Brian Tee left Chicago Med after eight seasons but hasn’t completely gone away as the actor has returned to direct episodes of the NBC medical drama.
With Tee’s close relationship with the Dick Wolf production, many have asked if he would ever reprise his role of Dr. Choi.
“There’s always conversation [about] returning on screen,” Tee told our sister site, TV Line, in an interview during the Gotham TV Awards. “It’s interesting. I think, every season, Chicago Med goes through a bit of a flux but I get to come back, and I play with all the cast and the crew on the director side of things. So we’ll always start that conversation, and if the right time or the right storyline comes along, maybe it might happen. So it’s kind of one of those things that you never say goodbye to.”

Brian Tee hasn’t entirely stayed away from the Windy City since he left Chicago Med in 2022. Following his departure from the NBC drama, where he played Dr. Ethan Choi for seven-and-a-half seasons, the actor has returned to Med twice to direct episodes. But what about reprising his role for a guest spot?
“There’s always conversation [about] returning on screen,” Tee told TVLine at the inaugural Gotham TV Awards on June 4. The actor was in attendance to help present the Spotlight Tribute to Lulu Wang, creator of Prime Video’s Expats, on which Tee starred opposite Nicole Kidman.

The One Chicago shows may be on summer hiatus, but the social media teams are still in action.
A new video called One Chicago Set Tours: Hiatus Edition was shared online.
In the video, fans can experience quick tours of each set.
This is a nice treat for fans who may have difficulties waiting for new episodes to roll out.
Since the shows also had shortened seasons due to the Hollywood strikes, it felt like everything ended abruptly this past spring.
But while we wait for the Fall 2024 schedule to begin at NBC, it’s nice to get a small look behind the curtain.
Set tours shared for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D.
“Missing our favorite places this One Chicago Wednesday,” reads the quick caption to a new Instagram post.
Soothing music plays in the background as cameras present a look behind the scenes.

As a small-screen veteran, Zachary Quinto is no stranger to building a television persona, much like the role in Heroes that made him a household name.
The actor then went on to be a veteran of the hit horror show American Horror Story, appearing in multiple seasons starting as early as 2022, during the show's eleventh season.
Now, the TV titan is trying his hand at a medical drama, which has become its own creature in the television industry.
But if there's one thing the actor is good at, it's coming across as calm and collected, much like his character Spock from the Star Trek films.
Brilliant Minds is on NBC's fall line-up, and here is everything we know about the show so far!
What Is Brilliant Minds about?

Law & Order: Organized Crime follows complex mysteries involving mob bosses, gang leaders, and other violent criminals who are good at covering their tracks.
It's not the kind of show you can put on in the background while you do something else because you'll miss too much.
The characters can be complicated to follow, making it more challenging to enjoy this show and its intricate stories.
That's why we've put together this Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 cast and character guide to help you out before the new season begins.
Unlike the rest of the Law & Order franchise, Organized Crime doesn't often delve into the courtroom side of things.
Instead, the main characters you need to keep track of are:
The cops who dedicate their lives to untangling complicated knots to get to the truth The current targets of investigations Stabler's family members

Amazon MGM Studios is doubling down on its working relationship with Jensen Ackles after bringing the Supernatural alum aboard the hit television series The Boys for a new episodic drama, Countdown. The project hails from Chicago’s own Derek Haas, the writer and producer of shows like Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and more. Haas inked an exclusive deal with Prime Video after exiting Wolf Entertainment. Countdown is the first project to come from the pact.
Haas designed Countdown for Jensen Ackles after the Batman voice actor entered a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios for his production company Chaos Machine Productions. Ackles established the banner with his wife, Danneel Ackles, after his show-stopping role as Soldier Boy on The Boys.

Jensen Ackles is set to lead a new action-thriller series at Amazon Prime Video from “One Chicago” alum Derek Haas, Variety has learned.
Titled “Countdown,” the official logline states the show begins “following a suspicious murder in broad daylight, which leads to LAPD officer Mark Meachum (Ackles) being recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to investigate. But as the truth of a more sinister plot comes into focus, the team must overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions.”
Amazon has given the show a 13-episode order. Haas created the series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Ackles and his wife Daneel’s production company, Chaos Machine, is currently under a first-look deal at Amazon MGM studios, while Haas is now under an overall deal at the studio.

Whoa! Chicago Med is about to enter its tenth season.
Chicago Med Season 9 ended with several cliffhangers that left viewers wondering whether one character was coming back.
This proved that there's plenty of life in the series a year after Nick Gehlfuss's (Will Halstead) exit.
Most of the cast is returning, so let's look at who's who ahead of Season 10.
Over Ten Years, How Much Has The Cast Changed?
Chicago Med's cast is remarkably stable, so once you learn who the characters are, you should be able to follow not only the new season, but many of the previous seasons.
A few characters have left over the years, but there is always a core of five or six characters you can count on to carry the show, and Season 10 won't be much different in that regard.

Not much is publicly known about Robert Shinn, the elusive and mysterious founder of 7M Films and the pastor of Shekinah Church – as seen in Netflix docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult. Indeed, Shinn seems to prefer to stick to the background and let the talent assembled by his agency get all of the attention.
Founded by Shinn and son Isaiah Shinn, 7M Films is not the biggest talent agency in the world, or the most successful, but it might be one of the most viral. 7M traditionally has not been looking to boost working actors to new heights, but to tap into a talented community of self-motivated dancers, singers, musicians, and performers who have the skills necessary to go viral on TikTok with a little help from 7M. However, viral videos and brand partnerships aren’t Robert Shinn’s first attempt at getting a taste of Hollywood glory.

We'll have to wait all summer to find out what happens next on Chicago Med, but at least it won't be as long as the last hiatus.
Chicago Med Season 9 ended with some cliffhangers that made our jaws drop, including a question about whether one character will be coming back.
We don't know much about what Season 10 will bring, but one thing's for sure: it'll involve a double helping of drama.
Chicago Med focuses on an ensemble of doctors, but each has a particular role. When Will Halstead was the lead doctor, he was a rebel with a cause, constantly breaking the rules for the right reason.
Now that Halstead is gone, the focus shifted during Season 9 to a few new characters.
Ripley was a new doctor with a traumatic past, and for a while, Marcel had to deal with Zola, a Halstead-like resident who was constantly doing whatever she felt was right,...

A big change has been announced at Chicago Med ahead of Season 10.
Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider have departed as showrunners, leaving an opening for the hit NBC drama.
The showrunner helps steer storylines, devise plots and characters, and is a major contributor to a show’s success.
The showrunner has the primary creative control and the creative authority to try new things. And changing showrunners can be risky.
Allen MacDonald will now serve as executive producer and showrunner.
This news opens the door for new and exciting content in the fall of 2024.
Announcement of the new Chicago Med showrunner
Fresh off Chicago Med being a top 10 broadcast series in Live+7 Nielsen viewership, the show has a new man running things.
In the exclusive Deadline report, the site stated that Allen MacDonald was also a writer-producer on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, ABC’s Forever and Body of Proof, and CBS’ CSI.

In more recent times, the first medical drama that seems to come to everybody’s mind is Grey’s Anatomy. It is now airing its 20th season, and, although not many people consider it to be as good as it was in the 2000s, there are still enough viewers to keep the show going and renewed for more years.
There are also such series as Chicago Med, or The Good Doctor, which nears its ending after becoming an internet phenomenon. However, none of them are coming close to the greatness of a scandal that prompted ABC to get rid of its 2000 medical show Wonderland.
Why Was the TV Show Wonderland Canceled?
Like almost every other TV show that isn't renewed on the network, Wonderland was officially canceled due to low ratings. What's so peculiar about this show, however, is that it wasn't canceled after just one unsuccessful season, as is often the case.

We finally got the excitement we've been waiting for all season!
After twelve episodes in which nothing terribly jaw-dropping happened but several big questions formed for viewers, Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 13 delivered a season finale that delivered all the heat we've been missing.
This was the perfect way to cap off the season, and I'm satisfied with how the episode concluded.
This is the first time all season that I can remember feeling on the edge of my seat.
As always, a lot was going on throughout the hour, but it felt cohesive and organized.
There was some suspense, but so many of the questions we've been asking for months have been answered, and I feel so relieved.

Nobody told me this was going to be a tissue-box night.

Between tearjerkers, it managed to set up some cliffhangers for season 10 that'll keep viewers talking all summer. Well done!

Crockett Marcel has been headed for a fall recently.
He's been a little lost since the Or 2.0 debacle on Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 22, and one patient after another left the hospital under tragic circumstances.
Even before Colin and his father died, Colin's case was too much. It's still unclear why Marcel suddenly decided not to give Colin the liver, but the payoff in this heartbreaking story was worth it.

Exclusive: Death and Other Details co-creator/executive producer Mike Weiss has joined CBS’ drama series FBI as executive producer and showrunner. Meanwhile, Allen MacDonald has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner of NBC’s Chicago Med. Both Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television dramas are Top 10 broadcast series in Live+7 Nielsen viewership.
Weiss and MacDonald fill the showrunner vacancies left by the departures of veterans Rick Eid (FBI) and Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider (Chicago Med) who had been at the helm of the two series from the start. (Eid continues as showrunner of Wolf’s Law & Order.) The showrunners of the remaining FBI, Chicago and Law & Order series are staying put.
FBI, which recently scored a three-year renewal from CBS, is headed to its seventh season; Chicago Med is going into its 10th season.

Many Chicago P.D. fans loved watching Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead on the program.
The two detectives helped lead the Intelligence unit, all while working hard for Hank Voight.
The duo began dating and eventually got married, with fans giving them the relationship name Upstead during that run.
Early in Season 10, actor Jesse Lee Soffer appeared in his final episode. It meant the writers had to write out Halstead.
It was a difficult moment for Upstead fans, who pushed the hashtag UpsteadForever to draw continued interest to the characters.
As the final episode for Upton approaches, Chicago P.D. fans have the hashtag trending again on social media.

The last Chicago P.D. episode for Tracy Spiridakos arrives on Wednesday, May 22. NBC released early images from that episode.
It could be an intense night, and some Chicago P.D. fans fear Hank Voight will be killed.

Hank Voight is in harm’s way during the Chicago P.D. season finale.
During the penultimate episode of Season 11, Voight was taken from his home after being seemingly drugged.
It appeared that Voight had been drugged, leading to hallucinations and immobilizing the Intelligence leader.
As Intelligence began zeroing in on a lead suspect in the serial killer case, his team had no idea that Voight had been taken.
When Detective Hailey Upton went by his house, she became suspicious that his car was there, his backdoor was unlocked, and Voight was missing.
Was Voight about to become the latest victim of a serial killer that had plagued Intelligence for most of the season?

Chicago Fire is about to close its doors on Season 12.
The season has been a bit disjointed due to having fewer episodes. Losing cast members didn’t help.
Kara Killmer ended her run as Paramedic Sylvie Brett, and Alberto Rosende finished his time as Firefighter Blake Gallo.
Gallo’s replacement also left. That role was Firefighter Jake Gibson, played by Rome Flynn for a few episodes.
Jack Damon (Michael Bradway) has replaced Gibson, while Lizzy Novak (Joselyn Hudon) has replaced Brett. Will they last? Stay tuned!
Unfortunately, another series regular ends their run on the season finale.

The worst part of being an Ed doctor is giving bad news that amounts to a death sentence.
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 12 had Marcel struggling to get the transplant board to allow him to hold onto a liver while a young patient recovered from an infection, only for him to change his mind at the last second.
His sudden change of heart didn't make sense, especially considering how arrogant and insensitive Dr. Morris was about the procedure throughout the story.
Why Did Marcel Change His Mind?
Dr. Marcel butted heads with Dr. Morris throughout the hour.
Morris was skeptical of whether Marcel could successfully do this procedure, demanded repeatedly that someone else be given the liver, and complained that the transplant committee meeting was a waste of time when he didn't get his way.
The climactic scene involved Sharon saying Marcel made the decision and Morris whining about it. Then,...

NBC has unveiled its 2024 fall schedule, which highlights franchise dramas, two nights of laughs, unscripted hits, live specials, and holiday programming. All new series will stream the next day on Peacock along with the rest of NBC’s entertainment lineup.
Three new series are set to premiere in the fall, including the drama Brilliant Minds, starring Zachary Quinto and inspired by the true story of a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, Oliver Wolf, and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier — the human mind — while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
Also coming is St. Denis Medical, which stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Allison Tolman, and David Alan Grier and is from co-creators Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin. It brings the laughs with a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.

Copying someone's success story can be tricky: yes, you seem to be following the same rules and doing the same things. So you would think that the results would be the same as those of the people you are inspired by. But the thing is, life is so unpredictable that what worked for one person will never work for another.
And, of course, both of these methods are used in business. For example, there's a way to take several highly-rated shows in a universe and spin them together to create a whole new huge universe that spans multiple stories. The perfect example is NBC's One Chicago franchise,...
