Underscore Talent is betting big on Web3. The management company, launched in 2021 by Studio71 Co-Founders Dan Weinstein and Reza Izad, has announced a division called Underscore Labs. Through its new wing, Underscore will utilize a three-pronged approach to assemble a roster of blockchain-based intellectual property.
To head its Web3 Lab, Underscore has hired Brandon Eng, the Co-Founder of Purebase Studio. Eng’s venture, which has launched Nft collections like Lucky Zeros and Minisupers, will be woven into Underscore Labs. “Reza and Dan are at the forefront of digital and media,” Eng said in a statement, “and I am thrilled to partner with them to launch this new venture at the horizon of the next digital frontier.”
Underscore Labs will connect Web3 IP to “top creative talent in media.” Nft projects have evolved into entertainment properties, as evidenced by a recent music video that stars several members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

With its latest hire, Underscore Talent is appealing to group of creators who love to get out of the house. The talent management company established by the co-founders of the Studio 71 network has brought on Abe Santos, the former Head of Partner Engagement at YouTube, to lead a new division dedicated to outdoorsy creators.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Santos joined Underscore in July. The former law enforcement officer will manage creators who fall into the “outdoor” category, which covers extreme sports, fishing, and cars, among other topics. Santos will help his charges launch podcasts, establish businesses, and claim opportunities that have not previously been afforded to many outdoor creators. “By bringing Abe into the company, we will be able to provide representation for what has been to date an underserved creator group,” said Underscore Talent Co-Founder Reza Izad in a statement.

A creator who dives for sunken treasure has secured a precious reward for all his hard work. Brandon Jordan, the titular star of the Jiggin' with Jordan YouTube channel, has landed a development deal with the TV production company Dorsey Pictures.
Jordan explores various outdoorsy activities on his channel. He fishes and hunts, but most of all, he dives. By submerging himself in popular swimming and boating locations, he is able to locate sunken items while cleaning up the seafloor. Occasionally, in videos that are reminiscent of the Adventures with Purpose channel, he helps locate evidence in ongoing criminal cases.
So if you drop your Juul while tubing, don't worry. Jordan might be able to find it for you.
