The wife of Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin shared a disturbing photo of racist hate mail she says was sent to their home and directed toward her husband.
“You suck as a coach! You’re a n—– and can’t win! Please get lost! or else,” the letter read, according to a Twitter photo of the note.
Sumlin’s wife, Charlene, shared the image with a message of her own: “People of 2017: please tell me how any part of this is ok. And to the sender: did it occur to you that a child may open it?...

Tragedy turned Carol Grayson into a campaigner for the truth, on the NHS tainted blood scandal and the Iraq war
Halfway through the Oscars, a triumphant yell could wake light sleepers in Newcastle if the shoestring budget film Incident in New Baghdad walks off with the short documentary award.
Perched in front of the TV at her Tyneside flat, a nurse from Hartlepool will toast her other, very different role: as executive producer of a whistle-blowing production, based on an incident first made public by the WikiLeaks website, which has attracted plaudits around the world.
Carol Grayson's advice and part-financing for the story of collateral killings in Iraq, their cover-up and aftermath, is the latest part of a remarkable modern pilgrim's progress. Driven by personal tragedy to investigate the infected blood scandal of the 1970s and 80s – described by Lord Winston as "the worst treatment disaster in the history of...

Psych made its best pitch this week. It swung for the fences. It threw a few curveballs at the audience. Point being: the episode was centered on baseball and featured a trip of fun guest stars.
Below, staff writer Chandel Charles has gathered a new quartet of fans - Kathy, William, Sarah Ann and Jamie - for another Round Table discussion, as they break down the latest antics from Shawn, Gus and company...
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite moment/quote from the episode and why?
Chandel: Shawn and Henry arguing over his call at the game. It's been a while since we've these two engage in an all-out shouting match, but what made it even funnier was that Gus and Juliet were watching and providing commentary. It was a pretty entertaining way to begin an episode.
Kathy: When both Shawn and Gus were dressed as Sammy the Seabird! Gus is...

You might not be aware of it — especially if you live on the East Coast — but on Wednesday night (October 27), the 2010 World Series officially gets under way in San Francisco. It's a particularly intriguing matchup, pitting the pitching-heavy San Francisco Giants against the slugging Texas Rangers, and if you're a baseball purist (and who isn't?), well, then you're definitely in for a treat.
Still, it occurs to me that most of you couldn't care less about this year's Series, mostly because it does not involve either the New York Yankees and/or Philadelphia Phillies. Call me a traditionalist — or an embittered Red Sox/ Mets fan — but I think things are better off without either the Yanks or the...

Perhaps I'm the wrong person to write about Endgame. I didn't experience the abolition of Apartheid firsthand -- by that time, my family had already fled South Africa and taken up residence in Massachusetts. But I experienced Apartheid itself in spades, if you'll pardon that unfortunate choice of words. It was strange through the eyes of a child -- the separate schools, drinking fountains, restrooms, movie theaters -- those were the things that children remember the most. But given my activist parents, the absolute, moral wrongness of the system was ingrained at me from a very young age. I may not have fully understood it as I do now, but I knew that this was not the way things were meant to be.
I say all of this because I'm pretty sure that Endgame, the 2009 film directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point), is a very good movie. It's a steadily paced,...

New designs by Michael Young and Julien Renault show the future in foil.
The early Aughts brought us the rise of plastic. Then there were bubbling threats of a carbon-fiber flashback (soooo '90s), but thankfully that didn't go anywhere. The last year or two might have been dominated by paper (exhibit A, exhibit B, exhibit C). 2010 is the year of aluminum.
British designer Michael Young moved to Hong Kong in 2006, drawn in part by the manufacturing capabilities of its factories. Late last year at Vienna Design Week I saw the debut of his first line of furniture produced there, including Chair-4a, with gorgeous bent aluminum legs (right), and the Zipte Link room-divider system, made out of a puzzle of extruded aluminum wishbones.
Now he's announced a new line of aluminum chairs called Lancaster produced with the American company Emeco, known for, well, aluminum chairs. The gorgeous ash legs...

Golden Globe nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor is perhaps best known for his work in such diverse films as American Gangster, Dirty Pretty Things, Serenity, Love Actually, Redbelt, and Kinky Boots. The British actor has made a career of playing deeply complex individuals, from cross-dresser Lola in Kinky Boots to Dirty Pretty Things' cab driver and former doctor Okwe. In PBS' gripping apartheid thriller Endgame, which airs Stateside this Sunday as part of the new season of Masterpiece Contemporary, Ejiofor, recently appointed an OBE by Queen Elizabeth, plays South African political figure Thabo Mbeki, a key player in secret negotiations between the African National Congress and the South African government that were brokered by Consolidated Goldfields. Remarkably these talks resulted in an end to apartheid in South Africa and Endgame, written by Paula Milne and directed by Pete Travis, dramatize the secret talks, which occurred at Mells Park, an estate in England.

Piers Morgan has said that the performance of a father and daughter act on last weekend's edition of Britain's Got Talent should quiet critics of the show. Michael Young sang Barry Manilow's 'Could It Be Magic' while his 11-year-old daughter Gemma danced in a yellow tutu. The duo - known as Two Alike - failed to get to the semi-finals, though judge Amanda Holden praised their "courage" and said that the pair should be applauded. In his Britain's Got Talent blog, Morgan said: "Their act was, to put it mildly, awkward (more)...
