LazyTown (2002–2014)

CREEPY!
15 July 2023
I never liked LazyTown, not even when I was a little kid, mainly because I was scared of the puppets, & I still am. I must say that they look even creepier in the pilot. I love puppets, except for some but not all ventriloquist dolls (mostly ones from the 60s and 70s) and puppets that look like them, including the ones from this show.

I must say that this show gives people refusing to take advice from it a bad name. I get that they're encouraging the audience to live a healthy lifestyle and get exercise, but they treat candy like it's a disease. It gives the impression that you're a bad person if you like candy, play video games, don't like sports or aren't good at them, but there's nothing wrong with those things. It's bad enough that many teenagers and adults obsess about their weight and how their bodies look. Do we seriously need to be reminded of that and pass these negative ways of thinking onto children? Robbie Rotten is the only character I like, but if he isn't happy about LazyTown not being lazy anymore, then why doesn't he move away? Nobody is making him stay.

Some of the kiddie shows I liked as a little kid, I still like and find nostalgic (Sesame Street, Blue's Clues, Bear in the Big Blue House, The Wiggles, etc.), some I now hate/dislike (Dora, season 1 of Caillou, Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, Angelina Ballerina, etc.), but LazyTown is one of the only kiddie shows from my heyday I never liked.

Update for May 17, 2024: I'm now neutral to LazyTown.
