- TriviaSheldon's fear of birds has long been established since The Friendship Algorithm (2009). His fear of nets is a new one, possibly caused by him being caught under an electrified net in The Bozeman Reaction (2010).
- GoofsSheldon refers to the bird as a blue jay, however, it is a black-throated magpie-jay.
- Quotes
Raj Koothrappali: C'mon Sheldon, Star Wars.
Howard Wolowitz: I'm pushing play. I mean it. If we don't start soon, George Lucas is going to change it again.
- Crazy creditsCHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #366 [Image of a cluttered desk containing a Mac SE, a glass of bourbon, dirty ashtrays, pencils, erasers, etc.] This photograph was my vanity card when I was working on Grace Under Fire and Cybill. I remember deciding on its composition by asking myself what were some of my favorite things. The answer, as you can see in the picture, was tobacco, bourbon and an old Mac computer. Eighteen years later, I still love my Mac. The other two items, despite my eternal affection, have been replaced with a bronchial inhaler and a metal folding chair in a church basement.

very clever, good episode
This is one of their better episodes. Besides being funny very often and showcasing Parson's (Sheldon) great acting abilities, I found the episode to be be very CLEVER about the tired old topic of nerdy, low self-esteem Leonard groveling for sex from pretty powerful Penny, but NO! Usually you NOT ONLY SEE this (Leonard's groveling), but you have to HEAR them all discussing all aspects of coitus -- wanting it, pursuing it, getting over it, etc, etc. Here, though, it was very cleverly well done. Since former lovers Leonard and Penny said they were on a friendship date, not the usual sex-romantic date, Leonard (and then Penny too) changed the usual routine and conversation -- like speaking his own mind, demanding his own choice of movie, hooking up with another girl while on the date. So, to repeat, I usually wince when I see Leonard and Penny speak openly and cloyingly about their love life, here it was rather fresh, different. Good job.
The second half of the episode was also nicely done -- about Sheldon trying to shoo a bluebird away from his apartment. The Leonard-Penny half was mostly clever with some comedy thrown in. The Sheldon-blue bird half was mostly Sheldon outraged at this comedy best.
