The fall of 1984 was a landmark in cartoons featuring robots and humans working together. The transformers led the way, followed by voltron, then mighty orbots and finally gobots. The toys hit store shelves a year before the cartoon debuted as a five part miniseries in syndication to decent ratings before airing a full season which concluded with a theatrical movie featuring the rock lords which didn't do well at the box office compared to transformers.
