THANK YOU for acknowledging the times that we're in.
This show was created with built-in conflict over race. It would have been a disservice *not* to address BLM, as others are criticizing. While we all know it's a comedy, I appreciate the effort to remind us that these 2D onscreen characters represent *real* 3D people in society. If people are shallowly only looking for laughs, that is their issue. BBT had its somber moments. So did FRIENDS, CHEERS, FRASIER, WILL & GRACE, MODERN FAMILY, etc. ALL comedies anchor characters with heart, so I commend Jim Reynolds, writing staff, and CBS for "going there" to give voice to a point of view that is usually (and historically) dismissed.
And since next week's episode title mentions the Election, I'm guessing more "real life" will get sprinkled in. Lol. Bring it on! 22 minutes of sitcom treatment is SO much easier to stomach than the divisive reality out there. =) Carry on, folks! (fistbump)
