My Honor Was Loyalty (2016)
Good Movie, Good Message - Troublesome Edit
While it wasn't as seamless a movie as I'd normally like. It was a good portrayal. There were a few language issues and this movie would have been excellent in true languages, fluent German is what I kept wanting to hear and it's honestly the only reason it took me 3 days to watch. The film itself was in high quality and pleasing to look at. Not to mention the message was important. You who judge against these men are the trash, not them. The sacrifice made by the German soldiers to defend their homes and their homeland, not to mention, arguably rid the world of an even worse regime in Russia - while we the US called Russia (40 million killed in genocide, much more than Germany) - our Ally is completely stupid. This movie reminds us that we are looking at this all wrong. Stop looking at the political case and start looking at the human one. Deep and powerful. Highly recommend. once they put the true languages in. LOL It'll be on my shelf.
Gifted (2017)
A Fathers Must See!
As a parent you'll find it hard to look at your child without admiring that silly behavior or constant charm. Our children are - after all - a driving purpose & Marc Webbs "Gifted" has no limit to those little reminders of why. Starring Christopher Evans as "Frank Adler", this family oriented drama will have you smiling for hours at the wacky comments and sheer intellect "Mary Adler" (McKenna Grace) portrays in her character is a child prodigy - something I'm sure we all see in our sons & daughters, regardless of where they stand. The plot-line here was surprisingly soft and presented host of lessons that highlighted the importance of a trusting relationship with your child; not to mention dealing with those who might try and stand between it. It's a title every father must see and every mother should feel encouraged by. Where there's love, there's life!
The Matrix (1999)
One for the Books...
This action packed thriller takes a step above most when it offers a unique perception on the meaning of life. Portraying the most fundamental questions of our reality in a way that is, shall we say, augmented. The chosen one here being you, the limitations in life your own. It highlights that disconnection we have between what we're taught and what it is we experience. Though I'm not one for the overly unrealistic choreographed fight scenes, any action lover is sure to enjoy them, and what of it; when the plot is so deepened through this subliminal context. So is there more to life than what we see? the powers that be? our own intuition or the life we lead? Maybe its time to find out...
