Since January has given us an extra week, we decided to do a special Kickstarter episode! Sometimes there are amazing comic book creators who’s fantastic ideas could use a bit of help from fans in order to get us a finished book. We are featuring two great writers who are starting Kickstarter campaigns to promote their titles. From the LRMOnline family we have Kat Kalamia and Omar Morales writer for “Cruzader: Agent of the Vatican” and Guinness World Record holder for the largest comic book published. Kat is promoting her title “Life Father, Like Daughter” and Omar talks about the “Not Forgotten” anthology he is working on. We then venture into our Top 5 independent comics and finish off with the books for the week!

The Golden Globes! Everyone’s favorite Almost-the-Oscars ceremony. The 72nd Annual nominations were unveiled Thursday morning by presenters Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Paula Patton, Peter Krause and Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Theo Kingma.
The HFPA went in big on Boyhood, The Imitation Game, Birdman, and The Theory of Everything, placing Birdman into the Comedy/Musical category where it is likely to clean up. Missing from the bunch are heavy hitters like Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper and only a single nomination for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
On the TV front, it was a big morning for Transparent, Orange is the New Black, The Affair, and House of Cards, while snubbing Emmy favorites Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, as well as hits like The Walking Dead, The Americans, Mad Men or the final season of Boardwalk Empire.

Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Peter Krause, and Paula Patton all got up early, like most of us movie buffs, for the big reveal! The 2015 Golden Globe Nominations! The usual suspects triumphed at the nominations such as "Boyhood," "Foxcatcher," "Selma," "The Imitation Game," and "The Theory of Everything." Missing was one of my favorite films of the year, "Whiplash" but it got one nod for J.K. Simmons' performance.
Also missing in the big categories is Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" which only received one nomination, Best Original Score. Watch the film to get kudos from the Academy in the technical categories.
We'll find out the winners of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 11, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return as our hosts of the evening and it will be broadcast live on NBC.
Here's the complete list of nominees of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards:...

Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Jeremy Piven, and Paula Patton were awake bright and early this morning to help announce the nominees for the twenty-five categories of the 72nd annual Golden Globes.
Biopics reigned supreme at this year’s nomination ceremony with Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, Selma, andThe Theory of Everything picking up nominations for Best Motion Picture (Drama). The sole fictional work in the category is Richard Linklater’s coming of age project, Boyhood.
Linklater also received a Best Director nomination along with David Fincher (Gone Girl), Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman), Ava DuVernay (Selma), and Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel. Anderson’s film was also nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).
In the Best Actor (Drama) category, Steve Carell, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Eddie Redmayne were obvious, popular picks, but major kudos go out to the Globes for also nominating Selma’s David Oyelowo...

Photo: RopeofSilicon / Brad Brevet This morning, the 2015 Golden Globe Award nominations were announced by Kate Beckinsale, Jeremy Piven, Peter Krause and Paula Patton in 25 categories and like yesterday's Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, it's Birdman leading the pack with seven total nominations. Boyhood and The Imitation Game follow with five each and it's Gone Girl, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Selma and The Theory of Everything finishing with four nominations each. The first notable nominations are those for Selma after being snubbed yesterday by the Screen Actors Guild in all categories. Director Ava DuVernay scored a nomination while star David Oyelowo, playing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was also nominated for Best Actor in a Drama. The Grand Budapest Hotel also continues on a nice little run, perhaps largely thanks to the Globes nominating for categories in drama and comedy/musical, but who's complainingc Along with a nomination for Best Comedy/Musical,...

Want to get comic book creators talking on Twitter? Well, starting a hash tag like #replaceawordinafamousquotewithduck is a great place to start. The feed has been loaded with movie quotes tweaked to reference ducks for the last 24 hours, and Simon Spurrier and Brandon Jerwa contributed two of our favorite entries.
Gail Simone got into the creative spirit as well. Whereas some complainers online just whine, waiting for a new iPad 3 announcement. She apparently decided to make her own. Find out how, see who's psyched for "Torchwood: Miracle Day," and see what Bryan Lee O'Malley would call a Scott Pilgrim book based on his life after the jump.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for July 8, 2011.
@radiomaru If Scott Pilgrim was autobiographical it'd be called "Scott Pilgrim Vs Dog Poo And Cat Poo"

We’ve received all the covers for DC Comics July solicitations, including the long awaited Games, the New Teen Titans graphic novel from Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. And when I say long awaited, I mean two decades long– which kinda ties in with all the DC Retroactive titles coming out, including our favorite, Green Lantern reuniting the team of ComicMix contributors Dennis O’Neil and Mike Grell.

Though the economy was still in dire straits, Broadway carried on during the 2009-10 season, with visits from such high-voltage marquee names as Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig, Christopher Walken, Denzel Washington, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Liev Schreiber, and Scarlett Johansson. A little group called Green Day rocked Broadway's world with the stage adaptation of the band's hit album "American Idiot," Twyla Tharp paid tribute to Frank Sinatra in "Come Fly Away," and Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins formed a "Million Dollar Quartet." "Fela!," Bill T. Jones' combination dance party, concert, and musical biography, transferred to the Main Stem from its Off-Broadway run, as did Geoffrey Nauffts' tender and moving play "Next Fall." "Red" and "Time Stands Still" offered searing portraits of artists coping with crises, while Sarah Ruhl's "In the Next Room or the vibrator play" captured the repressive Victorian era. Broadway fare also...

Although most pilots -- especially on the comedy side -- are yet to be completed, several projects are enjoying early buzz based on screenings, testings, dailies or the strength of their script and cast.
ABC's sci-fi drama "Flash Forward" starring Joseph Fiennes is a lock for a series order.
Also hot on the drama side at ABC are "Happy Town," "Eastwick" and "Inside the Box," with "Limelight," "V" and the Dave Hemingson project also looking good. Last year's pilot "Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas," which didn't make the cut in August, is back in contention, now for next season.
On the comedy side, "An American Family," the untitled Ricky Blitt project starring Alyssa Milano, and "Cedric" are being buzzed about, along with the Courteney Cox starrer "Cougar Town."
At Fox, the comic book-based "Human Target," directed by Simon West and starring Jackie Earle Haley, is considered a shoo-in, joining the already ordered "Glee.
