- If music could go my way, I would say music. But, y'know, movies pay the bills. And I could always play a musician in a movie.
- When I go home, I still have to clean my room, I still have to do the dishes. We have somebody come every now and then to do that stuff, but my mom still makes me clean before she comes.
- "I make a lot of my own clothes. I don't like wearing the same thing everybody else wears".
- I'm not too hard on myself about dieting and exercise. Some stars are a little too bony for me. What happened to the booty?
- [on being an Afro-Latina] Since early, it'd be like, I'm Cuban but [people] didn't get it because I was also brown-skinned, and you usually see a fair-skinned Latino, so it was just like, 'Oh, what are you? Are you black? Are you white?' I didn't feel like I had to make a choice. I am what I am. We're all different, but you have to accept our differences. As far as Afro-Cuban [goes], I'm finding more and more that there's people opening their eyes to seeing that. Latinos come in all colors, all shades. You should see my mom and her brothers and sisters. Same parents, but we just vary in color, shapes and sizes. But we're still Latinos - that doesn't change a damn thing. You can tell it's in the core of our blood.
- I signed to Def Jam and within two months, I heard that Ja Rule was looking for someone to do a song with.
- Love yourself for who you are. You are beautiful inside and out, and nobody can take that away from you.
- My mom was a cheerleader and had me as a teenager. I remember her giving me some pom-poms and teaching me how to do some splits when I was 3 or 4.
- When I meet somebody, I hang out with them, and it's all good, but I don't take it too seriously.
- I enjoy being happy every day, and hopefully you can hear my happiness in my music. Life is beautiful.
- For one year I did go to Performing Arts School, and I had very weird friends.
- I want to be remembered as a happy, humble person, and as someone who motivated others to never give up.
- [on what she looks for in a guy] I like a family guy. He must be fun, must like to go out and has to respect his mom... my family is very important so it should be likewise for him. I also have two dogs, a Chihuahua and a Yorkshire terrier, so if they like him, that's a good sign.
- Even in relationships, I don't get my hopes up or anything, especially not right now because I know I'm young and I've got plenty of time later in the future."
- Never give up. Never stop being creative in finding ways to get exposure. Also, prepared anytime and all the time. You never know who you will run into.
- [on her family being compared to The Kardashians] It's understandable. We are definitely not offended. We like their show and their dynamic -- plus they're very successful. Of course, we are different people with a different upbringing. But like any group of siblings we all have different character traits and our mom is big on 'family first.' We've always been like this, so it's interesting to watch and see that we aren't the only ones who work in a family setting. I guess what makes their show work is that their family is relatable to everyone in some way or another. And I think we are too.
- [on getting her nipple pierced on camera] The camera part there was crazy for me. Otherwise I have been saying for years I wanted to do it. It definitely hurt but I figured if my mom was going to try something she's never done but talked about for years [getting a tattoo], then I should do that same thing.
- [on her family] We face challenges every day both big and small. But regardless we are always ready for any obstacle, and we have each other to stay grounded, grow together and for comfort. Our memories growing up are what built our foundation. I think we are proof to never give up. None of us are perfect, and we're okay with making fun of our flaws.
- [on her reality show's title Christina Milian Turned Up (2015) ] Take everything to the next level and have fun doing it. No limits, no rules!
- [on her daughter Violet] She's my sunshine. She's the reason why I work as hard as I do now. Sometimes I'm extremely busy and we don't have enough time in a day to spend as I wish, but she's understanding that mommy has to make sacrifices in order for her to have a great life. When we are together I make the most of it, and that's what is important -- making our time quality. My nanny, family and friends are also very helpful. But I mentally prepare myself to have as much energy as possible to fulfill everything I need to in a day.
- [on turning down her offer to be on the The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989)] Some people succeeded off of that group and some people didn't, but when they did, they smashed it. Fortunately, I got to be amongst those people later on with *NSYNC and Britney, I toured with them.
- [on experiencing racism in Romania while shooting the film Pulse (2006)] I wouldn't say it was a perk. It was an experience I will have in my mind forever and hopefully I won't get to experience it again. I'm not one that's easily like, "prejudice!" I don't easily point the finger that way, but when it's blatantly in your face, it's just depressing to see that it still goes on. Rick Gonzalez is another actor in the film as well, and he dealt with it too. It took me to another place, I'll tell you, because when I got back home from the movie, I had a huge appreciation for home. But, at the end of the day, it's like how can you blame these people, sometimes? What are you exposed to? You don't know what they're being exposed to.
- [on being dissuaded by her music career not having success, 2008] I bumped into Janet Jackson at a club. We talked for an hour and I was telling her I don't know if I'm gonna do this, and she was like, "Girl, do not let them stop you. I'm a fan and you make good music." She's a person I actually looked up to growing up, so her telling me that really was the day I was like, "I'm not gonna let these people hold me down. It's time."
- [on her acting and music career, 2006] I'm at a point right now where I wanna dominate one thing more than the other. I would love to dominate my acting career a lot more than my music because I think it's a good firm base for me. I think there's longevity in my film career for me, and I think it's a challenge and I enjoy it. I know what's to come tomorrow a little bit more with film. Compared to music, it's such a challenge, you just never know. You spend a lot of time in your heart and soul, you spend time sweating in the studio making music, rehearsing, doing this, doing that, you put out the music and you just never know what's gonna happen. Are the fans gonna love it? How much money gets spent? It's incredible, the music industry, what goes behind it. To me, I love them both and they're equally my passion, and there are other things for me I can do in music, as far as songwriting and stuff, and I'll continue to do music.
- [on being dropped by her record label, Def Jam, in 2006] It was a budget cut, I believe. Def Jam probably got rid of projects like mine to spend the money on Rihanna. It was embarrassing. It was a week after my album got put out. I would be in my room a lot of the time crying by myself.
