Netflix has renewed its witness relocation series Lilyhammer for a third season, the company announced today. While the show is nowhere near as good as House of Cards or Orange Is the New Black, it is technically part of the Netflix family of original programming, along with Hemlock Grove, Arrested Development, and the never-mentioned Vin Diesel–produced The Ropes. (It's a show about bouncers. It wasn't made for Netflix, but Netflix has been its only home.) No word yet on when exactly Steve Van Zandt, et al., will return, but it'll be sometime this year.

Zoe joined Olivia Wilde and Eva Longoria, also be making their directorial debuts, working with established industry actors. You know that Vin Diesel web series at least one online video journalist was excited about because if the XXX star was able to successfully leverage even just 5% of his now 30+ million(!) Vin Diesel Facebook fans into Vin Diesel online video viewers, it would make for a wildly successful new media program and a model other Hollywood celebrities with similar fan bases would quickly emulate? It’s that dramatic web series produced by Diesel’s One Race Films and Fox Digital Entertainment that’s loosely based on Diesel’s previous life as a bouncer and centers around the subculture of musclemen who man the lines at New York City’s hottest hotspots. It’s that web series called The Ropes and it premiered today, but not exactly online. All six, 22-minute episodes of The Ropes debuted on Netflix and Crackle’s Xbox Live app, while the series is set to...

Universal Pictures, One Race Films and Radar Pictures announced today that principal photography has begun on the action-driven, sci-fi thriller Riddick. The shoot will take place in Montreal.
The latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000′s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004′s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

Vin Diesel currently has 28.2 million Facebook fans, which makes him one of the most liked entities on Facebook that isn’t a social network, video sharing site, international pop star, or Megan Fox. He posted the angelic picture you see to your left last Friday. In the last three days it’s accumulated over 85,000 likes, 7,500 comments, and 5,000 shares. How Diesel became this popular isn’t the point of this article. (Read: I have no how Diesel became this popular.) But what is the point of this article is how Diesel may or may not leverage that massive popularity into view counts for his upcoming web series. Diesel, his One Race Films, and Fox Digital Entertainment announced in February they would collaborate on The Ropes, a Vin Diesel-produced and Vin Diesel-guest-starring original web series based on Diesel’s experience as a muscley bouncer with an ear piece on the...
