Another great episode of a solid first season. One of the best things of 'Ceres' is how it develops the character of Cousin Richie.
In the first scene, we have a flashback of Michael telling a story as he's cooking with Richie, Carmy and Sugar. Then it cuts to Richie trying to tell the same story on a first date. It's clear how much Richie lives in the past, he's always sharing stories, even if it's not the adequate moment for that (we see him telling a story to Tina while she's busy, and he has work to do too).
Everything is changing around Richie, such as the neighbourhood, and the system used to run the kitchen. He hates this and claims how delicate the ecosystem is and how it shouldn't change. In a way, when he talks about the ecosystem, he is actually talking about himself.
After Michael's death, things obviously changed around Richie. Since change, in this case, is inevitable, I think it's great how the episode ends, with Tina convincing him that the adjustments made in the kitchen are good for them, and with Richie then proceeding to snitch on the guys who hang out next to the restaurant.
It was also nice to see Carmy and Sugar kind of bonding, since they are going through the same grief, and now we got a glimpse of who Michael was and what it meant for the family.
