If THE MECHANICAL MONSTERS are flying . . .
20 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
. . . with a pedestrian cruising speed of about 600 MPH (or one mile every six seconds), and the jewel thief robot's cargo bay spills its loot during a three-second span (5:53 - 5:56), THEN it stands to reason that the purloined gems will be hopelessly spread across at least a half mile stretch of the swamps and rivers below. The idea that ALL of this lucrative loot could be "recovered" in time for the next day's DAILY PLANET headlines appears astounding if not preposterous. What seems far more likely to have happened is that "Lois" had tucked them away for safe keeping in one of her little-used bodily vaults (an event that was probably redrawn upon censors' orders), whereupon she decided to turn in some or all of them when she was returned to Earth (perhaps slightly soggy for wear), creating the obvious continuity problem. This seems consistent with most Real Life scenarios, back then and Today, with many public safety units employing teams of specialists for the sole purpose of searching the suspicious compartments of all the nefarious females involved in rampant crime waves.
