Resident Alien: Radio Harry (2022)
What happened?
Thankfully not as painful as the last episode, but still not that great. Season 1 was amazing, but season 2 has just been a let down. They need to just get back to focusing on Harry.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: Grouchy Goat (2021)
Cringe
Poppy's storyline was great, but the testers are just insufferable. They're not funny at all, it's painful watching them trying to carry a scene.
Resident Alien (2021)
Hilarious!
2 episodes in & I already love this show. I honestly haven't laughed this hard at a new show in a long time. Alan Tudyk is just perfection in this role. It's certainly worth checking out!
A Christmas Carol (2019)
Use your brain
If you didn't like this movie just because you didn't like it, then fine, but to write a review about it being inappropriate is bewildering to me. You knowingly watched a movie on FX (known to push boundaries), with a TV-MA rating & even the promos were dark & obviously not for children. So if you ignored all that & watched with your kids, then that's on you.
Doctor Foster: Episode #2.4 (2017)
The only bright spot in a trainwreck of a season
I wasn't a big fan of the first season to be honest, but season 2 was just horrible. I only kept going because I'm a big Jodie Comer fan. Unfortunately she's not even in the show that much. She's far too brilliant of an actress to underutilized like that. "Coincidentally" the only decent episode in this trainwreck of a season, is an episode primarily focused on Jodie Comer...
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Short stories, unfortunately not short enough
Well that's a couple hours I'll never get back. I guess I'm alone here, but seriously, people liked this? Aside from 1 or 2 mediocre episodes, it was a complete snoozefest. Yes, it's visually beautiful, but that's all this show has going for it. It's mostly either tired, played out stories, done a million times before, or complete random nonsense. It's just not worth the time at all.
Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox (2018)
Meh
Megan Fox is famously beautiful of course, but she's just so unenthusiastic and monotone it makes it kind of boring. The subject matter is reasonably interesting though. Some of the beliefs and theories are a bit out there for me, but to each their own. It's still fun to learn about new things and other's beliefs.
Superstore (2015)
I Give Up
This was a great show, until they ruined it by making every episode about political issues. Even if they're not taking a stance one way or the other, we get politics jammed down our throats 24/7, enough already. I watch TV to get away from it, not get more.
Fear the Walking Dead: ...I Lose Myself (2018)
Boring end to a boring season
All the new showrunners managed to do with season 4, was to run it straight into the ground. The original Walking Dead has already become a major snoozefest, but I still really enjoyed this series, that is until this season. First, they botched a great opportunity with the crossover event by picking the most boring character from TWD to bring over and make him the face of show. Then they kill off most of the remaining cast and completely bury the couple who are left, so you barely even see them. The show would be so much better if it revolved around Strand and Alicia, instead of a whole bunch of boring new characters who bring nothing to the table. Overall, just a complete disappointment of a season. And AMC wants 10 more years of this?
The White Princess (2017)
Jodie Comer is a star
I normally wouldn't write a review for this, but seeing so many negative reviews I felt compelled to. So many of those reviews are about how The White Queen was great and this didn't live up to it, but I feel the compete opposite. I found The White Queen rather boring and frankly just hard to even get through. I thought The White Princess was much better and although only filmed several years after, it has a much more modern feel to it, as far as production quality goes. I can't speak to the historical accuracy, but I really liked the storyline. To be fair, I am a big Jodie Comer fan, so I'm definitely a little biased, but I thoroughly enjoyed The White Princess a lot.
Triple 9 (2016)
Hall Of Fame Cast Meets Mediocre Writing
It seems I didn't hate this movie as much as some of the other reviewers, but it's definitely a far cry from where it should have been. The acting is still great, but with such an amazing ensemble of actors, you naturally come to expect so much more. It's not the worst movie ever made, just a let down with all the potential it had.
The Americans (2013)
The Best Show On TV
Don't let the viewer ratings or the fact you might not have ever heard of the show fool you. The Americans is by far the best show on TV. It fills the missing void left when Breaking Bad ended. The cast is phenomenal and the acting is as good as acting gets. Although it might not be the most talked about show on TV, all the top critics give it extremely high praise. And FX Network knows what a gem they have, they've always done right by the show, letting the story breathe and unravel naturally. They finally got recognized by 5 Emmy nominations in 2016, including lead actor (Matthew Rhys), lead actress (Keri Russell) & best Drama. I can't stress enough, if you like truly great TV, you absolutely need to be watching The Americans.
Angel from Hell (2016)
Just A Fun Show
Angel From Hell is hilarious and just a really fun show, if you give it a chance. It really puts a fun twist on the guardian angel concept, without being offensive. Jane Lynch is hilarious as always, but for me Kyle Bornheimer and Kevin Pollak really steal the show. The two have great chemistry together, but everyone on the show is really great though. Plus the writing is funny and clever. It's disappointing it got cancelled so early, it really grew on me and got funnier as the season went on. I think if people actually gave it a shot, they would find how funny it really is. Even though it's only one season, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new fun show.
