It’s time to return to the Innie and Outie world of Lumon Industries.
The first look at Season 2 of Apple Original series “Severance” picks up where Mark (Adam Scott), Dylan (Zach Cherry), Helly (Britt Lower), and Irving (John Turturro) have left off: escaping into the real world outside of their corporate cubicles and trying to free themselves from capitalist tutelage.
The footage debuted at the 2024 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference.
Ben Stiller directs and executive produces the critically acclaimed series which follows controversial tech company Lumon, whose workers opted for experimental procedures to have an alternate work self. Patricia Arquette portrays the Lumon boss, who blurs the lines between Innies, Outies, personal, and professional by stalking employees outside of work.
Season 2 was announced in April 2022, with Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, and more stars joining the cast.

From Pawnee City Hall to the bowels of Lumon Industries, Adam Scott’s acting career has revolved around the American workplace.
The actor, largely known for comedies, just nabbed his first Emmy nomination for portraying Mark S. in “Severance,” Apple TV+’s disquieting drama from creator Dan Erickson. The show picked up a total of 14 nominations, from acting to recognition for production design, casting, directing, editing, title design, and music composition.
“I’m still sort of absorbing it, the shock of it,” Scott told IndieWire over the phone less than two hours after nominations were announced. “I was not expecting it and couldn’t be more pleasantly and delightfully surprised — that sounds a little whimsical, but I am really just so, so happy for the show and Dan and Patricia and John and Chris — all the actors because they all made this show what it is, everybody that was nominated...

“The Other Two” creators Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider are developing a half-hour comedy series at HBO, Variety has learned.
The untitled series is described as a dark, psychological comedy set in the year 2000, about a closeted gay teen who constantly dissociates and imagines he’s a famous straight actor merely playing the role. That is, until he meets someone who upends his entire way of thinking.
Kelly and Schneider are co-writing the project and will serve as executive producers. Adam Scott and Naomi Scott will also executive produce under their Gettin’ Rad Productions banner.
The development news comes after it was announced that HBO Max had renewed “The Other Two” for a third season. The show aired its first season on Comedy Central before migrating to the WarnerMedia streaming service. The show has received critical acclaim for both of its seasons to date, with Variety‘s Daniel D’Addario writing...

San Diego (California), Jan 26 (Ians) Given that there is already an array of incentives -- for instance, a $7.5 million purse, a potential winning prize of $1.35 million, and a swanky and eclectic oceanfront locale in Southern California -- one wouldn't think that talented professional golfers would find anything else to prompt them to enter the Farmers Insurance Open golf this week.
Yet that is the case with the annual tournament in San Diego, set for January 28 to 31. This PGA Tour stop -- where Marc Leishman of Australia arrives as defending champion -- never struggles to attract a stellar field, but this year the star power is even more excessive and the stage, Torrey Pines' South Course, is a big reason why.
The beefy, 7,765-yard golf course that sits high atop majestic cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean maintains such a persona that it is worthy of two top-billings in 2021. First, as site...

ABC non-scripted boss Rob Mills would be “shocked” if summer game show Holey Moley doesn’t return for a third season next summer.
Mills has also opened talks with the team behind Don’t, including Ryan Reynolds, about what a second season of the Adam Scott-hosted format looks like.
Mini-golf competition series Holey Moley has been a strong performer for the Disney-owned network this summer, up from its first season, with the broadcaster teeing up two special episodes of the show after it ends its run.
The Steph Curry-exec produced show features self-proclaimed mini-golf lovers from around the country as they compete head-to-head through an epic obstacle golf course. The second season, which premiered on July 20, saw a bigger course with new holes, more drama, trick shots and wipeouts. Hosted by Rob Riggle and Monday Night Football’s Joe Tessitore, the show is produced by Eureka Productions and Unanimous Media.

An animated “X-Files” comedy series spinoff is in the works at Fox, Variety has confirmed.
The project is currently titled “The X-Files: Albuquerque.” It has received a script and presentation commitment at the broadcaster. The show would revolve around an office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with. They’re basically the X-Files’ B-team.
“X-Files” creator Chris Carter is attached to executive produce the project, with Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko attached to write and executive produce. Gabe Rotter, who worked on the “X-Files” revival at Fox, will also executive produce. 20th Television and Fox Entertainment will produce. Bento Box will provide animation. Neither Gillian Anderson or David Duchovny is involved with the project at this time.

Back in 2008, Scott Aukerman co-created Between Two Ferns, the rare short-form series that has maintained popularity over more than a decade.
Hosted by Zach Galifianakis, the Funny or Die comedy plays with the ideas of celebrity image and the celebrity talk show appearance, watching as the comedian makes jokes at his A-list guests’ expense, and gets his fair share of barbs back.
Earning two Emmys to date for the series, Aukerman elected last year to expand its world with the Netflix film, Between Two Ferns: The Movie. Following Galifianakis and his ragtag camera crew as they embark on a road trip to complete a series of interviews, the film features improvised interviews with Awkwafina, Brie Larson, Keanu Reeves, David Letterman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Matthew McConaughey, and Hailee Steinfeld.
Ultimately, these segments would appear in the movie only in pieces, becoming their own short-form series, known as Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis: The Movie,...

“Big Brother” aired its first Thursday episode of the year, which coincided with the first eviction of season 22.
Last night’s episode, which saw Keesha Smith evicted on a crushing 13-0 vote, topped the TV ratings table with a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and around 4.1 million total viewers. That’s pretty much even with its two Wednesday episodes of the season, and up over 1 million viewers from the first Sunday episode. The rest of CBS’ lineup consisted of replays, with “Young Sheldon” leading the way at a 0.4 rating and 2.6 million viewers. “The Unicorn” and “Bull” both scored a 0.3 and around 2 million viewers each.
ABC managed to snag an overall win on the night, thanks in no small part to “Holey Moley,” which carded a birdie 0.6 rating (up from a 0.5 last time around) and 3.3 million pairs of eyeballs. An episode of “To Tell the Truth” delivered the same rating and just over 3 million viewers.

Ryan Reynolds and Adam Scott’s game show “Don’t” sandwiched the two with a 0.4 rating and 2.3 million viewers.
Both ABC and Univision averaged a 0.5 rating across the night, with the Spanish language network producing two shows which matched “Holey Moley,” namely “Te Doy La Vida” and “Como Tu No Hay Dos.” The former drew 1.8 million viewers, the latter 1.5 million. Exclusive: Creep franchise filmmaker and HBO Room 104 director Patrick Brice has boarded The Wild at HBO Max and Warner Max, a project he’ll direct and adapt from the Owen Laukkanen young female suspense novel.
The Wild, from Underlined Paperbacks, centers around Dawn. She’s not a bad person – she’s just made some bad choices: wrong guy, wrong friends, wrong everything. But she wasn’t expecting her parents to pay a boatload of money to ship her off to ‘Out of the Wild’, a wilderness boot camp with a bunch of other messed up kids to learn important “life lessons.” Dawn and the other cubs wind up learning a lot, but not what they expect, for what happens in the woods isn’t what their parents planned. Sometimes plans go very wrong. And this is one of those times. Suddenly Dawn is more scared than she’s ever been in her life.

NBC aired its hour-long reunion special “episode” on Thursday night to un-spectacular numbers.
The special, which doubled as a lengthy ad for NBCUniversal and its new streaming service, Peacock, averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and only 2.5 million viewers across its runtime. It’s of course worth nothing that multiple NBC affiliates refused to air the special due to its promotional nature, which likely contributed at least in part to those small numbers, and that the special will probably generate the bulk of its viewership on Peacock when it launches there. The special will also air tonight across a bevy of NBCU networks.
In fact, “30 Rock” was beaten in the 8 p.m. time slot by a new episode of ABC’s “Holey Moley,” which scored a 0.5 rating and 3.4 million total viewers. “Don’t,” the new game show from Ryan Reynolds and Adam Scott, followed that up with the same rating and 2.7 million total viewers.

At the beginning of each episode of Quibi’s wild “Dishmantled” food competition series, host Tituss Burgess punches a big red button to activate a cannon that splatters a pair of chefs from head-to-toe with a mysterious dish.
The chefs then have to re-create the meal that was blasted at them based on taste and touch, before presenting their effort to Burgess and a panel of guest judges. The series is a six-minute smash in the face of food, color and craziness.
Just as the dishes of pesto pasta and shepherd’s pie are de-constructed for the chefs to figure out, traditional unscripted programming has been taken apart and put back together in increasingly creative, but also off-kilter, ways.
And it’s not just competition programs such as “Dishmantled” getting this larger-than-life treatment in a quest to draw in viewers whose attention is constantly pulled in a million new directions.

Since he’s hosting the game show Don’t, Adam Scott doesn’t actually have to play the game. On one hand, that’s a bit sad for him, because he really does enjoy the game. In the bigger picture, though, he’s very happy to have the hosting role, because he told us he doubts he would have the [...]

Gold Derby: What was different about coming back for Season 2?

Holey Moley topped Thursday’s ratings in primetime with a 0.7 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 4.15 million viewers, teaming with Don’t and To Tell the Truth to help ABC sweep the night in both metrics.
Don’t, hosted by Adam Scott, dipped two tenths from its debut last week. To Tell the Truth also dropped two tenths, while Holey Moley was steady. The trio all won their respective time slots last night.
NBC countered with fresh episodes of Council of Dads, even with a week ago, and Blindspot, which grew a tenth. Fox also went with an all-original lineup, with Celebrity Watch Party steady again in the demo and Labor of Love even while ticking up in viewers.
CBS peppered in repeats, including the night’s most-watched program Sheldon, along with a new Broke, which was steady.
