A Let Down - feels cheap
1 August 2012
I was a fan of the original series and was looking forward to the 2012 version but was let down.

The new series has a cheapish feel in both photography and direction, sort of like a low budget day time soap.

The dialog isn't interesting, witty or amusing. Not much happens each episode with the same 7 people tangling with each other.

It's good to see the old timers like a rather sickly looking Larry Hagman, a well preserved Linda Gray and the unnecessarily white haired Patrick Duffy (dye your hair and look much younger!).

However the casting of the new generation isn't great. Josh Henderson looks like a farm hand instead of the scion of a wealthy oil family. Jesse Metcalfe is alright but Jordana Brewster is too gaunt and skull like. She isn't alluring enough - remember the A List beauties in the original series like Victoria Principal, Morgan Brittany etc? They need to look at ABC's "Revenge" to see how a soap in 2012 needs to be done!
