The minute I heard it was to be aired, I waited for it with anticipation. To be honest I don't know why! I was never a huge fan of X Files, but there were episodes I found stimulating and above all fun to look at. So there it is, an 8 episode come back. I sat down to watch the first two episodes, and then anticipation turned to boredom, then horror. Eventually I stopped watching. Mostly because the plot was (is I should say) childish and simple to the point of stupidity. Oh yes, the bad government...and like conspiracies arise where none was needed. And then there was the acting! Or the absolute lack of it! I couldn't stand the way Douchovny played the part, it felt as if someone was twisting his arm into the series, not just to sign-in, but all through the episodes themselves.
