The series’ 50th anniversary is coming up in just a couple of years, and the producers say they have big changes coming in time for that show.
Here is what the producers had to say about the upcoming Survivor 50.

Everyone knows the game of Survivor does not begin when players hit the beach—especially when those players are returning contestants who have met and mingled off the island. Pre-game alliances are often the norm. That’s why the phones and social media accounts of previous Survivor players have been blowing up ever since Jeff Probst announced that season 50 of Survivor would feature blasts from the past, and even a franchise legend has gotten into the act. I'm stirring it up on social media like I like to do, Boston Rob Mariano tells Entertainment Weekly. Slide into the DMs, all you...

Survivor producers have continued the trend of releasing Ponderosa videos after the season.
During older seasons, footage from Ponderosa served as a treat for fans keeping up with the show.
But now the Ponderosa footage is held back until later, and it’s not as extensive as before.
At least each jury member has been getting some post-season time in the spotlight, and recently Tiffany Ervin got her shot.
Tiffany finished Survivor 46 in eighth place. She overcame a lot, as her tribe (Yanu) was terrible through the first few weeks.
As part of the Survivor 46 jury, Tiffany voted for Kenzie Petty to win. It helped Kenzie secure a 5-3 victory over Charlie Davis.

Below is Tiffany’s video from Ponderosa. She was eliminated on Day 19 and became the fourth person to join the jury.

Survivor fans get to enjoy a new video from Ponderosa.
This one features Q Burdette following his time in the game.
Each season, Survivor players who have been voted out go to Ponderosa in Fiji.
It’s a place to recover from playing the game, get some good food, and think about what could have been.
Poderosa is like a small resort for the players, and it’s where the Survivor jury hangs out until it’s time to vote for the winner.
In past seasons, Ponderosa clips were shown during the season, but Survivor recently shifted to releasing them after the finale.

Quintavius “Q” Burdette was voted out on Day 23 of the season. And it happened soon after he found a Hidden Immunity Idol that could have saved him.

Survivor 46 has released a new video from Fiji.
This video features Venus Vafa at Ponderosa as she speaks about her time in Fiji.
It is a reaction video following Venus getting voted out. It was even worse for her because she had a Hidden Immunity Idol.
Not playing their Idols was a theme for the Survivor 46 cast, and something Hunter McKnight recently revealed in his video.
Venus finished in seventh place after she helped get Tiffany Nicole Ervin eliminated. Knowing she was a target, Venus searched (and found) a Hidden Immunity Idol that was placed back in the game.
Venus was looking ahead in the game instead of focusing on the moment, and she tried to stretch her Idol a bit longer. It didn’t work, as she got voted out 5-1-1.

Charlie Davis spoke about investing in himself and finishing school while on Survivor 46.
He did exactly that and finished law school. Now he can begin the next chapter in his life.
Charlie became a fan-favorite Season 46 castaway, often relating Taylor Swift’s lyrics to what he was experiencing in Fiji.
It even led to a jury member ordering him not to mention Taylor Swift as he tried to get their votes.
Now back in the United States, Charlie can quote his favorite singer as often as he wants. And that happened in a recent video shared online.
Charlie shared a video where he was in the shower singing about why he was saddened by Maria Gonzalez not voting for him. Of course, Taylor Swift’s music was playing.

When Jeff Probst declared at the start of “Survivor” Season 41 that the “New Era” could best be described as, “Drop the 4, keep the 1,” he wasn’t kidding. It’s clear the host/producer envisions the revamped version of the reality TV show that takes place post-Covid and with more diversity representation as a fresh start. That’s likely why we haven’t had any players from the first 40 seasons pop up on our TV screens in a long while. In fact, the last comeback cycle was “Winners at War,” which welcomed back 20 past champions for Season 40 in 2020.

On May 31, 2000, CBS unveiled Survivor, a reality competition series produced by Mark Burnett that would become a juggernaut, inspiring spinoffs and imitators over the ensuing decades. The Hollywood Reporter’s original review of its season 1 premiere is below:
The concept is insulting, the presentation is deceptive and the narration is laughingly overdramatic, and yet somehow, Survivor turns all of this into intriguing television that practically dares you to click the remote, knowing that you won’t.
In the U.S. version of this British reality show, 16 people are divided into two teams and dropped off a couple hours’ swim from a remote island in the South China Sea. They are given a baffling array of supplies, including knives, fishing traps, cans of food, a map to potable water and even a team flag, but no matches or port-a-potties. Clearly, this is no three-hour tour.

Hunter McKnight finished in ninth place on Survivor 46, and now he has a video showing what happened after his torch was snuffed.
Hunter looked like someone who could win Survivor 46 early in the season. But it just wasn’t meant to be, as he also became a threat to many players.
Despite having an Immunity Idol in his pocket, Hunter got voted out at a pivotal Tribal Council on Day 17. He finished in ninth place and became the third jury member.
On finale night, Hunter voted for Charlie Davis to win. He was one of only three people who voted for Charlie, and Kenzie Petty became the Survivor 46 winner.
We didn’t see much of Ponderosa as the season progressed, as the production team stopped releasing footage.

Survivor 46 players have been receiving backlash due to events from the recent season.
Maria Gonzalez is one player who has received blowback from fans who are frustrated that she didn’t vote for Charlie Davis to win.
Maria and Charlie had worked together for most of the season, but on finale night, Maria voted for Kenzie Petty to win the $1 million prize.
The Survivor 46 jury also appeared to treat Charlie and Ben Katzman harshly as the players argued about why they deserved to win.
Disagreements between castaways also surfaced on social media as the season wound down.
Venus Vafa said Ponderosa was “traumatizing” for her, leading to online feuds with several castaways. And then fans piled on.

These new seasons will air in the fall and spring on CBS, and new players will compete for the $1 million prize.
During the Survivor 46 season finale, we saw the first footage from the upcoming season, but they weren’t done filming yet.

While some Survivor fans are already looking ahead to Season 50, we still have three new seasons to play before that momentous installment.
As usual, host Jeff Probst has been teasing details about what is happening in Fiji.

Survivor 46 winner Kenzie Pretty just debuted a shocking new hairstyle that shakes things up.

Kenzie recently revealed that she is pregnant, so going back to her normal hair color might be a result.

Survivor fans have enjoyed the past few years when pop star Sia awarded her own money to contestants. However, Jeff Probst announced this week that Sia has chosen not to take part in giving out money anymore. While it has come to an end, one Season 46 contestant wants to personally keep this idea alive.
Here is who wants to replace Sia in awarding prize money and how they want to start this endeavor.
Survivor Contestant Wants To Start Their Own Prize Fund

It’s the end of an era — Sia is done giving cash prizes to her favorite Survivor contestants and winners. For the past 14 seasons, the singer has personally awarded a select few contestants an extra cash prize from her own personal funds. To date, Sia has given away more than $1 million. But after the conclusion of season 46 came and went earlier this week with seemingly no Sia prize handed out, Survivor host Jeff Probst confirmed that the singer has decided to stop awarding her own “Sia Prize.”

The Sia Prize has become a familiar post-season award to fun players from each Survivor cast.
Singer Sia had given out cash prizes to the players she most enjoyed watching each season.
Sia enjoyed rewarding several players each season, with recent winners including Kaleb Gebrewold, Jake O’Kane, Carolyn Wiger, Carson Garrett, and Elaine Stott.
Players had been getting up to $100,000 for being her favorite player in a season or $15,000 for being entertaining. And she did this for eight years.
Sia is one of the biggest Survivor fans out there, and the players getting her prize would usually get invited to meet and party with her.
But it is the end of an era, as it has been announced that Sia is done with the prizes and that nobody from the Survivor 46 cast will get one.

Jeff Probst is calling an end to “one of the most unique eras in the history of Survivor.” No more Survivor players will win the so-called Sia Prize, the cash award the pop star has doled out to her favorite participants on the CBS reality show since 2016. “After eight years, 14 seasons, 19 players and over $1,000,000 awarded, Survivor is officially bringing the Sia Prize to a triumphant end!” Probst wrote on Friday, updating his Instagram Stories with a post that Sia later shared in her own Stories. Instagram The Survivor host said he “vividly remember[s]” when Sia crashed the stage during the live finale of Survivor: Kaôh Rōng — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty in 2016 and rewarded contestant Tai Trang $50,000 of her own money for his compassion toward a chicken during the season. “Tai was shocked, the audience was shocked, I was shocked! Sia will no longer dispense cash bonuses to her favorite “Survivor” players, CBS reality competition host Jeff Probst announced Friday on Instagram.

Charlie Davis proved on Survivor 46 that he is the biggest Taylor Swift fan the show has seen.
It even led to a jury member (Tiffany Ervin) lashing out at him during the final speeches.
But Charlie isn’t ashamed about being a part of the Swifties (Taylor Swift fan group).
During the Survivor 46 season finale, Charlie lost the jury vote to Kenzie Petty.
Had his bestie from the game, Maria Gonzalez, voted for him, it would have created a tie. Ben Katzman also said he would have voted for Charlie to break the tie.
The vote means Charlie likely missed out on winning the $1 million due to how Maria voted. Now that he can share his feelings about what happened in Fiji, Charlie posted a video on social media.

Survivor 46 just ended with Kenzie Petty shockingly winning. The season had some of the worst gameplay in years. Several people left the island with Immunity Idols in their pockets, and blindsides happened all the way into the finale. Now, with a Survivor 47 promo already released, there is some thought that changes are needed.
One thought is that Jeff Probst needs to go.
Should Jeff Probst Leave Survivor?
Survivor 46 was a weird season. The season set a record for bad gameplay, with more people eliminated while holding Immunity Idols than any other season in history. Additionally, the end was a shock, as Maria betrayed her ally Charlie by voting against him in the jury decision. This cost him the million-dollar prize and likely ended their friendship.
Now, some people think that Jeff Probst might be the problem. The current season is the fifth in the “new era” for Survivor where there have been formatting changes.

Producer Mark Burnett expected a hit when he sent 16 contestants and a then-unknown 38-year-old host named Jeff Probst to the Borneo island of Malaysia for an adaptation of the Swedish competition show Expedition Robinson. What he got instead was a cultural phenomenon. Survivor instantly became a ratings juggernaut, and viewership for the first season finale reached north of 50 million. Reality TV existed before Survivor, but the show’s low overhead and potential for mass appeal single-handedly ushered in the reality-competition boom.
In the 24 years since it hit airwaves, Survivor has morphed from a “social experiment” into television’s most complex and grueling competition, with players practically raised on the show elevating it to new heights of strategy. Its motto—“Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.”—speaks to the complex permutations of physical strength, mental acumen, and social skills that can produce winners as diverse as season 30’s Mike Holloway, who got himself to...

When the universe offers a sign — and the sign comes straight from the lips of Nicolas Cage — you can’t ignore it.
That, in essence, is how 31-year-old guitarist Ben Katzman found himself on Survivor. The paperwork sat on his desk, but Katzman was racked with doubt. The Survivor 47 cast now takes over the spotlight from CBS following an epic conclusion to the previous season.
Television viewers saw the Survivor 46 winner get crowned, and then it was time for the network to begin teasing the next new season.
It was tricky for a promo to get rolled out so early, especially because the Survivor 47 cast is filming in Fiji.
Had a live Survivor Reunion Show happened for Season 46, host Jeff Probst may have had difficulties pulling it off while filming the new castaways.
But alas, the Survivor Reunion Shows have vanished, replaced with a pizza party in Fiji, and players being forced to react immediately after the final vote.
Luckily, we all have our first look at the Survivor 47 cast, with the new players filming ahead of a Fall 2024 debut on CBS.

Let’s break down this penultimate episode to determine who will come out on top in the final episode and where these remaining five players stand.
