We enjoy Donkey Hodie overall. The use of actual puppets is great in an age where most shows aimed at kids are full of cheap CGI. The addition of songs to the laster episodes of season 1 added a little extra spice.
Unfortunately, the back half of this episode was very weak. How did they manage to get every detail of King Friday incorrect? The crown is wrong. The outfit is wrong. The face is wrong. The facial hair is wrong. The voice is wrong. Why use a well known character like KF13 and do it so poorly?
Why not just refer to the character as King Thursday the 12th instead? For a show where the writing and production are typically strong, it seemed odd to phone in a mediocre version of a character beloved by generations of viewers across the world.
