Yogesh Chiplunkar
- Additional Crew
- Camera and Electrical Department
Yogesh Chiplunkar completed his Diploma in Applied Art from L.S. Raheja School of Art and started pursuing Commercial Photography. His mastery over the medium soon fetched him a job at the Indian Express Group.
While working with Indian Express, he was introduced to documentary photography. Fascinated by the power of this new medium-where newsworthy images are chronicled to depict an incident-Yogesh met and interacted with other photographers within the publishing industry to explore this form of photography further. Although documentary photography is extremely demanding compared to other forms of photography, Yogesh took it up as a challenge and managed to build a strong portfolio learning the art.
He later went on to work with Femina magazine-one of India's finest women's magazine-capturing vivid portraits of women from all spheres of life. He has also had the opportunity to document films by working with filmmakers such as Leena Yadav where he was assigned to work on still shots of the cast of Teen Patti starring Amitabh Bachchan; director Luv Ranjan with whom he worked on the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Avik Ali with whom he worked on the film De De Pyaar De And Subhash Kapoor's next Madam Chief Minister starring Richa Chadha.
He then went on to be part of a successful group show called Trails of Holi, where three photographers were assigned to creatively use colours through different situations. Here Yogesh captured the spirit of the oldest and Asia's second largest red-light district in Mumbai, Kamathipura. He is currently working towards launching his first solo exhibition.
