This right here, is my first review. After watching the movie, I couldn't help make an account rate it and leave a review. I dont wanna tell much, If you are a Nepali and Love movies, It cannot get better. A must watch. I am so glad I watched the movie before it was too late. And finally, to all the crew members and actotrs invovled, Huge congratulations and repest for the movie. Especially that little brother who literally stole the show and the hearts I am sure of thousands who watched. This movie has replicated our typical society, its happiness, sorrow, complusions of those who live in those parts of the country and eternal.

Masterclass in Filmmaking

Speechless. This movie should get way more showtime than the other foreign movie.

A story about a family that anyone can relate, made with simplicity and honesty.

Do book your tickets while you still have the chance to get the ticket.

You owe it to your and your family to treat yourself with this film and we owe it to the filmmakers and the artist involved to give them a chance to succeed at the box office.

This is a labour of love. Completely worth it and leaves you speechless.

masterpiece

Amazing story, great acting and such a beautiful soundtrack. Everything is perfect. How can a movie be this beautiful! I became a fan of that little boy. Such a cute boy with genuine acting skills. He totally stole my heart. All other actors are a perfect cast for this movie. The story telling, the originality, the countryside visual, the emotional soundtrack god I was crying like a baby in theatre. I just couldn't hold my tears especially on the last scene. If you haven't watched this movie yet you're missing on a lot my friend. Do yourself a favour and just watch. I bet you'll come crying out of theatre. This is by far the best Nepali movie I've ever seen. God I loved it so much. Totally worth it. Very emotional, very original, a literal masterpiece. Hats off to the director man. Amazing work 👏

A must watch - Do go with your sister.
abhisekhkhatiwada5 September 2022
Director Bidari has done an amazing job in conveying the story of two siblings who, although fight with each other, love each other unconditionally, and their mother, who is working hard to send her daughter for further education to a better place.

The story revolves around Bidhya and her younger brother Basanta. Basanta's character is fun and will take back to your childhood. His antics will make you laugh hard, while some moments make you adore him. Bidhya is a excellent student and an aspiring poet, who dreams to pursue further education and later publish her poems in monthly children's magazine (Muna - Very popular child magazine in Nepal before the Internet burst, I'm sure will make you nostalgic). Bidhya's mother fully supports this dream of hers.

The movie also portrays the society of a remote village decades ago. Friendships, picnics, fights, rituals, faces, characters, local movie theater, school, culture, practices, news, music, songs and what not!

This movie has many elements of nostalgia; the one that especially got me nostalgic was the Sankha Dhun of Radio Nepal (it literally used to be our alarm back in those days - every household with a radio used to start their day with this music).

The visual is too good! Most of the shots are amazing. The casting is amazing too (I got to know that most of the cast members were fresh, and some had never even been to a theater!). The child artists are too good and are an absolute delight.

There are many other things that I'd rather you find out on your own! I had fun, although there were some really emotional scenes too. The only problem in this movie is that it ends too fast and leaves us wanting for more.

Aina jhyal ko Putali is a must watch movie. Do go with your sister.

Nostalgia and Relevancy at its peak!
asoqpathak-729476 September 2022
Amazing experience to be on the Grand Premiere of one of the most awaited cinema of recent times, 'Aina Jhyal ko Putali'. A great work by Sujit Bidari sir and the team.

All I did while watching was seeing myself on the projection throughout the cinema. A true reflection of 'my' story, 'our' story. No doubt that the makers have set an example of masterpiece with a simple and modest plotline.

From the character building to progression of setup, confrontation and resolution of each and every scenes is really impeccable. Admirable elements on emotion portrayal through visual storytelling.

Please do watch this beautiful piece of art at theatres to relive your childhood memories. Releasing on 24th Bhadra!

So beautiful and realistic
prajwalchapagain-9826217 September 2022
A film about the bond between a sister and a brother. Because the director is building a world that is extremely close to us, it is a delightful feast for the eyes. The viewers bond quickly. Especially among those between 30 and 40. Since that is the setting for the story. The set pieces are exquisite. Pay close attention to the radio in the background. The intricate and carefully carved details are amazing. Simply watch how the magazine "muna" is used to advance the plot, the conversation between the mother and her daughter, and her worry that her daughter is gradually changing into someone like her. Awesome.

Reality based movie. I couldn't imagine this movie would be so much beautiful....
dahalbibek14 September 2022
Wow this is my first Nepali movie in theatre and honestly this is by far the best movie Ive ever watched that depicts realism. To be honest this movie depicts the reality of Nepali culture Chaupadi and how a poor family struggle to survive in rular village, the dream of young daughter and her responsibility and her culture is expressed beautifully. Hats off to funny young actor too. You should be quite familiar about Nepali norms on how they treat a daughter while she is in period. Excellent movie 🍿. Bit a humorous. Young boy actor acted beautifully.

I used to have a typical assumption that Nepali movie is not worthy but this movie broke my stereotype. No more unwanted and faltu dramas, no more faltu tension. This is authentic movie. You don't get bored while watching. Must watch movie......family and reality based movie beautiful acting, beautiful directing, wow such a beautiful composition script writing and storyline. You must watch this beautiful movie. While I was in theatre all the audience at the end clapped at once, There was beautiful response from other audience too,

The easiest 10 i've given to a Nepali Film.

To me, this felt like a gift from the director Sujit Bidari. A gift wrapped with the fragrance of nostalgia. As someone who spent a big part of his childhood reading Muna, and wanted his writing to be published in it but failed, i could totally understand how Bidhya felt. A stack of Muna magazine on my bookshelf know how much they've catered to my fondness for writing poems & stories today. This aspect of film made me deeply connect with it, like it was a life i was part of, a life i'll always cherish. The more i think about the film, the more it gets better. Everything about it.

It has a lot to offer, and it never forces any of those things, which was simply enough to portray the rawness it intended. A beautifully written & directed masterpiece where Sujit Bidari brings out the best in his actors, especially the child actors, allowing them to flourish the innocence they beared. From our leading protagonists to the characters who make minute presence on screen, everyone of them played their part so elegantly. I'm super happy that it stood up to the level i anticipated when i first watched it's trailer in awe.

Bond between brother and sister

Realistic representation of Nepalese society. Real struggle to fulfill life basic need i.e right to education in rural Nepal, child marriage, struggle of girl child & women over patriarchal society.

Strongly recommended Cherish the innocence of this movie & how beautifully presented in form of art.🙏

The butterfly Which couldn't escape the patriarchal prison
Rajit_thebingewatcher17 September 2022
A movie about a relationship between a brother and a sister. It's a lovely treat to the eyes because the director is creating the world very near to us. The viewers easily get connected . Specially the age 30-40. Because the story is set in that premise. The props used are so beautiful. Keep a special focus to the radio background. The detailings are so meticulous and so beautifully crafted. Just see the use of "muna" to move the story forward. If you notice the conversation between the mom and her daughter minutely shows her fear that her daughter's fate is slowly changing like her and then focus on the climax where the camera focuses her earrings. This is a lovely approach where viewers are questioned , they need to understand the symbolism of smallest details that director wants us to notice. It's worth watching more than one time because everytime you ll find something new.

Being a story writer I loved the minimalistic approach of dialogue writing where the viewers need to understand the characters expression to understand what's going on. After a long time fully satisfied with the movie and it's theme.

Do watch highly recommended.

While watching this; Even TEARS became cheap.

I assume - No human being in the Earth will dislike this film. The fantastic display of acting by Bidya, Basanta and Bange is proof that talent of natural acting has no age limit. Film is at the maximum height of creativity and salute to the director who excelled in writing and directing it.

Watching this film is like -listening to Osho's discourse, -or time traveling to see your own childhood, -or playing a movie yourself by stepping inside the screen.

It has the ability to change mood, add warmth to our mind and body, and take us back to memories of a time that were often idealized with excitement and longing.

In brief, its nostalgic.

This film is excellent in all aspects such as the technical aspect, the presentation aspect of the story, the emotional aspect of the characters and the artistic quality of the presentation.

This film not only tells the story of Nepali women but of women of entire Asia continent because I've heard that, after watching this film at the Busan Film Festival, a female audience came to the organizers with tears in her eyes and said, "This is my story. How did my story become a film? Thank you for showing such a great film!"

Pure art
dhirazdhungel22 September 2022
Its story structure is very simple. In fact movie is so simple. But every act presented is thoughtful. From sound track to videotrack everything is made very carefully. The set of movie is perfect. Language ascent, character behaviour everything is done great. There are some moments I find really hard to hold tears and some part giving nostalgic vibe of 90's life of Nepal. That kid's performance was dammn too good. He just take this movie to another level. From goosebumps to tears, tears to laugh, laugh to nostalgia. Kudos to the team. They had really worked hard. Best of luck for Oscar. Well, I feel like it'll really get good response even outside of Nepal.
