Revolution on March 3. Adding to the significance of the opportunity is Strong knowing Sting will have his historic last match on the same show. Here the member of the Undisputed Kingdom opens up about his experience in Aew.

Daniel Garcia and Roderick Strong began the match for their respective sides. Garcia shot for a single leg takedown, but Roddy sprawled. They traded forearms and then Roddy chopped at Garcia’s chest. Adam Cole tagged in, but Garcia used a knee to Cole’s abdomen. Garcia tagged out to Angelo Parker. Bandido scoop slammed Parker.

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt 2.0, As I’ve said regarding Raw and Smackdown, we’re not going to see big changes to WWE’s developmental show yet; but the most interesting brand that Could see big changes is Nxt… Anyway, let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Nikkita Lyons def. Kiana James The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Kiana James showed no fear stepping to Nikkita Lyons, but her aggressiveness cost her as Lyons ran her over with a shoulder tackle. James recovered from the tackle and began to target Lyons’ knee, smashing it against the ring apron and steel steps. James continued to pick apart a wounded Lyons, but the rising Superstar roared back with a German Suplex and a corner splash. James tried to pull one over on Lyons with a rope-assisted pin, but she was caught by the referee and while she...

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt 2.0, a show that – if I’m honest – rarely gets me excited to watch the programme these days. This week’s show was marked by the return of Zoey Stark during the 20-women Battle Royal! Let’s get into it.
Match #1: Jd McDonagh def. Cameron Grimes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The fireworks from last week’s heated confrontation led to a fiery showdown between Cameron Grimes and Jd McDonagh as the two Superstars traded fierce elbows and kicks before Joe Gacy mysteriously appeared to take in the match from above the ring. McDonagh targeted Grimes’ left leg throughout the match, wrapping it around the steel post before leveling Grimes with a chop block. Grimes attempted to rally on one good leg, but “The Irish Ace” caught him with a Glasgow Kiss before hanging Grimes up in the ropes for repeated kicks to the leg.

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt 2.0, a show that – if I’m honest – rarely gets me excited to watch the programme these days. This week’s show is the Great American Bash episode… Not a pay-per-view, just a themed show for the Independence Day celebrations. Let’s see what it has to offer!
Match #1: Nxt Women’s Tag Team Championship Match – Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez def. Toxic Attraction The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After defeating Katana Chance & Kayden Carter to earn an Nxt Women’s Tag Team Title Match, the fledgling duo of Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez looked to strike a decisive blow to the dominant Toxic Attraction. The newcomers went toe-to-toe with the champions until a devious distraction from Jacy Jayne allowed Toxic Attraction to take control. Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt 2.0, a show that – if I’m honest – rarely gets me excited to watch the programme these days. But we keep on watching all in the name of fairness and in the hope that this new iteration of WWE’s third show can become as hot and unmissable as its predecessor. Let’s see what this week has in store!
Match #1: Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade def. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Still upset at being cut in line by Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter took out their frustrations on the best friend duo in a hard-fought match for the right to challenge Toxic Attraction for the Nxt Women’s Tag Team Titles at Great American Bash. Chance & Carter displayed a new aggressiveness as they flew around the ring and pummeled Jade & Perez with a multitude of high-flying maneuvers.

You thought we were done after 2 sets of Roster Reveals? Well then you would be wrong, the WWE is continuing to roll out wrestlers for what could be the most extensive roster for WWE 2K yet!
In the last few weeks, WWE has dropped two sets of Roster Reveals. First up we had Goldust give us a hand, followed by the samoan submission mission, the Destroyer Samoa Joe revealing part 2, and now we have Kevin Owens joining Corey Graves and Renee Young. You can watch the entire video below, where they give us a whole new batch of playable wrestlers.
This new roster reveal gives us 43 new characters:

Nxt: Takeover: Chicago will air this Saturday on the WWE Network for the first time outside of their quarterly, big four schedule. (The big four I reference of course being the WWE events Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series.) Taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, the show features the best and brightest of the WWE Nxt brand. Since the Nxt brand has consistently put on some of the best shows of the year for the WWE, I thought we'd take a few minutes to go through the card for the show while I offer some predictions on who may win.
Roderick Strong vs Eric Young
Roderick Strong has been on one heck of a roll as of late. He's still pretty young despite his years in Ring of Honor and other organizations. The WWE has a blue chipper on their hands with Roddy and I think...

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that since January, the WWE has been talking to the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, owners of Ring of Honor Wrestling, with the hopes of purchasing that promotion. Talks are said to be in the opening stages and, similar to the conversation the WWE had with Impact Wrestling before Anthem Sports purchased that company, may turn out with no change in ownership.
As a fan of both organizations, I'm conflicted by this news. There are some performers in Ring of Honor who would be amazing in either the WWE or the Nxt brand. Adam Cole for one would be a huge aquisition for the WWE. While rumor has it he's already WWE bound, having him come into the company and acknowledge the work he's created in Ring of Honor would do a lot to establish him for the casual WWE audience.

Prior to the event, during the TakeOver kick-off show, we found out the results of the Nxt Awards, and so I figured I’d begin this article with the results of them.
Match of the Year: Diy vs. The Revival (2 out of 3 Falls/TakeOver Toronto)
Breakout Star of the Year: Peyton Royce & Billie Kay
Tag Team of the Year: The Revival
Woman of the Year: Asuka
Male of the Year: Shinsuke Nakamura
Nxt Superstar of the Year: Shinsuke Nakamura
Nxt Takeover events have been a high quality time and time again in the last few years, and with Nxt currently going through a “rebuilding” stage on its roster, with new talents coming in and well-known ones gone to the main roster, its an interesting time. Still, regardless of the stars that have departed Nxt in the last few months, there are still plenty of men and women to get excited about,...

Nxt Takeover: San Antonio is live tonight on the WWE Network. Takeover, for the casual fan that may not know, is the quarterly event that the Nxt brand holds. It’s their pay per view level event. Some of the best matches the WWE put on last year were at Takeover events, such as Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn at Takeover: Dallas and The Revival vs #Diy at Takeover: Toronto. The level of talent at Nxt meets and in some cases exceeds the talent on the main roster so if you’re a fan of good, entertaining matches, this show will be a can’t miss show. Presented for your approval is a preview of the show and my predictions for who comes out victorious.
Roderick Strong vs Cien Andrade Almas
Fans of Ring of Honor will be the first to tell you that Roderick Strong is an amazing talent in the ring.

WWE Nxt saw four men battle for the Number One Contender spot for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Nxt Championship. Bobby Roode, Ty Dillinger, Cien Andrade Almas, and Roderick Strong battled in a pretty decent match that saw Bobby Roode pin Ty Dillinger for the win.
I like seeing Roode finally challenge for the title. Among the four, Bobby Roode has the most immediate upside. Roderick Strong’s resume speaks for itself. Yet I think some work needs to be done to more fully introduce him to the casual fan. To me, Nxt is the show that bridges the gap between the type of fan that attends any and all independent wrestling shows and the fan who’s only contact with the wrestling business is what the WWE has to offer on a weekly basis. Being that Bobby Roode was Tna Champion while Tna still had a major network still airing their show,...

While wrestling is staged and predetermined, no-one is under any illusions that it isn’t dangerous, and injuries can crop up at any time. A mistimed collision or an errant strike is sometimes all it takes to put someone on the shelf for a number of months.
Injuries aren’t always accidents and they aren’t always someone’s fault, as the life of a professional wrestler in WWE is a tough one. Superstars wrestle most days out of the week, and this day-to-day grind can caused injuries to build up until one day the worst happens.
As WWE has entered the twenty-first century, it has improved leaps and bounds when it comes to assessing, treating and preventing injuries as best it can. While in the past they would hire a doctor in whatever town they were in, they now have a dedicated medical staff that travel to...

If Ring of Honor ever gets their own Hall of Fame, and if Tna’s is still around in a few years, you can imagine that Christopher Daniels would be one of the few men on the planet to be inducted into both.
Daniels has been with both wrestling organizations from their inception (he first appeared on Tna’s fourth weekly pay-per-view, and main-evented the first Roh show), and been one of their best workers. Throughout the years, his character has evolved from a dark, religious menace to a man that just loves to have an appletini or two. Recently, he’s also taken his love of comic books into a new realm after writing his own comic “Christopher Daniels and Kazarian Wrestle Aw Yeah Comics.”

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla — one of the top independent promotions in the country — held their annual Battle of Los Angeles tournament this past weekend, August 29th through the 31st. The prestigious event saw Ricochet vanquish five other wrestlers to win the tournament. However, it was a speech by frequent Pwg competitor, Willie Mack, which has drawn the attention of the wrestling community.
Reportedly, Mack gave a farewell speech during the third night of the tournament. Milk Chocolate — as he occasionally calls himself — has been competing for Pwg since 2010. He’s also spent time in the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood promotion, as well as a few visits to Mexico.
Mack attended a WWE tryout camp some months ago, alongside Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong, and a handful of other indy standouts. Steen has since been signed by the company, and now Mack has as well. It was reported some months ago that Willie...

For quite some time now, there have been rumors abound that once Kevin Steen wrapped up his run with Ring of Honor, he would be heading to WWE. Well, on Saturday, July 19th, that chapter of Steen’s career came to a close, as he competed in his final Roh contest.
In Dearborn, Mi, Ring of Honor’s Summer Heat Tour reached its conclusion with an event that featured Roh’s signature hard-hitting contests. However, it was the main event that most fans came to see, as Kevin Steen battled his longtime friend — and sometimes rival — Steve Corino.
Before the match began, fans showered Steen with streamers — a Ring of Honor tradition adopted from Japanese audiences. Then, as ring announcer Bobby Cruise began the introductions, he was suddenly stopped by Corino. “The King of Old School” handed Cruise a sheet of paper which the announcer then read. There are few wrestlers that leave their mark on the business, especially once they’re gone. Not every wrestler can be a superstar, an in ring technician, great on the mic or a dominating powerhouse. Then again, every once in a while, a wrestle emerges that has more than one of these characteristics and that’s what makes them special. They’re why we watch.
Since 2001, a lot of wrestlers have come and gone, some more memorable than others. This list is sure to raise some eyebrows and start some controversy but hey, that’s what makes wrestling fun. Everyone has ‘their guy’ and who they think should be number one. Now this list was a pain in the ass to put in order, as many of these stars could go in different spots but it is what it is. The best of the best in the last 13 years.

With most wrestlers hitting their prime in their 30′s, it can be hard for the younger guys to get over and garner the spotlight. Most of the guys on this list have had success, however none of them have reached the pinacle of their profession by capturing a WWE World Heavyweight Championship but that doesn’t mean that they wont in the future. I recently just did a list of the 10 best wrestlers over 40 but this article is about the future of wrestling.
All of these guys have tremendous upside, of coure some will be more successful than others but they’ll all have their chance to shine, some already have gotten that chance.
Some of these guys may fade into obscurity but most of them will have long careers. You might want to learn to love them because most of these guys will be around for the next 10 to 15 years.

We start with a recap of last week’s main event between Jay Lethal and El Generico, and Mike Bennett’s interference.
At the start of the show we are told that due to last week’s main event a new match has been added to Final Battle. I wonder what that could be.
Tonight’s main event will be a tag match between the Young Bucks and Future Shock (Kyle O‘Riley and Adam Cole).
We cut to Prince Nana putting over Tommasio Chiampa. Bacially a short promo about how strong he is and how he is the best, intercut with videos of his training routine. Fairly effective framing device.
Match One: Shiloh Jonze vs. Tommasio Ciampa w/ Prince Nana, Princess Mia & Ernesto Osiris
Winner: Tommasio Ciampa
Worth Watching?: Not really, it was just your standard squash match. Ciampa’s finisher is cool, though.
Next interview features the...

Before the opening titles we get a recap of last weeks Proving Ground between new comers Caprice Colman and Cedric Alexander against Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, which admittedly is well worth watching again, and the post match promo from Dem Boys, the Briscos.
