Pascal Vicedomini is one of the most highly regarded and resourceful global Italian show business figures. Founder and producer of several important film-and- music festivals such as "Capri, Hollywood - The International Film Festival [1]" (since 1995), the "Ischia Global Film & Music Fest" [2] (since 2003), and the "Los Angeles, Italia - Film, Fashion and Art Festival" (since 2006).
Vicedomini is also the writer and anchorman for various International television shows co-produced by Rai-Radio Televisione Italiana (since 1997) and for Mediaset (since 2014).
He was also behind the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's awarding Hollywood Walk of Fame® stars to the legendary director Bernardo Bertolucci (1998), to the tenor Andrea Bocelli (2010) to the Oscar-winner music composer Ennio Morricone (2016) and to the Oscar-winner director Lina Wertmuller (2019).
Born on February 7, 1962, Vicedomini graduated in Political Sciences at the Naples University (1987). He has been a professional journalist since 1995. During the course of his career he has met and interviewed many of the greatest celebrities of our times, from Kofi Annan to Shimon Peres, from the Dalai Lama to Bill Clinton, from Henry Kissinger to Nelson Mandela.
Following his early publishing and managerial experience working between Italy and the USA (with the W.C.T. organization and the ESPN TV network), in 1996 Vicedomini became correspondent for Rai-Radio Televisione Italiana, at the Mexico '86 FIFA World Cup interviewing the top players for Raiuno TV's prime time Mundialissima Show, hosted by noted Italian journalist Gianni Minà. From 1987 to 1990, he was a consultant to the organizing committee of the FIFA - World Cup Italia '90, working closely with CEO Luca di Montezemolo. Vicedomini was also involved in the international promotion of the Local Organizing Committee (Olympic delegates for Seoul '88). Following this, he was the director of the Rome International Broadcasting Center, the International television village, which is now RAI 's headquarters (Saxa Rubra).
In September of 1990 Vicedomini began working with Raiuno TV, where until 1993 he served as assistant to the channel's general manager Carlo Fuscagni with responsibilities including program and event promotion and managing the network's public relations. In this position, he initiated several innovative promotional initiatives, including the launch of the Oliver Stone film "JFK" involving American President Bill Clinton to pose with a 30-year-old edition of the Italian magazine TV-Radiocorriere showing president John F. Kennedy on the cover, and also for the film "Dances with Wolves" with the involvement of the director Kevin Costner. He also managed the successful European launch of the TV Series "Strauss Dynasty," with an event at the Rome Opera Theatre in the presence of the Italian Head of State and the Mayor of Vienna.
In January '93 Vicedomini returned to journalism with the daily newspaper "Il Mattino" and the weekly magazine "Il Venerdi di Reppublica". He subsequently went to work for the new daily newspaper "L'Informazione" as a special correspondent for International events.
In 1995 he returned to Rai TV where he collaborated on the development of "Format" for Mixer Magazine, directed by Giovanni Minoli. Subsequently Vicedomini was involved in the conception and creation of several showbiz and entertainment TV shows focusing on important International events. The first of these was "On the Road," a weekly primetime production that aired on Raitre on Sunday evenings for 60 episodes, which was followed by the weekly program "Giro Mattina" produced by Rai 3, Raisport and Rai News Tg3.
Vicedomini was then entrusted as the Italian host and executive-producer on of some of the world's most prominent entertainment events: the Tribute Concert to Elvis Presley (Wembley Stadium '96 with Rod Stewart, Steve Winwood, Bon Jovi, Chaka Khan and Seal), the World Music Awards (1996, 1997 and 1998 in Montecarlo, 2000 in Las Vegas, and 2005 at Hollywood's Dolby Theater), the Grammys (1998 in New York, and 2000, 2010 at L.A. Live), the Tribute to Liz Taylor (Hollywood '98 with Michael Jackson, Dennis Hopper, Rod Stewart, Shirley MacLaine and Patty Labelle), the British Music Awards (London 1998 and 2000), the Billboard Music Awards (Las Vegas 2000), and the Music for Monserrat Concert (Royal Albert Hall. London, 1998 honoring Sir George Martin with Sting, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Mark Knopfler and Elton John). Also, the Celine Dion Christmas Concert featuring Andrea Bocelli (1998), and the Christmas Concerts in Vienna with Placido Domingo (1997, 1998), as well as the SAG Awards Show (2000) and the Laureus World Sports Awards (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003). In 1998 he co-produced and hosted, live from Modena, Italy, the preview of ''Luciano Pavarotti and Friends for Liberia'' (the Music Show on Raiuno TV hosted by the legendary tenor with Spike Lee and Stevie Wonder) and also, the Academy show of young San Remo Festival singers (alternating weekly). That same year, Vicedomini became the Paris correspondent for "Look at the FIFA World Cup - Francia '98", a daily TV magazine co-produced by Raiuno and Rai-Sport. From the summer of 2000 to 2002 Vicedomini served as a correspondent for Tg4 News-Mediaset and the Murdoch Group's Stream TV, for which he produced and directed many international television events (the Baftas, the Screen Actors Guild Awards), and also as a correspondent to the Italian sport stadiums.
From September 2002 to 2009 he again collaborated with Rai for the production of numerous programs including "Educational," for Raitre the magazine show "Off Hollywood"; for Raiuno, he was external correspondent for the transmission "La Vita in diretta" of the Grammy Awards® and the Academy Awards® in Los Angeles and of the Cannes Film Festival, special programs at the song festival of San Remo, on the sports special "Laureus World Sport Awards" and on the "World Music Awards" which aired on ABC. He continues to present special reports from the United States on the presidential elections, and Columbus Day and for Rai Sat and Rai International both "Times Square" and "Live from Capri, Hollywood".
In June 2004, on occasion of the European football championships in Portugal, he contributed to the launch of Rai's new digital channel "Rai Azzurri" - directly from the training camp of the Italian national soccer squad. In 2009 he co-produced and hosted for Raidue TV the "Elton John Concert for Peace" live from Naples, Italy on 9/11. As a producer of international events Vicedomini created "The Italian Film Festival" network that many high-profile Italian and global industry players such as AMPAS' past-president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the Emmys past-president Hayma Washington and The Recording Academy's past-president Neil Portnow, as well as prominent humanitarian ambassadors such as Kerry Kennedy, Trudie Styler and Vanessa Redgrave that have helped to build the network's great reputation.
Since 2014 he has co-produced and hosted Canale 5 - Mediaset's "Hit the Road Man" the Italian summer's hottest showbiz's weekly magazine, and for Iris Mediaset the showbiz magazine "Live from... Hollywood (for the Oscars®), along with world class film festivals in Cannes, Venice, Capri and Ischia.
In 2018, Vicedomini was honored with the Italian Government's "Ufficiale al merito della Repubblica Italiana" for his commitment as global promoter of today's best Italian cultural personalities and content.
In 2020, he started a new daily tv show for Rai-Tv "Felicità" which has been on air for four years on a row. While in 2022 he started a new Late Night Show "Paradise" which has been on air on 2023 too (14 episodes set in the Conciliazione Theatre - Vatican City).
He has also worked through the years co-producing many feature films involving many international production companies and artists.
