The musical fantasy film Cats, released in 2019, turned out to be a box-office bomb despite the big names attached to it. To start with, the movie was based on American composer and impresario of musical theatre, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s eponymous Broadway musical.
A still from Cats
Webber’s Broadway musical Cats has impressed millions of fans over the years. However, the movie adaptation failed to bring the same magic to the screens and became a huge disappointment for the composer. So much so, that it led to the impresario buying a dog just to live with the trauma of having his musical butchered for the screens.

Jonathan Majors was sentenced Monday to a 52-week domestic-abuse prevention program after being convicted in December of recklessly assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
The former Marvel actor was solemn during proceedings, declining to make a statement. Judge Michael Gaffey noted that “jail is not necessary” for the misdemeanor domestic violence offense, but said Majors is expected to complete the intensive course in person. He is also barred from owning or applying for a license to obtain a firearm.
Jabbari was granted a full order of protection against Majors.

A couple years ago, Spooky Pinball LLC created a pinball machine inspired by John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween, and last month they announced that they’re building a Texas Chainsaw Massacre pinball machine, inspired by Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic. Now the folks at Stern Pinball Inc. have unveiled a trailer for the latest pinball machine they’ve made, inspired by another ’70s classic – and another one of the best movies ever made – director Steven Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster Jaws! You can watch the trailer for the pinball machine in the embed above.
According to a press release, this pinball machine has “brand-new mechanical features inspired by iconic movie moments and state-of-the-art technology. Jaws transports players to the fictional locale of Amity Island, located off the coast of Long Island, New York. The small fishing community is a popular beach vacation location in the summer. Just like family! Virgin River Season 5 recently dropped on Netflix, and the new episodes had us wondering if the cast is as close in real life as they are on screen. Well, when it comes to series stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, the answer is yes.
Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are friends in real life
Breckenridge and Henderson play fan-favorite couple Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan in Virgin River. While the pair have a serious romance on-screen, in real life, the two actors are not a couple. However, they are good friends.
“I’m really good friends with Zibby Allen [who plays Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan], and Martin [Henderson],” Breckenridge revealed in an interview with The List. “Those are my two closest. They’re my friends; they’re my people.”
It’s not unusual for Henderson to share videos of himself and Breckenridge goofing around on set on Instagram. He’s also called his Virgin River...

The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Mike Conway, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
The video which you are about to see is an account of a small group of filmmakers in the area of Austin, Texas in the summer of 1973. Their intent was to make a motion picture which was unlike anything ever seen. For them, the idyllic summer shoot became a nightmare from the low budget, sweltering Texas heat, and the treacheries from fraudulent investors. The events of that summer were led to the release of one of the most terrifying films in the annals of cinema history, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (watch it Here).
Have you ever had a conversation with friends or even made the occasional Google search on what would be considered the scariest movie of all time?...

Spoilers for "Star Trek: Picard" follow.
"Star Trek: Picard" season 3 has promised to be a grand finale for the "Next Generation" cast. Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) has finally reunited his whole bridge crew from Enterprise-d -- also appearing are Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) from "Star Trek: Voyager" and the Changelings, the antagonists of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."
Despite running headfirst down nostalgia lane, the final season has some new characters too. One is Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick), captain of the USS Titan-a. Shaw is no fan of Picard or Seven because he has a grudge against the Borg. Why? He was at the Battle of Wolf 359, depicted in the classic "Next Generation" episode, "The Best of Both Worlds." A Borg Cube, led by tactical info gleaned from the assimilated Picard (aka Locutus), decimated the Starfleet forces. Shaw was part of the engineering crew on the USS Constance and...

This post contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" season 3, episode 5.
The latest episode of "The Mandalorian" ended with a pair of movie nods that are sure to resonate in the minds of any cinephile. The first arrived in the form of a "Jaws" reference, with Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) coming across a downed Lambda shuttle much like Hooper and Brody stumble upon Ben Gardner's damaged boat in Steven Spielberg's classic horror movie.
But Carson Teva needs more information than just a visual of the shuttle. He has to go in deeper. To that end, he has his droid enter and then scan the interior of the ship. Popping off one of its panels, Teva's droid goes in and starts beaming out a thin blue light, looking over the insides of the ship.
Eagle-eyed movie fans will see this for exactly what it is: a nod to...

Recently, I wrote an article for the Movies Unlimited home blog, MovieFanFare, offering my quickly selected picks for 10 “desert island” movies, those films which, were I forced to choose, I felt (in those moments writing the article, anyway) I would be carting along with me to enjoy during my eternal vacation/banishment on said remote locale.
Now, monsterfans, wipe those memories of Stephen King’s gruesome short story “Survivor Type” from your mind and assume all of your other creature comforts are as normal as they could possibly be (so that you don’t have to worry about minor concerns like hacking off your own body parts for food!), and pick those 10 masterworks of the horror genre you’re going to be forced to live with for the rest of your days. I completed my own “Rorschach test” in this regard below. It was tough. I...
