Going naked in films can be both positive and liberating or sometimes embarrassing and hilarious for actors. For example, while going nude for Red Sparrow was liberating for Jennifer Lawrence, as it helped her deal with insecurities, on the other hand, Kate Winslet finds them awkward. And while it’s not uncommon for actors to bear it all onscreen if the script demands, not every actor is on board with going full-frontal, including Michael Caine.
Speaking of his decision to never go nude in front of the camera, Caine explained it could impact the actor’s control over the audience and asked actors not to go full-frontal nude.

James Bond: a franchise known for its complex web of deceit, high-stakes power struggles, and bitter rivalries. In a world where alliances are easily forged and broken, the players are always looking for an angle to gain the upper hand. A realm where secrets are currency and the truth is only revealed to those who hold power. A landscape marked by twists and turns, where loyalties are tested, and betrayals are commonplace.
And I’m not even talking about the seminal spy’s escapades! Behind the martini-sipping, globe-trotting, and high-octane action, an arguably more intriguing drama has unfolded for decades. Welcome to the battle over James Bond film intellectual rights, where real-life drama might be more thrilling than any fictional plot. Where producers and studios engage in a game of cat and mouse, and the prize is control over the most iconic spy franchise in history.

Christian Bale has scored quite a few remarkably successful projects as one of the best actors in the industry, and he hasn’t hesitated to perform immaculately in pretty much every single one of them either. But while all of them are commendable, perhaps none comes as close to perfection as The Dark Knight, helmed by the mastermind Christopher Nolan.

Besides quite literally being regarded as one of the best Batman movies created to date, the second titular movie in this film series also even holds a major record that would be hard to replicate for any other movie. The masterpiece stars such legendary actors with such impeccable acting chops that pretty much the entire main cast has been acknowledged by the Academy at least once.

Christian Bale’s Batman will forever remain iconic. The actor perfectly captured the essence of the Caped Crusader and with Christoper Nolan’s help, was able to bring forth some of the best superhero films of all time. The Dark Knight trilogy set the bar so high that it is near-impossible for others to reach the height.

Playing a character like Batman is not an easy task and there is very little room for error. After all, there are years and years of history behind the superhero and we wouldn’t want to upset the die-hard fans now, would we? In order to bring their best out, actors improvise sometimes and while Christian Bale tried to do so once, Michael Caine brutally shut him down and the young actor decided that it was better for him not to argue back.

2007’s Children of Men, a dystopian action thriller, made just $76 million at the box office but is still remembered due to the directorial genius of Alfonso Cuaron. Far before Cuaron impressed the world, and us, with his space epic Gravity, he demonstrated his ability to produce innovative storytelling with the use of powerful single-shot sequences, which made the movie an inspiration for newer directors looking to widen their skillset.

The term ‘veteran’ sits easily and seamlessly on the shoulders of Michael Caine. The British thespian who has made a name for himself through many memorable roles in Hollywood, is also a role model for aspiring actors when it comes to presenting a character on the big screen. Interestingly, Caine who has won the Oscar twice for Best Supporting Actor, is yet to bag the golden statuette for a lead role.

Put on any action movie made between 1903’s The Great Train Robbery and 2017’s John Wick, pay attention to the risks playing out before you, and you’ll never stop asking why the hell aren’t stunt performers lauded for their efforts by the Academy Awards. In the 1970s, one of the greatest and most underrated decades for action movies, you could still see every danger to life and limb on screen. CGI wasn’t around yet, and the law was barely paying attention.
The result is an era where bloody martial arts imports and Blaxploitation commentary blended with tight-wire action and terrifyingly real stunts. The very best remain iconic, from the Dirty Harrys to 1979’s global phenomenon, Mad Max. But with the passage of time comes forgetting, and the ‘70s hide some of the best, wildest, and sometimes even edgiest movies waiting for fans to rediscover.

Have you ever been so moved by the impact of the power of cinematic stories that you ended up crying and thinking about the intricate details of a plot long after the film ends? Leonardo DiCaprio’s scene from Inception, the masterpiece by Christopher Nolan, does exactly that, encapsulating an emotional resonance that can still leave many of us affected.
A quick recall: After spending so many years in exile overseas, veteran dream thief Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) finally came clean of murder charges. To make sure he is not still dreaming, Cobb chose to give his totem one last spin as he entered his house.

But as soon as our hero saw the expressions on his children’s faces, he forgot everything and rushed to embrace them. The camera then momentarily lingered on the spinning top, bringing us back to reality.

One of the classic movie tropes of studio comedies, and especially in the 70s and 80s- is the ever-clever “slobs vs snobs” tale. You know, the blue-collar underdog against a preppy, often annoyingly sophisticated social elite. Movies like Revenge of the Nerds, Animal House, Wayne’s World, or Caddyshack make this the crux of their stories and often use multiple characters in each category to drive the shenanigans all the way up. But in some cases, a movie will tell the story with just one slob and one snob- and crank them both to their absolute extremes- and then throw in a heist because… we love that stuff.
In today’s episode of Revisited, we’re going to be talking about 1988’s buddy comedy classic- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. This movie stars Steve Martin and (the now retired) Michael Caine as two con artists who make an old western-style bet to run each other out of town.

The prequel film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it is as brilliant and bombastic as the original film. Obviously, we are talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel to George Miller‘s 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by Miller from a screenplay by Nico Lathouris and Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is taken from Green Place of Many Mothers and tries to survive in the wasteland while trying to get back home but the war between great biker horde’s warlord Dementus and Immortan Joe makes it harder. Replacing Charlize Theron from Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy takes over the role of Furiosa in the prequel film and it also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Nathan Jones. The Dark Knight Writer Expresses Interest in Doing a Fourth Movie - Main Image
Jonathan Nolan, the co-writer of The Dark Knight trilogy, recently expressed his interest in revisiting the franchise and doing a fourth movie.
For years, the Christopher Nolan-directed trilogy has been beloved by my fans with the second film considered to be one of the best comic book movies of all time and changed the genre forever.
While the people involved in the trilogy have seemingly moved on from the franchise, some fans are still wondering whether they will revisit that Batman universe once again in the future.

What will you ask the brilliant actor, author, cake decorator and star of new film A Family Affair?
Jane Asher has been on our screens for almost 73 years – her first role was aged five, in Mandy, and she turns 78 on 5 May. But it was aged 17 she really shot to big screen prominence, opposite Vincent Pryce in The Masque of the Red Death.
Then, two years later, in 1966, came Alfie, in which she plays a hitchhiker who becomes the latest in Michael Caine’s litany of conquests; in 1970 she was the lead in Jerzy Skolimowski’s suburban psychodrama Deep End.

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

Now Nolan’s brother and franchise co-writer Jonathan Nolan says he’d be down to return to the Batman universe.
In an interview promoting his hit Amazon series Fallout, Nolan was asked if he’d ever want to revisit the Batman franchise.
“Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Jonathan Nolan wrote The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises alongside his brother (after contributing to Batman Begins), filmmaker Christopher Nolan, and he's since shifted focus to small screen projects like Westworld and Fallout.
Christopher has said on multiple occasions that he's done with Batman, while Christian Bale has vowed to only return if the director does. As a result, we've come to accept this trilogy ended in 2012 and will be left alone.
However, in a new interview, Jonathan has made it clear he'd be open to returning to the Caped Crusader's world...even if his brother would take some convincing.
"Wouldn't that be a dream," he said. "That period was about 10 years of my life, from when I got the call to work on Batman Begins in 2003 to putting out The Dark Knight Rises In 2012 and it was epic."

One of Hollywood’s greatest living actors, Michael Caine, is sending his fans into a tizzy over a photo posted to his personal Twitter account. The image depicts an impressive stack of Caine’s films on DVD and Blu-ray, encapsulating the highs and lows of his storied career as an entertainer. While gems like Get Carter, The Last Valley, and Harry Brown adorn the pile, cinematic blights like On Deadly Ground, Jaws: The Revenge, and The Island sit among the crowd.
The variety of films in Caine’s collection speaks volumes about the actor’s sense of humor and accomplishment. While some actors tend to want to cast their cinematic sins to the fiery depths, Caine proudly displays several of his biggest box office bombs and critically panned misfires. For example, Peter Benchley’s The Island is an insane bit of cinema featuring Caine as a kidnap victim of inbred pirates.

As far as comic book adaptations go, most objective commentators and critics will agree that there is nothing better, overall than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which adapted the character of Batman and his world. Starring Christian Bale in the main role, the trilogy is lauded by critics and fans as well for having elevated the comic book movie to a completely new level, combining the fantasy of these worlds with the realism of our own world in the best way possible. Jonathan Nolan, Christopher’s brother, also contributed to the series as a screenwriter and in a recent interview, he confirmed that he would love to go back to that world at one point.
Jonathan Nolan is Christopher’s frequent collaborator and is credited as the co-writer of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, alongside Christopher. Both brothers have since moved on from comic book adaptations,...

Now You See Me is arguably one of the most underrated heist-thriller franchises of the past decade: despite its high production budgets, star-studded ensemble cast, and absolute commercial success at the global box office, the films have barely been mentioned in the media and on social media platforms nearly 8 years after the release of the second installment.
However, from 2020 to 2023, Lionsgate has been actively releasing information about the upcoming sequel, teasing fans of the film series with updates on the production process. And now, just over a week ago, the media giant announced that Now You See Me 3 is already in post-production, and with that came exciting details about the upcoming cast.
What makes this news so exciting is that Lionsgate will be correcting a mistake that disappointed audiences with the release of the second film, as one of the central and certainly incredibly memorable characters was not able to reprise their role.

When Christopher Nolan Revealed That Tom Hardy Based His Menacing ‘Bane’ On The Dark Knight Rises Maker ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
People wait eagerly for any and every Christopher Nolan movie, and his Batman movies starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne are still considered one of the best comic book films ever. It gave us the classic villain in Heath Ledger’s Joker, and Tom Hardy as Bane was also quite memorable. Hardy did an exceptional job as the anti-hero in The Dark Knight Rises. But did you know it was the film’s director on whom Hardy based his menacing character?
It was the last movie in Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy and came out around four years after the release of 2008’s The Dark Knight. The movie had an ensemble cast of Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman, besides Bale and Hardy.

It didn’t happen at Universal’s presentation, but we finally got a Christopher Nolan announcement at CinemaCon 2024.
On Thursday morning, Paramount Pictures’ President of Domestic Distribution Chris Aronson revealed that Nolan’s “Interstellar” will return to theaters on September 27, 2024 in both 70mm and IMAX formats. The re-release is a celebration of the film’s 10-year anniversary. It is probably also — at least somewhat — a continued celebration of Nolan’s Best Picture-winner “Oppenheimer.”
Of course, the “Oppenheimer” victory isn’t for Paramount to tout, and its studio Universal took a brief victory lap (or two) during its own Wednesday afternoon Colosseum presentation. The on-stage champagne-popping split time with “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and included a prerecorded message from Nolan. (He did not touch on “Mario.”)
In the package played for a packed house of (mostly) exhibitors, Nolan said he had been “very nervous” about showing “Oppenheimer” footage to the same CinemaCon audience last year.

Britain’s contributions to the cinematic form have been vast and glorious. Aardman Animation. Alfred Hitchcock. Olivia Colman. 007. High up that list, too, is the British gangster movie – sure, America may often get the genre limelight with classics like Goodfellas, The Godfather trilogy, and Scarface, but nobody does dark, gritty, violent, and darkly humorous quite like the British. You certainly wouldn’t catch football-hardman-turned-movie-hardman Vinnie Jones rolling down the street with some poor geezer’s bonce trapped in his car window anywhere else, that’s for sure!
And so, with tracksuits on, geezer nicknames doled out, and knuckles dusted, Team Empire assembled a list of the very best British gangster movies ever made. From comedy classics, to bruising turn-of-the-century tales of brutality and crime, to contemporary subversions of the genre formula, we’ve covered all bases. These are films of culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog,...

Three years after the first James Bond film, "Dr. No," a handful of folks who were working on the existing James Bond movies temporarily splintered off to make a completely different kind of spy film. 1965's "The Ipcress File" stars Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, a British secret agent who is much more interested in cooking a high quality meal than skiing off a cliff or dropping quippy one-liners after creatively killing his enemies. There are no scantily clad women, no suggestive double entendres, and no laser beams or gadgets -- in many ways, it's the anti-James Bond movie.
All the more interesting, then, that a handful of key Bond players helped bring this story to the big screen. "The Ipcress File" was scored by John Barry, who was responsible for that iconic James Bond theme song and composed the score for several early Bond pictures, including "Goldfinger" (coincidentally, Michael...

Since the inception of the Academy Awards, the U.S.-based organization behind them has always strived to honor worldwide film achievements. Their extensive roster of competitive acting winners alone consists of artists from 30 unique countries, three of which first gained representation during the 2020s. The last full decade’s worth of triumphant performers hail from eight countries, while 42.1% of the individual actors nominated during that time originate from outside of America.
The academy’s history of recognizing acting talent on a global scale dates all the way back to the inaugural Oscars ceremony in 1929, when Swiss-born Emil Jannings (who was of German and American parentage) won Best Actor for his work in both “The Last Command” and “The Way of All Flesh.” Over the next three years, the Best Actress prize was exclusively awarded to Canadians: Mary Pickford (“Coquette”), Norma Shearer (“The Divorcee”), and Marie Dressler (“Min and Bill...

Cillian Murphy’s Oscars win was special on many grounds, primarily his first Christopher Nolan film as a lead in their sixth collaboration. Oppenheimer is a remarkable film, and Nolan’s vision added to the aesthetic grandness of the biopic, turning it into a cinematic masterpiece.

It’s always nice to see the deserved films get recognition on the night of the Oscars, but there have been a more than few instances when things don’t go as fans imagined. While started as the ceremony to celebrate the best films, over the course of 96 years, there have been several notable snubs, including the Academy’s decision to crown Green Book over BlacKkKlansman.
But the most infamous snub in the Academy’s history, which changed the Award landscape for all the years to come, involves Miramax’s Shakespeare in Love, which defeated Saving Private Ryan.

Robert Downey Jr. looks to have Best Supporting Actor locked up after he swept the precursors for his sterling turn in Christopher Nolan‘s “Oppenheimer.” But while Downey Jr. would be more than a deserving winner for his phenomenal performance, the Oscars always throws up a surprise or two on the actual night. Could we see an upset in Best Supporting Actor?
Downey Jr. is nominated alongside Ryan Gosling (“Barbie”), Mark Ruffalo (“Poor Things”), Sterling K. Brown (“American Fiction”), and Robert De Niro (“Killers of the Flower Moon”). Gosling has lots of support for his sublime “Barbie” performance while Ruffalo and Brown also have their backers, too.
