- TriviaIn 2015, Burgess appeared in a Miami production of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical Into the Woods, playing The Witch--a role that was originally written for a woman and that has been played by such famous actresses as Bernadette Peters, Phylicia Rashad, Vanessa Williams, and, in the movie, Meryl Streep. In a January 2015 Playbill article by Andrew Gans, the co-runner of the producing theater said, "We wrote a letter, through MTI, addressed to Mr. Sondheim and Mr. Lapine regarding Tituss playing the Witch and we were approved! It was a special moment for us.".
