I loved this episode. They got the bad guy, they kicked butt, and they did it in NYC. Wonderful.
Except this is the episode where some very disconnected writers and/or creators decided to bring Lara Rossi on board as a permanent cast member.
What in this living $*#)@# are you guys thinking? She will always be known as the incredibly inept, bungling, crooked cop who arrested another cop for a murder when she was fully aware he had nothing to do with it. She arrested Nick because he was the last person the victim called. At the time of the arrest, that's all she knew. And she didn't care. She knew for a fact that he was completely innocent but wanted to arrest and prosecute him anyway just to get the easy kill. She represents all that is crooked, all that is reprehensible with law enforcement in the world today. She should have been convicted and imprisoned for knowingly trying to send an innocent man to prison simply because it would make her job easier. I hate, and I mean HATE cops in America today who do this sort of crap EVERY SINGLE DAY and don't care because they know they can pin a crime on whoever is easiest to convict without even a single thought as to who is actually guilty of the crime.
In a good world, people like Lara Rossi's character would spend the rest of their lives in prison. Yet on this crumby show, they bring them on as a full time character.
This episode is the beginning of the end for the series, and that is the reason.
