If you live in America and want to watch "The Big Bang Theory" right now, there are a half-dozen different ways you can legally do so. The show is on Max, TBS, and Spectrum, and you can rent it or purchase it digitally on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and elsewhere. It's also available via bundles and in reruns, and depending on how you feel about the nerd culture sitcom that ended in 2019, it might even be a bit too ubiquitous.
The show's geek appeal has spread all over the world, but around the time of its eighth season, it actually became unavailable in one major global market for reasons that were never fully explained. With the potential third season of Big Little Lies still up in the air, Shailene Woodley is reflecting on how it all started.
The 2x Golden Globe nominee recently gave an update on Season 3 as she recalled how “my sister,” co-star Laura Dern, convinced her to sign on to the HBO series adaptation of Liane Moriarty‘s book, which ran for two seasons from 2017 to 2019.
“I got a call, I’ll never forget it. It was November or October of 2015. I was really sick at the time and I was not at all exhausted by acting or the artistry and the craft of storytelling, but I was really exhausted by the act of Hollywood,” she told Vanity Fair. “And I got a call about Big Little Lies because Jean-Marc Vallée — our beautiful creator, director, who has since passed — had wanted me to play Jane. Presumed Innocent Season 2 to Ditch Scott Turow Source Material, Adapt Unreleased Novel In Its Place
Presumed Innocent became an instant smash when it debuted on Apple TV+ over the summer.
So it comes as no surprise that what was once a limited series has now been renewed for a second season.
Of course, situations like this usually mean that the showrunners didn’t have a roadmap for future episodes. And in this case, they’ve decided to take a hard left turn into parts unknown.

According to a new report from Deadline, Presumed Innocent Season 2 will ditch the source material that helped to make the first version such a success.
Those episodes were based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow.
Season 2, however, will adapt a different legal thriller, Dissection of a Murder by Jo Murray.
Unfortunately, this one doesn’t come with a built-in audience, like Turow’s wildly popular 1987 book.

The case isn’t closed yet. Another season of Presumed Innocent is on the way at Apple TV+, and details about the second round of the legal drama are starting to come through. Here’s what we know so far about Presumed Innocent Season 2. Who will star in Presumed Innocent Season 2? While a full cast list has not yet been announced for Presumed Innocent‘s second season, at least one star from Season 1 has declared he won’t be back: Peter Sarsgaard told IndieWire, “I’m not really that interested in sequels. I think I’ve only ever done one season of anything… I think I’m a one-season person.” Sarsgaard portrayed Tommy Molto, the prosecutor who went after Rusty Sabich in the murder trial at the center of Season 1. Meanwhile, Jake Gyllenhaal, who portrayed Rusty Sabich in Season 1, will return as executive producer alongside the show’s creator David E. Kelley,...

Exclusive: Like other successful limited series that have became ongoing ones following their breakout success, Apple TV+‘s legal thriller Presumed Innocent did not have a blueprint for a second season.
Season 1 was based on Scott Turow’s bestselling novel of the same name but, as Deadline pointed out at the time of the renewal, there was no obvious path to continue the series from Turow’s body of work. Season 2 of the show, executive produced by David E. Kelley, J.J. Abrams and Season 1 star Jake Gyllenhaal and co-exec produced by Turow, is taking a completely different path with a female lead, Leila Reynolds, succeeding Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich.
According to sources, Apple TV+ and producing studio Warner Bros. TV have acquired the rights to Dissection of a Murder, the upcoming debut legal thriller by Jo Murray. The book, set for a spring 2026 publication by Pam Macmillan, follows Leila Reynolds...

Shailene Woodley revealed how Hollywood “is pretty circular” when it comes to sustainable style, and how her newest daily routine is helping her adopt a more eco-conscious lifestyle.
“I spent six months in one place this year, which is the first time I’ve done that since I was 17,” the 32-year-old star told The Hollywood Reporter at Uber’s Go-Get Zero event on Oct. 8 in London. “So that was a big deal for me and I picked up a lot of habits. Just having a daily routine, it turns out, is so sustainable. I find for myself, when I am in one place for a long period of time, I tend to eat the same thing every day. I tend to be able to meal plan easier. I do most of my own cooking. And so there’s ways to participate in the local economy and the local infrastructure. For me,...

The Ted Humphrey-created, and David E. Kelley executive-produced series “The Lincoln Lawyer” finally returns for season 3. Adapted from Michael Connelly’s series of books about the titular Lincoln Lawyer, Mickey Haller, the show is a ratings hit on Netflix precisely because it is both an old-school throwback to network TV legal dramas, with an added sheen afforded to Netflix shows. It almost emulates the “sunny blue-skies era” of the USA Network, which made “Suits” get a gigantic second wind when it dropped on Netflix.
Most importantly after the success of “Bosch” on Prime Video and its spinoff on the sister channel Freevee, Netflix wanted to hop on the Connelly bandwagon. While “The Lincoln Lawyer” isn’t as good as “Bosch,” it has a consistency in terms of story and vibe and perfectly dependable filmmaking that allows it to be a streamable experience, even as the show fumbled majorly in the second season.

“Big Little Lies” Season 3 is still in the works, but the holdup is Liane Moriarty. Reese Witherspoon revealed as much during a recent interview with E! News.
“We’re waiting for Liane Moriarty. She’s going to be turning in something very soon. We’re back to the original author and we’re going to go back to the original characters,” Witherspoon said during a red carpet. “It’s exciting, too, because I think the kids are probably a little bit older now.”
Witherspoon admitted that she doesn’t know if the ages of the children will impact this new installment. The star also confirmed that Nicole Kidman is still interested and involved.
In fact, it was Kidman who first revealed that a third season was possible. Last November during a Q-and-a at the Cme Group Tour Championship, Kidman said, “I love ‘Big Little Lies’ … We will be bringing you a third one,...

A quarter century ago, Happy Days fans probably bugged out when their beloved Henry Winkler played a dentist with a cockroach fetish in a September 1999 episode of ABC’s The Practice. But good luck finding that episode now. David E. Kelley’s hit legal drama, the finale of which turned 20 this year, isn’t streaming anywhere — after Hulu dropped it last September — meaning viewers can’t revisit that case or any of the other bizarre plot lines below. Here are our picks for The Practice’s wildest cases — and we’ve given each a title that might sound familiar! Monkey Business In Season 2’s “Sex, Lies and Monkeys,” Jimmy (Michael Badalucco) defends a man who was fired because his body hair reminded his boss of a primate’s. Example dialogue: “It was hard for me to get other work ’cause of what he said. Hard for me to even go on interviews,...

Ryan Murphy is having a banner fall.
The viewership numbers for his buzzy Netflix series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” are very good. In its second week of eligibility, the true crime drama created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk secured 19.5 million views on Netflix, holding on to the No. 1 English-language TV series from last week and becoming the most watched Netflix title of the week. This comes after the second season of the crime series saw 12.3 million views in its first four days of availability.
In fact, the numbers for nearly every one of the super producer’s fall shows spanning four different networks and streamers have been, well, monster hits. In the past 10 days, Murphy launched or returned five different series across network and cable including the new “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” and “Grotesquerie” on FX and the new “Doctor Odyssey” on ABC as well as...

This post contains spoilers for "Agatha All Along" episode 3.
Three episodes in, and it's clear that "Agatha All Along" won't be keeping with its predecessor's TV show satirizing format ... for the most part. After a series premiere that kicked off with a prestige crime drama parody (Kathryn Hahn's Agatha went full "Mare of Easttown" with a dash of "True Detective: Night Country"), the show's second episode mostly played its plot straight, with nary a runtime-spanning pop culture homage in sight. The third episode continues this trend at first, with Agatha's coven setting off on the Witches' Road. But the show's TV-loving writers clearly can't help but throw in a nod to a show or two, as they do when the gang finds a sleek, bougie house in the middle of the road.
When the witches step into the house, they're suddenly dressed head to toe in luxury loungewear...

More adaptations of Elin Hildebrand’s addictive beach reads are seemingly on their way, which spells good news for fans of the delectable six-episode Netflix adaptation of her murder mystery The Perfect Couple.
Since landing on Netflix on September 5, The Perfect Couple has exceeded expectations, not only racking up sizable viewership on the streamer but also going viral on social media for its wacky, tonally different opening credit dance sequence.
The series tallied 10.4M views in its second full week on the streamer from September 16 to 22, coming in second place among TV, bested only by Ryan Murphy’s true crime drama Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which launched last Wednesday. It even beat Season 4B of Emily in Paris, which had its first full week of availability. That’s after it easily stole the top spot on the last two lists, accumulating more than 20M views in its debut weekend.

This post contains spoilers for the premiere of the new CBS drama Matlock, which is now streaming on Paramount+.
Ordinarily, a spoiler warning like the one above shouldn’t be necessary for a show like Matlock, a reboot of the Andy Griffith legal drama, which ran for close to a decade in the Eighties and Nineties. If you’re old enough, you might have seen the Griffith version, in which he played attorney Ben Matlock, whose old age and folksy demeanor left his opponents unprepared for his brilliant legal tactics.

Julie Bowen may have become a household name on ABC’s Modern Family. However, the actress who played Claire Dunphy, the mom of three, has played many other roles that showed off her versatility. Although her character on the show was hardworking, sarcastic, and responsible to a fault with a tendency to micromanage, not all the star’s roles have had the same qualities. In fact, years before she took on the role, the 54-year-old picked up characters that were rather different from the one most fans remember her in.

Okay, I’ll bite. The Green Lantern movie wasn’t the worst on-screen DC superhero project to come out of 2011, especially when you compare it to the unaired TV pilot of Wonder Woman. Starring Adrianne Palicki – yes, she of Agents of Shield – this was the brainchild of Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley. So, how bad was it? If it makes Green Lantern look good, you […]

There are actors who like to work and actors who love to work. Nicole Kidman has always belonged in the latter group. But lately, the two-time Emmy winner’s rigorous efforts to entertain have started to backfire. People are taking issue with her performances, her projects, and the overlap in each — specifically, when it comes to TV. What began as mere observations of chance similarities have escalated in recent months to reverberating reproach. Is Kidman making too much TV? Too much bad TV? Or is she simply a victim of timing and circumstance, as all famous and assiduous thespians are at one point or another?
Solving the problem begins by recognizing there is one, and in Kidman’s near-decade of steady TV work, patterns have emerged. Many of her TV picks — starting with HBO’s “Big Little Lies” in 2017 and running through this September’s Netflix series, “The Perfect Couple” — have been book adaptations.
