True Brit Entertainment has acquired U.K. rights to “The Death of Robin Hood,” one of the hot market packages at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where A24 picked up the project up for the U.S.
Set in Sherwood Forest and starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, the film is being directed by Michael Sarnoski, behind the critically acclaimed “Pig” and upcoming “A Quiet Place: Day One.”
As per the logline, “The Death of Robin Hood” sees the Prince of Thieves having banished the jolly green tights of previous incarnations, becoming instead “a battle-worn loner” who finds himself “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder and in the hands of a mysterious woman.”
Lyrical Media is fully financing “The Death of Robin Hood.” Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett will produce under their Ryder Picture Company banner alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media. Lyrical’s...
