The latest trailer for "Deadpool & Wolverine" suggests the movie might be even more of a cameo-fest than we'd previously predicted.
Hugh Jackman is back as Logan, of course, and he's bringing leftover characters from the erstwhile 20th Century Fox's Marvel Universe. We already knew Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), and Toad would be back. So will Wolverine's archenemy Sabretooth, perhaps finally giving Logan a chance at closure.
Around the 1:50 minute mark of the new trailer, you were probably focused on the decapitated head of a Giant Man variant (his rotting skull concealed within his ant-styled helmet). I'm much more curious about the characters standing beneath this makeshift base, who look to be familiar (mutant) faces from previous "X-Men" films: Yuriko Oyama/Lady Deathstrike from "X2" and Azazel from "X-Men: First Class."
Both are seen at too far a distance to determine if their previous actors...

Spoilers for "X-Men '97" to follow.
The latest episode of "X-Men '97," "Remember It," took us to mutant haven Genosha (before it all went to Hell anyway). The island turned out to be a treasure trove of cameos; the Genoshan ruling council included Hellfire Club leaders Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw, Morlock leader Callisto, the Irish mutant Banshee, Professor X's old flame Moira MacTaggert, and former Goblin Queen Madelyne Pryor. The streets of Genosha were filled with other mutants whom "X-Men" comics fans may recognize, from Pixie to Dazzler to Marrow to Exodus.
The best mutant cameo of all, though, is the blue-skinned Bavarian Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler. His voice actor, Adrian Hough, joins the ranks of those who've reprised their roles from the 1992 "X-Men" cartoon.
Kurt shows up in the episode's title sequence doing some sword fighting with Gambit. In the episode itself, he escorts Rogue and Gambit...

Representation of diversity has become a massive subject in the entertainment industry in the last few decades. However, the situation was quite different in the early 2000s when the audience used to not bat an eye over these things.
X-Men: Evolution
Despite the audience not caring about representation back in the day, Marvel subtly tried to sneak in hints of a few characters being gay in X-Men: Evolution.
The animator of X-Men: Evolution opens up about LGBTQ+ representation in the series
X-Men is one of Marvel’s most popular superhero teams. The team arguably comes 2nd in popularity right after The Avengers as the latter has gained a lot of admiration and acclaim since their live-action adaptation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Over the years, Marvel has made many animated and live-action series and movies to explore multiple storylines related to the iconic superhero team. One such series was X-Men: Evolution...

It’s hard to explain exactly what inspired this list. Maybe we just wanted to rave some more about Pixar. Maybe watching Avatar again and the new sequel Avatar: The Way of Water boggled our minds. Whatever it was, it’s done, and we can’t take it back (the delete key is broken). It is kind of strange that there are so many blue movie characters. If we wanted to do, say, Best Red Characters in Movies, it would just be five pictures of Hellboy and five pictures of Darth Maul. Travel below to see our picks for the very best blue characters in movie history!

Robin Wagner, one of Broadway’s most prolific and celebrated set designers with three Tony Awards and a roster of major credits including Angels in America, Dreamgirls, A Chorus Line, The Producers and Jelly’s Last Jam, died Monday in his sleep in New York City. He was 89.
Wagner’s death was announced through a spokesperson by his daughter Christie Wagner Lee.
Born in San Francisco, Wagner developed his interest in set design while attending the Palace of Fine Arts (now the California School of Fine Arts). He did some early work for San Francisco theaters before moving to New York in the early 1960s, quickly finding work on both the Off Broadway and Broadway scenes.
His major Broadway breakthrough came with the original and acclaimed production of Hair in 1968. From there he would go on to design sets for productions from the memorable to the landmark, with a remarkable...

Robin Wagner, a set designer who worked on more than 50 Broadway plays and musicals over a 50-year career and won three Tony Awards for best scenic design, has died. He was 89.
Wagner died in his sleep on Monday in New York City, publicist Matt Polk told The Hollywood Reporter after receiving confirmation from Wagner’s daughter Christie Wagner Lee.
His Broadway play and musical design credits between 1961 and 2012 included the original productions of Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Angels in America, Victoria/Victoria, The Producers, The Boy From Oz, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street and Dreamgirls. Wagner also designed Crazy For You and Chess for London’s West End.
Rather than a stage designer with a painterly style, Wagner was a pioneer of mobile, automated sets on Broadway with productions like On the Twentieth Century and Dreamgirls. Because of his innovations, the large-scale use of technology to smoothly move and shift...

X2: X-Men United Adapted The God Loves, Man Kills Marvel Comic Arc, But It's Missing One Key Element
"X2: X-Men United" was released 20 years ago, and it remains easily the best of the original "X-Men" trilogy and one of the first hints that superhero movies were a Hollywood heavyweight. Even so, "X2" isn't free of the sin that many adaptations commit. Namely, not honoring the source material's spirit.
The most influential "X-Men" writer is Chris Claremont. He wrote the series from 1975 to 1991, rescuing the comic from obscurity in the process. He also gave the setting the political backbone for which it's now known. Stan Lee retroactively claimed he based Professor X and Magneto on Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, but read his "X-Men" stories and you won't find credence for that or much of a bite at all. Lee was, in the words of "Marvel Comics: The Untold Story" author Sean Howe, "a master fence-sitter."
Claremont, though, had a firmer spine. Magneto being a Holocaust survivor?...

Yo La Tengo celebrated the fourth night of Hanukkah — and the midpoint of their annual Bowery Ballroom residency marking the Festival of Lights — with an encore entirely dedicated to the Ramones, featuring the punk legends’ longtime drummer Marky Ramone.
The indie rock trio hinted at what was to come Wednesday when they opened their Night Four gig with their instrumental rendition of “Blitzkrieg Bop.” For the encore, Yo La Tengo whipped out five Ramones classics — “Rockaway Beach,” “I Can’t Make It on Time,” “I Wanna Be Sedated,” “Loudmouth” and “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker,...

2022 Oscar nominee Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power of the Dog) has signed on to star alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in Apple TV+’s upcoming series Disclaimer created by Alfonso Cuarón, which also has Sacha Baron Cohen in talks for a role, Deadline can confirm.
The Ankler was first to report the news. Oscar winner Cuarón is writing, directing and exec producing his first-ever series, which is based on the novel of the same name by Renée Knight. In it, Blanchett will play Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that she had hoped was long buried in the past, one that reveals her darkest secret.

There are a few reasons why Nightcrawler, aka Kurt Wagner, should be given his own series or even a movie in the MCU, and one above them all is that he’s a very understated character, possibly because he’s usually been seen as someone that’s useful but not quite as forceful as his teammates. Born from a union between Mystique and the demonic figure Azazel, Nightcrawler was abandoned by Mystique and raised by a foster mother in a circus environment, which is where he picked up his incredible agility and acrobatic abilities. In the movies he’s starred in thus far, obviously

The cast for The Batman is slowly coming together around Robert Pattinson in the lead role, and here’s a new name who may end up joining the crew. We Got This Covered is hearing that Dark Phoenix star Kodi Smit-McPhee – who played Kurt Wagner Aka Nightcrawler in Fox’s X-Men franchise – is in talks for the movie.
We’ve got good reason to trust this information, too, as it comes to us via the same source who previously told us Jonah Hill was signing on before that was confirmed by other outlets and that Mahershala Ali was up for Commissioner Gordon. Though the part ultimately went to Jeffrey Wright, Ali was the original top choice before he dropped out to do Marvel’s Blade, something which has since been confirmed as well.

Kodi Smit-McPhee
For a guy who won an AFI award as best young actor for his debut film, Richard Roxburgh’s Romulus, My Father in 2007 when he was 11, Kodi Smit-McPhee has a remarkably grounded approach to his profession.
“I think the secret of my success is having an innocent mind, which has nothing to do with fame,” Kodi, now aged 22, tells If from the Adelaide set of Seth Larney’s 2067.
After scoring his international breakthrough at the age of 13 opposite Viggo Mortensen in John Hillcoat’s The Road and playing Alexander in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Nightcrawler in X-Men: Apocalypse, he reflects: “I have grounded myself in a healthy place. I did not see myself ending up where I am.”
