Which new Saturday action gameshow deserves to wear Total Wipeout's crown? Den Of Geek investigates...
Saturday nights are all about falling over. Just look at your average British town centre and you’ll see people all over the ground, stranded where they fell. And Saturday night TV is no different.
But since the sad loss of Total Wipeout in 2012, the people of our televisions have been too upright. There just haven’t been the obstacle courses around to trip them up. That’s all changed though, with the BBC’s The Getaway Car taking on ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK in the family-friendly 7pm-ish timeslot.
But are either of them a worthy successor to the great of the genre?

Marvin and Rochelle Humes reportedly locked themselves in a disabled toilet ''for a few moments'' at the National Television Awards last night (20.01.16). The loved-up couple escaped the celebrations at London's O2 arena during the star-studded ceremony by sneaking off into a spacious bathroom for some cheeky alone time. A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''They snuck away from their suite and went into the disabled toilet, even though the normal toilets were completely empty.'' After a few moments of alone time together, the presenting pair - who married in 2012 and have two-year-old daughter Alaia-Mai together - joined 'This Morning' anchors...

The former Jls singer - who has presented the BBC One show for the past three years - has admitted there is gentle tension between himself and his spouse, who hosts the ITV singing show's spin-off 'The Xtra Factor', when the two programmes go head-to-head in the famous ratings war. Simon Cowell wants a double 'X Factor' elimination every week. While double eliminations are usually only used on special occasions on the reality TV show, ratings got a bump last week when both Bupsi and Alien Uncovered were axed and now Simon wants two acts to leave every week. A source told The Sun: ''Getting rid of two singers each week keeps jeopardy levels high and enables the show to focus on the most talented singers sooner.'' However, 'Xtra Factor' presenter Rochelle Humes admitted: ''I am not sure the contestants know yet!'' Only two episodes will feature single eliminations. The new format...

Tensions were running high after tonight's X Factor which saw Bupsi and Alien Uncovered leave the show.
Judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini both lost an act each during the first results show of the series, and the pressure seemed to be getting to them.
The pair clashed during an interview with Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom on The Xtra Factor - just jump to around the two minute mark to get straight to the fireworks.
Simon appeared to talk over Cheryl, leading the singer to halt the interview and say to him: "Are you saying something?"
Simon cattily replied: "Are we not allowed to talk?"
He went on to add: "I lost someone as well tonight, you weren't the only one."
It's only the first results show. Will these two even the last the whole series together?...

The Xtra Factor host Melvin Odoom is bringing us backstage gossip from behind the scenes of The X Factor every week...
"Hello all Digital Spy readers and welcome to my first column entry!
"It's an exciting week for me and the rest of the Xtra Factor team as it's the first time we have ever done a live show on Thursday.
"The whole aim of the show will be to get down to the nitty gritty with the contestants and judges, find out what songs they're singing, what they're wearing and get all the behind-the-scenes gossip.
"We went to the contestants' house in North London earlier this week which is absolutely incredible. It has a swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. It's what dreams are made of! They've all been put in rooms together so it will be interesting to see who buddies up with who.

Simon Cowell played a cruel Wildcard prank on The Xtra Factor last night.
Joining his fellow X Factor judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw to announce the lucky act being brought back to the show, he suggested that they announce it at the same time.
But after a countdown, he announced: "Jennifer Phillips!" - leaving Cheryl looking shocked as he smirked: "I'm kidding."
"I'm really sorry if you're watching, Jennifer," said Xtra Factor host Rochelle Humes before the judges announced the name of the actual Wildcard, Monica Michael.
"Look, Monica's come back twice," Simon explained. "I hope some of the other people who were close will come back next year because as you can see with Monica now, there is that possibility.
"But I've got to tell you, I walked away from the show [at the weekend] and I think the guys were the same - in fact, I know they were the...

Scott Mills got more than he bargained for on his Radio 1 show today (October 26).
None other than Sir Terry Wogan phoned in to challenge the DJ to abseil down Blackpool Tower for BBC Children in Need.
Mills will be joined by Royal Marines for the 400ft abseil.
"I would say I'm really excited to be part of Children in Need this year, but to be honest, I am ridiculously nervous about what I am taking on," Mills noted.
"If facing my fear and abseiling the Blackpool Tower inspires even just one person to donate then it will be absolutely worth it... especially when I get to the ground!"
Viewers will see if Mills can conquer his fear of heights during the Children in Need show on November 13.
Wogan will be hosting this year's broadcast alongside Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly, Rochelle Humes and Nick Grimshaw.

The X Factor is well and truly under way, and we've been keeping an eye on everything that's been going on...
When is The X Factor on TV?
The show kicked off on August 29 - and in fact, in an attempt to avoid any clashes with Strictly Come Dancing, ITV bosses have unveiled the full schedule right from the off, so we know everything that's coming. You can get a proper look at it here, but auditions continued until Saturday, September 19 with Boot Camp kicking off on September 20. That was the first of five boot camp shows - two set in a country house, and then three episodes of the dreaded Six Chair Challenge. They were all on Sundays, to avoid the Rugby World Cup, but then Judges' Houses aired on October 24 and October 25... and the first big live show will kick off on October 31. And the grand final? There was trouble on The X Factor tonight as contestant Mason Noise was booed after getting through to the live shows.
Noise was judge Nick Grimshaw's first choice for his Boys category, but the decision didn't go down too well with the audience, who were quick to boo the singer.
X Factor: Nick Grimshaw sends Mason Noise, Ché Chesterman and Seann Miley Moore to live shows
Despite hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack calling for the jibes to stop, the crowd were keen to show their anger towards Noise.
The backlash against the singer comes after he criticised the show's editing of his audition while at the Six Chair Challenge, before dropping his mic and storming off the stage.
But on tonight's The Xtra Factor Grimshaw promised viewers that Noise will win people over once the live shows start.
"Successful artists always polarise," he said, comparing Noise to Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

The X Factor has branded Louis Walsh's possible return as just "speculation", Walsh himself has insisted he's "available", and now big boss Simon Cowell has put Walsh's fate in the hands of the viewers.
The judge and music mogul visited Brit School and the Nordoff Robbins facilities in South London yesterday (September 29), and was asked by Pa whether his recent cryptic tweet of "some surprises to come" was referring to Walsh's return.
"I wouldn't rule out anything," he replied. "And by the way, when I say these things, sometimes I'm thinking, 'I've got to ask about 25 people here, and half of them will go no', but I just put it out there anyway, because we like to try new things.
"And hopefully some things will be a surprise, but you've got to be fearless when you do these types of things, and you've got to have a sense of humour.

Release The Hounds host Reggie Yates has revealed that people in television have no idea how ITV2 is allowed to broadcast Release The Hounds.
The terrifying horror game-show - which Yates declared is "bigger and better" this year - sees contestants taking part in various scary games before literally running from a pack of dogs, all in an attempt to win some cash.
"I have people saying to me, 'I don't know how you're getting away with what you're doing', particularly people who work in telly!" Yates told Digital Spy. "They're like, 'How are you getting away with that?' That's definitely the conversation that I'm having on a regular basis."
And Yates admitted that he would never take part in the game himself, saying: "I'd never do it. It's not something I'd ever want to do. I really enjoy the role that I play and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Samantha Cameron could soon be coming under the critical eyes of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
The Mail on Sunday has reported that the prime minister's wife is to take part in a special charity edition of The Great British Bake Off for Sport Relief.
Cameron's baking skills were on display in 2013 for Comic Relief when she made buns, cookies and flapjacks in the Downing Street kitchen.
The Great British Bake Off has previously filmed Sport Relief editions in 2012 and 2014, with the likes of Rochelle Humes, Jamelia and Victoria Pendleton participating in last year's series.
If Samantha Cameron does take part, you can expect to see her tackle Bake Off's fiendish technical challenges in March 2016.
