At 35, Glen Powell has quickly risen to fame as one of Hollywood’s currently most desired faces. The acclaimed actor, with his acting prowess and stunning physique, quickly gained prominence following his breakout role in the comedy-horror Scream Queens and arguably one of his most passionate projects yet alongside Tom Cruise in 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick.
However, he already had one of his foot into the showbiz territory as far back as when he was 13 with a role in a now cult-classic franchise.

CBS canceled a lot of popular shows this season. They canceled Blue Bloods, NCIS: Hawai’i, and CSI: Vegas. They also announced they will bring back S.W.A.T., but only for one more season. The reason the network execs gave was that they wanted to “freshen” things up and hope viewers would like the new shows replacing the beloved canceled series.
One way to do that is by adding in another franchise show, but this one will be very different from everything that came before. CSI: Miami is coming back in a new format.
CBS Bringing Back CSI: Miami As A Different Show
CBS has offered up some replacements for the departing shows, but it remains to be seen if fans care enough to buy into the new ones. For example, NCIS: Hawai’i is going away, but a show called NCIS: Origins is replacing it. For Blue Bloods, CBS is bringing in...

Max is in danger, and Chris is unconscious.
For a series on its last episode after a recent cancellation order, CSI: Vegas threw viewers straight into the action from the opening scene.
As fans say goodbye to the CSI team we've grown fond of for the last three years, CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 10 gave fans a conflicting farewell.
The revolving theme for this season has been the AI robots. Max still has Ocho in her lab from CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 5, "It Was Automation."
So, naturally, everyone believed the bad guy they were after was the company's founder, Truman Thomas.
But on the last episode of the series, fans got the best misdirect we've seen in a while.
'Cause the bad guy was dead and, in fact, innocent all along. He was just a pawn in the wheel of a bigger plan.

When CBS announced it was canceling CSI: Vegas, it didn’t warn the showrunners. This means that fans won’t be happy when watching the season finale, knowing the show is ending. One of the show’s stars said “major cliffhangers” are in the finale that will never be resolved.
Here is what fans can expect from the CSI: Vegas finale.
CSI: Vegas To End With Unanswered Questions
When CSI: Vegas returned to TV, three of the show’s original stars returned. William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) returned to CSI as did former police detective Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle). However, they left after one season and the hope was that fans would latch onto the new cast. The series brought back Marg Helgenberger to reprise her role as Catherin Willows in the second and third seasons to fill the gap.

A General Hospital star is rumored to be the latest cast member to be joining Rhobh. Season 14 is underway but the full cast list is still up in the air. So, who from the soap world is expected to be added to the roster? Keep reading for more details.
General Hospital Star Rumored To Be Joining Rhobh
Soap stars seem to gravitate to the world of Bravo, especially Rhobh. So far Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson left their mark on the show with Rinna lasting the longest. She became a fan favorite in her own right for telling it like it was and never holding back. Eventually, she left after Season 12 due to an incident with Kathy Hilton and losing her mother, Lois. As for Eileen, she was there for three seasons and was able to hold her own, even making guest appearances after her time was done. Viewers would...

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills seems to like casting soap opera ladies.
Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson fit right in when they joined the series in Season 5.
As we jump into Season 14 of Rhobh, the casting team may have snapped another famous soap opera star.
Eva Larue is rumored to join the cast this season, as Crystal Kung Minkoff and Annemarie Wiley were fired following a lackluster Season 13.
Viewers will likely remember Eva from her role on All My Children as Dr. Maria Santos Grey. However, she is currently airing on ABC’s General Hospital as Natalia.
With Season 14 filming already underway, it will be interesting to see where Eva fits in and where she will align herself.

No man is an island. As much as we hate to admit it, sometimes, no one gets anywhere in life without someone believing in them. The same is true for Hollywood. It takes the stars aligning (pun intended) for any success story for anyone to really make it, and especially to escape the shadow of how they may be initially perceived.
There may be no better example of that than Mr. Channing Tatum. He told GQ in 2009, “I got crazy lucky. Like, sometimes I think I won the lottery or something. I don’t really know how I got here. But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better.” Had the stars aligned differently, he could have been just an exotic dancer and never entered the public consciousness. Or just a model. Or just played a jock. Or just played generic romantic leads. Or just played generic action roles.

CBS has been “freshening” up its lineup by canceling some fan-favorite shows and replacing them with new versions, hoping fans will happily switch to the new shows. CBS canceled Blue Bloods to add more to the Fire Country franchise. It is also canceling NCIS: Hawai’i and replacing it with NCIS: Origins. Now, they are replacing CSI: Vegas as well.
Here is a look at what is coming next for the CSI franchise.
CBS Bringing New CSI Series To Summer Season
CBS announced several shows that they canceled and some were not only fan favorites but were also successful in the ratings. Things started out exciting when CBS brought back CSI: Vegas because it saw Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) return. However, they only lasted one season and the new cast had to carry the series.
After three seasons and 39 episodes, the ratings continued to be strong.

“CSI: Vegas” may be canceled, but CBS isn’t giving up on the franchise. The Eye network announced Tuesday a new edition in the “CSI” universe — but this time in the unscripted space.
CBS has ordered the unscripted, true-crime docuseries “The Real CSI: Miami” based on the drama “CSI: Miami,” which aired from 2002 to 2012 (for 10 seasons and 232 episodes). The new series is set to release on CBS on June 26 at 10 p.m. Et. The news came as CBS announced its summer lineup.
The logline for “The Real CSI: Miami” reads, “Each episode features gripping real-life crime cases and the cutting-edge forensic science used to solve them. ‘The Real CSI: Miami’ highlights that at the heart of every story is a victim and a family seeking justice.”
The news of another “CSI” show being ordered comes after the last show in the franchise “CSI: Vegas” announced its cancellation in April after three seasons.

A certain actor has been taking over Hollywood as of late, and his name is Glen Powell.
The actor, hailing from Austin, Texas, has a long list of credits to his name, with various appearances on television series over the years. But, he reached movie star status after starring in two of the biggest films of the last two years.
Both Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but You were bonafide commercial hits, but they are far from the only series and movies of Mr. Powell's you'll want to add to your must-watch list.
Powell's acting career started with a small role in Spy Kids 3-D Game, and a few years later, he went on to star in The Great Debaters alongside Hollywood heavy hitters Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington, who also directed it.
More roles would follow that, including guest stints on CSI: Miami, Rizzoli & Isles, and NCIS.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is being described as both a genre picture and a period piece that Coogler will be directing and Jordan is attached to star in. The project is set up at Warner Bros., is expected to have a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025. Coogler has been assembling Jordan’s supporting cast over the last couple of months, and Deadline reports that the latest actor to sign on is Lola Kirke, whose credits include The Leftovers, Gone Girl, American Made, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,...

Crime procedurals have thrived on primetime television for over two decades, and several of them are still streamed frequently.
Popular shows like Law & Order, Law & Order: Svu, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and NCIS have existed since the 1990s and the 2000s. Due to their popularity, these series have created multiple spinoffs and revivals.
Almost every network has at least one crime procedural on their primetime TV lineup. NBC has an entire night devoted to the Law & Order Universe. CBS has more procedurals than we can count, and they recently added another with Tracker, led by Justin Hartley.
While crime procedurals are still one of the most-watched genres, has the primetime TV lineup become overstuffed with them?
Let's discuss why some of them have thrived for years and the potential upcoming scheduling issues.

The Walt Disney Company’s local ABC television division has struck an agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group to carry one of its digital television networks.

The eight markets that will start carrying Charge! on local ABC stations are New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Fresno and Raleigh-Durham.

Ramy Youssef may not be a household name, but his self-titled comedy series "Ramy" on Hulu landed him Emmy nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, not to mention a Peabody Award in 2020. So, he's got the right amount of experience and accolades to be called up to host "Saturday Night Live." Furthermore, Youssef is an established stand-up comedian, joining the likes of Nate Bargatze and Shane Gillis as hosts this season. But how did he handle the live sketch comedy of "SNL" in his hosting debut?
Well, Ramy Youssef doesn't seem to have much versatility when it comes to providing a variety of characters, and "SNL" leaned back on familiar formulas like talk shows and game shows, though they still delivered some hearty laughs. But there were also some amusing, peculiar sketches in this episode, and of course, big laughs...

Exclusive: Anthony E. Zuiker, the creator of the hugely successful CSI TV franchise, has signed with boutique management firm Literate.
This marks a rare new addition to Zuiker’s close-knit representation team, nicknamed affectionately by the writer-producer “Team Zuiker,” who has been shaping his career and brand for more than two decades.
It follows the January death of Zuiker’s beloved manager of over 25 years, Margaret Riley, most recently of Lighthouse Entertainment, who passed away from cancer at the age of 58.
In a moving tribute for Deadline at the time, Zuiker recalled how Riley signed Zuiker on his 30th birthday, 8/17/1998, when he was still trying to break into Hollywood. Helping him land early writing gigs that led to CSI, Riley also took Zuiker to the talent agencies, with him landing at CAA with Joe Cohen, and introduced him to entertainment lawyer Kevin Yorn. Both are still members of “Team Zuiker,...

NCIS has been part of the television landscape for the past two decades.
Following a two-episode backdoor pilot on Jag in 2003, the redundantly named Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service debuted in the fall of that year.
Although it started slowly ratings-wise in its first couple of seasons, a franchise soon was born.
Now in its 21st season, NCIS has produced more than 450 episodes and six spinoff series, a record unmatched in TV history (although Law & Order fans doubtless will quibble).
Maybe now, shortly after the series said goodbye to its second-most popular character on NCIS Season 21 Episode 2, would be a good time for a hiatus.
That's insane, you say, what with two new spinoffs in the pipeline.
Look back fondly
Let's start with the fact that every day, on cable and streaming, fans can watch their favorite episodes from the golden years of NCIS, back before Abby, Tony, Ziva,...

Alan Ritchson is a force of nature in Prime Video's "Reacher," where he delivers a compelling, book-accurate performance of the titular drifter with a penchant for solving crimes. Ritchson balances Reacher's brute strength with the perfect amount of vulnerability, painting him as a man fiercely dedicated to the cause, willing to evolve as a person when the situation demands so. While Reacher is perhaps one of his best roles so far, Ritchson's career is marked with performances that need to be highlighted, given how often they tend to be overlooked.
Before Ritchson started playing buff dudes who could beat up anyone in the room, he embodied a diverse range of characters on both the big and small screens. Ritchson started his career with a recurring guest role in the DC Comics series "Smallville," where he played Arthur Curry/Aquaman — a role he reprised when he voiced the character in the animated film,...

Alan Ritchson is now best known for ‘Fast X’ and ‘Reacher,’ a popular show based on Lee Child’s book series. He’s steadily rising as a major action star. But before landing big roles, Ritchson was just trying to break into Hollywood. He auditioned for the role of Marvel’s God of Thunder in the 2011 standalone movie ‘Thor.’ However, Ritchson admitted in his interview with Men’s Health that he didn’t take the role too seriously.
I didn’t take it seriously.I was like, They’ll throw me the part if I look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.
This turned out to be wrong, as his audition for the role didn’t impress, and it eventually went to Hemsworth, who became iconic as the God of Thunder. It seems Ritchson was affected by this failed audition.
Before MCU’s Thor, Ritchson had already landed superhero roles.

Rod Holcomb, an Emmy-winning TV director of “ER,” “Lost” and other series, died Wednesday in Los Angeles. He was 80.
Holcomb was best known for directing both the pilot and the series finale of “ER,” winning an Emmy for that farewell episode in 2009. He was nominated four four Primetime Emmys over his career, and also nominated for three DGA awards — winning one in 1995 for the “ER” pilot. Holcomb directed 21 pilots over his career, with the remarkable track record of 15 going to series.
“Every good director will elevate the material on the page. His job is to elevate it visually, to give it the weight of an art form,” Holcomb told Variety in 2011. “In a way, it’s easier to determine with a show that you know very well as a viewer, and if you know the contours and the voice of the show, then you can more easily answer some key questions.

His job is to elevate it visually, to give it the weight of an art form,” Holcomb told Variety in 2011. “In a way, it’s easier to determine with a show that you know very well as a viewer, and if you know the contours and the voice of the show, then you can more easily answer some key questions.

Rod Holcomb, an Emmy-winning ER director who also helmed Battlestar Galactica, The Six Million Dollar Man, China Beach and dozens of other shows and was a longtime Directors Guild negotiating committee menber, has died. He was 80.
The DGA said Holcomb died Wednesday in Los Angeles after a long illness.
“The DGA deeply mourns the passing of Rod Holcomb — a visionary director whose impact on television direction and the creative rights of television directors cannot be overstated,” DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter said in a statement. “Rod’s influence as a pilot director on shows like China Beach and ER among many others, resonated deeply with directors and audiences alike, leaving a cultural imprint. His pioneering use of Steadicam and other techniques brought a more cinematic style to television, helping establish a visual aesthetic that continues today.”

"Bones" fans will surely recall that "Angela Montenegro" was not the birth name of the character played by actress Michaela Conlin. The origin of her true full birth name was one of the show's longest-running mysteries, and showrunner Hart Hanson and the "Bones" writers held onto that secret until the 10th season's 21st episode, "The Life in the Light," where it was revealed that "Angela" was actually born with a far more ... unusual name: Pookie Noodlin Pearly-Gates Gibbons.
That delightfully unconventional name makes a little more sense when you remember that Billy F. Gibbons, the guitarist and lead singer of rock band Zz Top, played Angela's father on the show, and he was essentially playing a heightened version of himself. But the writers took things a step further and embedded a hidden reference into the relationship between Gibbons and Angela that only hardcore Zz Top fans would know.

Sudden success is a hell of a drug. Be it entertainment, sports, or certain, shockingly competitive sectors of the healthcare industry, you can count on numerous fast risers to get high on their own supply and take an ego-fueled torch to their career.
Television actors are especially susceptible to these vain slip-ups, and it's easy to understand why. Before the advent of prestige TV, the small-screen medium was, particularly for young-ish performers, viewed as a potential springboard to big-screen stardom. Sometimes it works out. Chevy Chase bolted from "Saturday Night Live" midway through its second season and instantly became a movie star on the strength of his work in Colin Higgins' sporadically hilarious "Foul Play" (even though he's far from the funniest element of the film). And sometimes you're David Caruso, who quit "NYPD Blue" to topline a pair of 1995 flops in Barbet Schroder's "Kiss of Death" (underrated) and William Friedkin's "Jade".

Shining Vale star Mira Sorvino was the favorite heading into Tuesday’s (January 2) Celebrity Jeopardy! semi-finals, but it was Abbott Elementary‘s Lisa Ann Walter who made an impressive comeback to take home the win. The semi-finals saw Sorvino facing off against Walter and Ghosts star Utkarsh Ambudkar, and it initially looked like Sorvino’s game to lose. She’d previously won her first game against CSI: Miami actor Adam Rodriguez and NFL Network host Peter Schrager, which aired just a day after she was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars. Jeopardy! producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss previously described this episode as “her favorite match of the season,” and it certainly lived up to the billing as all three contestants got out to a hot start, with all three within $300 at the first break. Walter had a slight lead after the Jeopardy! round after finding the first Daily Double, going into...

Ok, I’ve thought about this long and hard, discussed with my local priest and therapist, and after much internal strife, I’ve decided it’s time. You hear a lot about rip-offs for franchises, particularly the big ones. We have Jaws rip-offs, Exorcist rip-offs, Halloween rip-offs, and more. What you don’t hear a lot about, and good lord do they exist, are the multiple rip-offs of Gremlins. Gremlins got its own incredible sequel and then finally this year its very own animated show that is… fine… it’s fine. But with Gremlins profitability came the clones. We got the fun and good with the Critters franchise, the bad with both Munchies and Hobgoblins,...
