Shonda Rhimes will join Debbie Allen alongside other castmembers from Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice in a Get Out The Vote trivia event on Sunday, presented in partnership with MoveOn political advocacy group.
The livestreamed competition will be free to the public, though organizers ask that attendees remind three of their loved ones to vote before joining.
In addition to Rhimes and Allen, Florida rep. Maxwell Frost will attend the event, along with Shondaland actors Kate Walsh, Amy Brenneman, Jessica Capshaw, Midori Francis, Jason George, Anthony Hill, Chris, Lowell, James Pickens Jr., Harry Shum Jr. and KaDee Strickland.

I love this show as much as the next fan, but the promo for next week’s episode has me anxious. We’re digging into Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 4 spoilers, so buckle up!
It’s a very brief 30-second clip showing Violet and Novak doing what they do best: saving a life.
But thanks to a risky move on Violet’s part to save a pregnant woman and her baby, our girl may have landed in hot water.
(Peter Gordon/NBC) Violet Mikami, 51’s Surgeon Extraordinaire
Immediately, the promo reminded me of two iconic Grey’s Anatomy scenes.
In both, resident Ben Warren performs crash C-sections on patients in environments that are less than ideal.
It looks like that’s exactly what Violet is going to do in Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 4.
If anyone on this show can pull something like that off, it’s Violet.
She’s more than capable of delivering this baby,...

One Chicago fans are reeling after the most recent events of all three NBC hits.
Chicago P.D. gave fans adrenaline-fueled anxiety for a full hour, while Chicago Med raised ethical questions among doctors.
Chicago Fire focused on character development, and we learned a little more about the kind of people Damon and Pascal are. Until the episode is out, we’re looking ahead at Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 3 spoilers to see what’s to come.
(NBC/Peter Gordon)
It’s tough to guess what is coming next for many of 51’s top players, but one thing is obvious: things are about to get intense.
The showrunners reminded us in the promo for next week’s episode that no one on this show is safe, and it looks like we could be looking at another tragic Chicago Fire death.

Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 2 came out swinging with intense calls and in-house drama, and we’re here for it.
After last week’s relatively uneventful premiere, Wednesday’s hottest firefighter show brought us an hour with a few more teeth in it.
The episode leaned in a surprising direction with a few more details about 118’s new chief, Damon caused friction in Stellaride land, and as for Carvolet … well, I’ll get to that.
(NBC/Peter Gordon) Herrmann Passes the Smell Test
I don’t say this lightly.
This Herrmann-smells-sexy storyline was my favorite light-hearted bit Chicago Fire has ever done.
First, who can resist a long-standing couple who still gets hot and bothered by each other?

The Chicago Fire cast introduced a surprise character during the season premiere.
Much of the episode dealt with the new chief at Firehouse 51 and his different leadership style.
Actor Dermot Mulroney plays Chief Dom Pascal, a mysterious new character within the One Chicago universe.
Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) left during the previous season finale, but the character still resides in Chicago. It’s possible that he could pop up now and then, much like how Jesse Spencer pops in and out as Matthew Casey.
Chief Pascal ushered in many changes at Firehouse 51 during that first episode, including chats after each call with his lieutenants.
As the season premiere wrapped up, Chief Pascal was shown arriving at home after an extended shift. He found the locks changed.
A window to the house opened, revealing the person we would later learn was Monica Pascal, his estranged wife.
Much more will come...

Chicago Fire saw some major shifts in season 12. The premiere had Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosendale) saying goodbye to be with family in Detroit. Halfway through the season, Kara Killmer departed after Sylvie Brett finally married Matt Casey. There was also drama, such as Herrmann suffering some hearing loss and having to wear hearing aids.
However, the season 12 finale was a bigger turn that will shake up the show majorly!
What happened in the Chicago Fire season 12 finale?
Realizing that letting Robinson become Deputy Commissioner would be a disaster, Boden threw his hat into the ring. Thanks to Kidd’s emotional speech, Boden landed the job, which was a wonderful reward for his years of service. It does mean leaving 51 and Boden made it clear he thought Herrmann should be his successor.
Mouch planned to take the lieutenant’s exam while Damon got into a physical fight with an abusive father.

There is a lot of change coming in Chicago Fire season 13. We sat down with showrunner Andrea Newman to discuss those changes and get teases of things to expect.
The end of season 12 saw something we didn’t expect to happen. Chief Boden left Firehouse 51. It was for a good reason, but it means change, and change isn’t always good. There was hope that Herrmann would end up in Boden’s chair in season 13, but that isn’t happening right away.
Dermot Mulroney is coming into the series as the new Chief of Firehouse 51 instead. We talked with Newman about what this meant, along with discussing Violet’s journey of love after loss and some hints of things to come for Cruz.

Chicago Fire returns with Season 13 this fall, but there will be some major differences. There are some big-time cast member changes, and some other new additions are coming to the series. This is something happening to all the One Chicago shows, and here is what you need to know about this specific show.
Chicago Fire: Who Is Leaving In Season 13?
The biggest departure for Chicago Fire Season 13 is Eamonn Walker as Wallace Boden. While Boden is not leaving the series, he is stepping down as a regular cast member. He resigned as the chief and will instead move into a role as Deputy Commissioner. This means the show will need to replace him as chief.

Fans were certainly excited to find out that Boden wanted Herrmann to take over as Chief at 51 in Chicago Fire. However, it’s clear that will not be the case.
At the end of Chicago Fire season 12, Boden moved on. He’s heading to HQ, but that wasn’t with some sadness. He’ll miss Firehouse 51, and he wants to make sure it is in good hands. While Severide was the Acting Chief for some time, Boden told Herrmann that he wanted Herrmann to take over. It would require some exams to get Herrmann to Captain and then Chief, but it was possible.
Herrmann was certainly taken aback. We could see the shock on his face, but he didn’t turn down the opportunity. It gave fans hope that Herrmann would end up taking over in Chicago Fire season 13.

NBC’s Chicago Fire has upped Jake Lockett to series regular for Season 13, Deadline has confirmed.
Lockett joined the firefighter drama in the recurring role of Firefighter Sam Carver in Season 11. As of last season, things have been getting hot and steamy between Carver and paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).

We also confirmed Jocelyn Hudon, who plays Paramedic Lyla Novak, has also been upped to series regular in June.

Chicago Fire is not done dishing out surprises. We were already processing the fact that Dermot Mulroney will be Firehouse 51's new chief, and now, we know that KaDee Strickland, former star of Private Practice (2017-13), will also be joining the show in season 13.
Strickland's role is actually tied to Mulroney's. It was already confirmed that Mulroney will play Dom Pascal, a veteran firefighter who is moving to the Windy City from Florida. He has a more relaxed vibe than his predecessor, and an estranged wife who lives nearby. Strickland will play the estranged wife.

The new chief officially has a love interest on Chicago Fire. The only problem is, she seems to be an old flame rather than one that still burns for him. Deadline reported that the NBC disaster procedural has added KaDee Strickland as a a recurring star for the show’s upcoming new season. She’ll portray Monica Pascal, the estranged wife of Fire Chief Dom Pascal (incoming series regular Dermot Mulroney). Strickland is known for her prior work in series like Cruel Summer and Private Practice. Dom Pascal, the character, was added to the firehouse in Season 13 after the exit of Boden (Eamonn Walker) from his chief position. The character was written out of his leadership role in the Season 12 finale, as he decides to pursue a position as Deputy Commissioner. Before Boden was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, he had chosen Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) as his successor. The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Grudge (2004) was Written and Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
If there was one thing the early noughties had in an abundance, especially within the horror genre, it was remakes. We were graced with reboots, or re-imaginings, whatever you want to call them, of the likes of Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes, The Amityville Horror, House of Wax, Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake from 2007 and The Ring. However, despite the decent quality of those examples, well most of them, one thing that stands out in the film we’re focusing on today, The Grudge (watch it Here), is the fact that the original’s director, Takashi Shimizu, chose to also take on the remake. In 2002 the aforementioned The Ring,...

Sadie Stanley and Lexi Underwood in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 6 (Freeform/Ricardo Hubbs)
Did season two episode six of Freeform’s Cruel Summer bring more answers or more questions? Given the previous five episodes, it’s unlikely we’ll get any real answers until the season finale. Episode six certainly didn’t do anything but muddy the water.

July 30th, 1999
December 30th, 1999
December 30th, 2000
Summer of 1999
Isabella (Lexi Underwood) informs Megan (Sadie Stanley) that she broke up with Luke. She claims she couldn’t be with him anymore knowing that Megan likes him.
Megan plans a 17th birthday party at her house for Luke with the help of his brother, Brent (Braeden De La Garza). As she’s ordering him around, Brent urges her to relax. He leaves with the parting words, “Just trust me, this party is going to be something Luke will never forget.

Cruel Summer’s unexpected Private Practice family reunion was “a very lucky accident,” according to new showrunner Elle Triedman.
The Freeform drama’s Season 2 premiere on Monday introduced viewers to a complicated teenage love triangle between Megan (played by Sadie Stanley), Isabella (Lexi Underwood) and Luke (Griffin Gluck). Freeform’s Cruel Summer season two episode two begins the same way as episode one did, but this time the dates are July 18th, 1999, December 18th, 1999, and July 18th, 2000. Episode one took place on July 16th, December 15th, and July 16th.
Just to make it easier to follow the story, this recap’s going to split the action into three separate time periods instead of following the events in the order they aired. Jumping around in time periods is fine for the show but not super helpful when you’re reading a recap and trying to figure out who did what to whom and when.
The Summer of 1999:
Isabella (Lexi Underwood) writes a letter to Lisa, her best friend back home, about how messing with the people in this new town is going to be fun, but there is just one obstacle.

Limited series have become the equivalent of trial marriages for cable networks and streamers. When they don’t catch fire — or run hot initially only to smolder by season’s end – they complete their self-contained stories and disappear into the void. (It’s technically not a cancellation!) But when the audience falls in love with a limited series, networks are more than happy to extend the runway, even when doing so is narratively prohibitive.
Such is the case with Freeform’s “Cruel Summer,” the intelligent, twisty teen mystery that debuted in 2021 and became the most-watched series since the network’s 2016 rebrand. Technically, “Cruel Summer” wasn’t announced as a limited series, but it came to such a comprehensive conclusion that extending it after its wrapped up state would have reeked of desperation. After considering multiple options, including having the same ensemble return as new characters, the producers opted to anthologize the show,...

The first season of Cruel Summer was an unexpected hit for Freeform back in 2021 when it became the No. 1 new cable drama among women. The series had a great hook: the story was divided across three years, each visually distinct, following the same characters as their circumstances changed in relation to a central mystery.
In season one, that was the kidnapping of a popular girl. In season two of showrunner Elle Triedman‘s anthology series, the stakes have escalated to murder.
Just like before, the action involves two high school girls: risk-averse, straight A student Megan Landry (Sadie Stanley) and Isabella Larue (Lexi Underwood), the wealthy daughter of diplomats. The latter girl is essentially an exchange student who comes to stay with Megan and her family – mom Debbie (KaDee Strickland) and younger sister Lily (Jenna Lamb) – for a year in the small Pacific North West tourist town of Chatam.

Unlike so many other ill-fated stabs at the anthology format, the second season of Cruel Summer counts on some rather distinct storytelling techniques, including frequent jumps between three different timelines. Each period is separated by mere months yet signifies a huge shift in the lives of its protagonists—often with the help of unmistakable fashion makeovers and ostentatious color filters. The result is another kitschy season of the Bert V. Royal series that’s nevertheless rewarding for its ambitious, unpredictable thrills.
The show’s first timeline is set in the summer of 1999, with studious 17-year-old Megan Landry (Sadie Stanley) dismayed at her mother Debbie’s (KaDee Strickland) decision to host exchange student Isabella Larue (Lexi Underwood), who was born in the United States but spent most of her life abroad. Jessica Biel rose to stardom in the early 2000s-era of movies, starring in films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Stealth, Blade: Trinity, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, not to mention her time on hit series 7th Heaven. Now, the actress returns to that Y2K nostalgia as an executive producer of Freeform’s Cruel Summer, now in its second season.
“It just brought me back to my youth,” Biel told The Hollywood Reporter at the show’s season two Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday night. “It brought me back to being a young woman in Hollywood and a young woman trying to work through this business and the world at this time when technology was changing so much — fashion and music and everything. Cruel Summer returns as an anthology with a fresh mystery and cast when its highly anticipated second season premieres Monday, June 5th. Executive produced by Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple, the first season of Cruel Summer was a critical and ratings smash, making it Freeform’s most-watched series in network history.
Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan (Sadie Stanley), Isabella (Eloise Payet) and Megan’s best friend Luke (Griffin Gluck), the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward.
Other cast members include KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada, Sean Blakemore and Paul Adelstein.

It's been 10 years since "Private Practice" came to an end, but we have some good news for fans of the Oceanside Wellness crew: there's a mini reunion, of sorts, headed to Freeform. "Cruel Summer" is officially returning for season two on June 5, featuring a brand new storyline and fresh cast that will reunite KaDee Strickland ("Private Practice"'s Charlotte King), Paul Adelstein (Cooper Freedman), and Griffin Gluck (Mason Warner). As a refresher, Gluck played Adelstein's son on the show, and Strickland was Adelstein's wife and Gluck's stepmom. In "Cruel Summer," however, Strickland portrays Sadie Stanley's mom, Debbie Landry, while Gluck once again plays Adelstein's son, Luke Chambers.
Of reuniting with Adelstein and Gluck, Strickland tells Popsugar, "The three of us were so obnoxious in the beginning because we were reliving everything around everyone." Strickland reveals the crew put up a "really sweet image" of Adelstein and Gluck from their...

"Cruel Summer" Season 2 Is Full of Twists and Turns: "[Fans Will] Be Really Surprised by the Ending"
Nothing is quite as it seems in season two of "Cruel Summer." Freeform's breakout anthology series officially returns this summer with a new mystery and a fresh cast led by "Little Fires Everywhere" star Lexi Underwood, Disney's Sadie Stanley, and "Locke & Key"'s Griffin Gluck. Set in a small Pacific Northwest town, the second installment centers on a complicated love triangle between friends Megan Landry (Stanley), Isabella Larue (Underwood), and Luke Chambers (Gluck) and a mysterious incident that changes their lives forever.
"I don't want to spoil anything, but the mystery is going to be very hard to move on from," Stanley tells Popsugar. "The events that happen are life-changing. The stakes are really high this season." Though it follows a completely new storyline, similar to the first season, the second chapter is told through three different timelines surrounding Y2K, which is part of what drew Stanley...

Cruel Summer is brewing another mystery, and this one promises to be a cut above the original.
Freeform unveiled the official trailer for Cruel Summer Season 2 on Monday afternoon, and we have many questions.
While Freeform dished plenty of details about the second season earlier this year, there have been questions about where the story will go.
For starters, we have a love triangle between Meghan Landry (Sadie Stanley), Isabella Larue (Lexi Underwood) and Meghan's best friend Luke Chambers (Griffin Gluck).
Freeform says the focal characters will be a part of three timelines as they navigate a "mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward."
Meghan and Isabella find themselves getting questioned by the sheriff at the beginning of the trailer.
"When did you first learn your friend was missing?" he asks Meghan.
"I've already told you like 10 times," she fires back.
As for Isabella, the sheriff seemingly...
