Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThe Tanner girls' impromptu trip to New Zealand is inspired by actual events. In 1985, California native Michael Lewis, coming home from vacation in West Germany, reached Los Angeles International Airport. He intended to take a connecting flight to his home in Oakland, but accidentally followed a crowd of passengers to the Air New Zealand terminal (there, he told employees his destination, but he was misheard as saying "Auckland" and was given a boarding pass). Upon reaching the city, Air New Zealand officials promptly gave Lewis a return ticket to Los Angeles.
- GoofsEven before 9/11, nobody has ever been allowed through a door marked "Authorized Personnel Only" and on board an airliner without a valid document of authorization, such as a passenger boarding pass or employee identification card.
- Quotes
Danny Tanner: [after Stephanie and Michelle come back from New Zealand] Do you two have any idea how worried we were?
Joey Gladstone: Why in the world would you get on that plane, in the first place?
Stephanie Tanner: We're really sorry. It was an accident.
Jesse Katsopolis: An accident? You accidentally walked on the plane, accidentally sit down and accidentally flew to New Zealand?
Stephanie Tanner: Okay. It was a freak accident.

Not Bad.
Only after analyzing this episode does it turn out to be bad. When not analyzing, it is decent. I like it whenever I see it.
I wanted the previous two episodes to be only about Jesse making it big. A subplot involved DJ wanting to go to Barcelona for a summer school trip. Here, 8 weeks later, she returns. When all she seems more interested in her new boyfriend Steve, the Tanners are bummed, and Stephanie and Michelle (whose lisp is gone) see off a group of travelling children musicians. They accidentally board their plane to New Zealand. Uh-oh! (But this was before 9/11)
DJ wanting to spend more time with Steve than her own family is believable, but not nice to see. If it were me getting off a plane (especially after a severely long flight like Europe), I would be wanting to get home ASAP. But the majority of time, this episode takes place inside the terminal with DJ only talking to Danny. Luckily, there is enough comedy in here to like.
