Isaac Gale and Ryan Olson’s Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted isn’t the sort of “important” documentary that generally wins awards, but it’s a fine example of something even rarer: a documentary that draws its voice and aesthetic from the spirit of its subject, resulting in a tight 97 minutes that feel organic and satisfying and, as befits that subject, appealingly odd.
When it comes to Swamp Dogg, I’m not sure if there’s a middle ground between “Who?!?” and “Swamp Dogg is the Best!!!” though perhaps Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted will create an appreciative warmth in that space.
Swamp Dogg has acquired his position as a musical cult icon by virtue of an astonishing adjacency to fame that dates back to his first recorded song in 1954. In the subsequent 70 years, he’s been signed to, recorded for, and even been an executive at possibly dozens of labels.

Listening to three hours of Katt Williams can’t be easy, but some sound bites from a recent interview have made the waves, triggering a response from his targets, including Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer.
In Katt Williams’ viral interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast, the comedian targeted the aforementioned comedians with various claims. The most damning is that Williams maintains that his Friday After Next character, Money Mike (a pimp…), was originally supposed to be raped, which he insisted on cutting. Ice Cube, who produced, wrote and starred in the movie, had a different recollection, saying Williams didn’t have as much influence as he remembered. “We do what we feel…and if it was a rape scene it woulda been in the movie. There was no reason not to shoot it. But that’s not my style. I don’t even like that kind of sh*t in movies.

50 Cent will executive produce an upcoming documentary about the sexual assault allegations swirling around Sean “Diddy” Combs. What’s more, proceeds from the documentary “will go to victims of sexual assault and rape,” according to the rapper.
Confirmed by G-Unit Films and Television, the production company founded by 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson), the new documentary will detail Combs’ record of alleged predatoary behavior, and will present new accusations regarding his alleged pattern of harassment and assault against women.
The documentary arrives as Combs finds himself at the center of a number of new sexual assault allegations. Last month, he was sued by his former girlfriend and label signee, the singer Cassie, for rape and years of repeated physical abuse, which ended in a settlement one day later. Since that, though, a number of additional suits have been filed, accusing Combs of heinous acts, such as distributing “revenge porn” and...

Former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry, author of the 2009 Sean “Diddy” Combs expose, Dancing With The Devil, shared some of his Bad Boy recollections with the YouTube channel Art of Dialogue last week. But now that it’s open season on Combs, who was hit with three lawsuits alleging rape, assault, and other mistreatment, Curry is making allegations that he left off the page.

It’s hard to believe that season 9 of “The Masked Singer” has seen the departure of eight celebrities already. The most recent exits were Squirrel, who was revealed to be actress Malin Akerman, and Jackalope, who turned out to be social media sensation Lele Pons. The latter lost the Battle Royale to Fairy on March 15.
We’ve watched Fairy’s winning performance of “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons again as well as her first time at the mike when she nailed a cover of the Linda Ronstadt classic “You’re No Good.” And we’ve taken another look at her clues package. Paul Kovacich was found guilty of murdering his wife, Janet Kovacich. Pic credit: CA Dept. of Corrections
Deadly Sins: No Forgiveness is investigating the murder of Janet Kovacich, who was killed by her husband in Placer County, California, in 1982.
Paul had been a Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy, and the young couple lived with their two children in Auburn, CA. The investigators would later learn that Janet had been trapped in an abusive and controlling marriage.
The police believe that Paul murdered his wife because she had wanted to leave him. Janet disappeared on September 8, 1982, but unfortunately, it took over 25 years for Paul to be brought to justice.
Janet’s whereabouts remained unknown until 1995 when part of her skull was found in nearby Lake Rollins with an obvious bullet hole. It took ten years to identify the skull, at which point Paul was placed in custody.

Sports stories have traditionally belonged to the movies. Something about the rhythms of competition, in which an athlete or team trains, plays, and then either wins or loses, is a natural fit for the film world’s three act structure.
Television, with its multiple episodes and seasons, is often more discursive and therefore less viable for truly great sports stories. Thankfully, that all seems poised to change. While some sports TV shows have found success in the past, now the medium has really kicked things up a notch. Sports stories like Brockmire, Ted Lasso, Cobra Kai, and more are not only welcome on television, but an essential part of the cable and streaming landscape.

The audience of “The Masked Singer” may have had their say, but our Derbyites are determined to have their voices heard about what went down on the Season 3 finale. They voted in our poll and a surprising 57% of our readers say the coveted Golden Mask should have gone to pop star Jesse McCartney, who competed as the Turtle. Heading into “The Masked Singer” Season 3 finale, only three costumed celebrities remained in the running to win the Golden Mask: Frog, Night Angel and Turtle. Were Gold Derby’s odds correct that Frog would ribbit his way to the winner’s circle, joining T-Pain (Monster) and Wayne Brady (Fox), or did Night Angel or Turtle prevail instead? And did the expert panel of judges — Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy and Ken Jeong — correctly guess any of the three secret identities?

Exclusive: More than three years ago, Netflix successfully opened a new area of original programming, the family sitcom, with a reboot of Warner Bros TV’s Tgif comedy Full House. The sequel series was a breakout hit, tapping into nostalgia for those who had grown up with the original series while also drawing a new generation of viewers.
That success was probably not lost on WarnerMedia executives as they are prepping the launch of a streaming platform to rival Netflix and have been discussing with Warner Bros TV brass library titles they can exploit for the new service.
I hear the WarnerMedia streamer is eyeing reboots of other Wbtv-produced classic Tgif comedies, like Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, its spinoff Family Matters, as well as Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. Sources stressed that talks are in exploratory stages, and it’s unclear whether any of the potential revivals would come to fruition,...

The "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" star fell victim to a huge tree falling over Wednesday during the massive rain storm blowing through the L.A. area. The tree was so big the fire department had to come out for cleanup duty, but the video is pretty bizarre.

It's a "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" reunion!
Raven-Symoné, the young star of the '90s ABC sitcom, will guest star on Nick at Nite's "See Dad Run," which co-stars Mark Curry, who played the titular character on "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper."
“See Dad Run” centers on a former sitcom (Scott Baio) who's now a stay-at-home father. Raven will play talk show host Whitney Gibbons. David (Baio) agrees to appear on her show despite their previous history. Cooper plays David's friend Marcus on the series.
Raven's episode is set to air during Season 2 in the fall on Nick at Nite.
Curry keeps his "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" co-stars close. While filling in for Billy Bush as a guest host on "Access Hollywood Live" in March, Holly Robinson Peete said that she and Curry see each other all the time because their kids are in the same class.

"Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" may be a distant, yet fond memory for many fans of ABC's T.G.I.F. lineup, but the series' former stars Holly Robinson Peete and Mark Curry are still ... well, hangin'.
While filling in for Billy Bush as a guest host on Access Hollywood Live this week, Peete said she and Curry see each other all the time because their kids are in the same class.
"When you do a TV series with someone for five or six years, you either never want to see that person again or they're a permanent member of your family," Peete said. "The irony is that Mark's daughter and my son are in the same class so I hang with Mr. Cooper every day."

Who is Ross Patterson, you ask? That’s what I wanted to know. So when I was given the opportunity to pick apart the genius of writer Ross Patterson — also known in certain circles as Saint James St. James — I felt it was my duty to the world to explore the inner workings of his mind. And if you haven’t seen “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, then you should stop what you’re doing and immediately atone for your sins. I know for a fact that it’s available on Netflix streaming here in the States. If you have a subscription, it would seem you have no reason to pass this one by. Plus: Kevin Sorbo and Mark Curry. That’s too fly. I’ve gotta know: What came first, Saint James St. James or Poolboy? That’s a lot like asking if David Hasselhoff or Dolph Lundgren came first.

Here is a horror story; Kevin Sorbo is starring in a low brow comedy feature with Danny Trejo called Poolboy, or Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury. Camelot Entertainment Group has just released the trailer on this feature and in the clip lots of B move actors taking part. Also showing are Jason Mewes, Mark Curry and Robert Lasardo. Step into some craziness as Sorbo plays a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, from his work cleaning pools.
The synopsis for the film is here:
"In this unearthed lost movie from 1990 that the studio deemed too terrible to release, a Vietnam Veteran Sal Bando (Sorbo), tortured by his past as a poolboy, returns home to Van Nuys, California, and a country he doesn't recognize, in which it seems only Mexicans run pool-cleaning companies.
