Sort of watchable...

Well, if you enjoy the original "Cinderella" tale from Charles Perrault, then chances are that you might also enjoy this reinterpretation from writer Tom Jolliffe, provided you have a thing for homicidal maniac versions of peaceful characters.

I had the opportunity to sit down and watch the 2024 movie "Cinderella's Revenge", and opted to do so since it was a movie that I hadn't even heard about. And given it supposedly being a horror movie, of course I had to check it out. I have to admit, though, that I harbored zero expectations to it, given it's title.

Needless to say that this 2024 take on the story certainly is a lot more dark and sinister than the original story.

Of the entire cast ensemble in the movie, I was only familiar with Natasha Henstridge, and she had but a support role in the movie. It should be noted, however, that the acting performances in the movie were fair enough.

The effects in the movie were adequate. You're not in for anything grand, but the effects do work as intended. There are some nice enough scenes with mayhem and blood to please us gorehounds.

Watchable for what it was, director Andy Edwards's wasn't exactly an outstanding or memorable horror experience. I have to admit that turning the Cinderella character into a homicidal slasher just was a bit of an odd thing. So in a way, I suppose that this was a revenge movie, basically.

My rating of "Cinderella's Revenge" lands on a four out of ten stars.

More focus on bloodshed

Warning: Spoilers
The overall plot seemed a bit focused on all the bloodshed and even the revenge parts didn't seem like she really wanted revenge. It seemed more like Cinderella was focused on bloodshed and wanted to kill everyone.

The visuals were alright aside from these killing scenes and the choice of actors was good. It was ok ok if you can watch blood scenes but I would prefer a better way for revenge or an enhanced plot with a better revenge plan. It seemed like she was on a killing spree and didn't really have any specific plan to implement which would be much preferred.

A movie I'd not watch again probably due to all the blood stuff and violence.

so what's next ? popeye as a serial killer ?
theromanempire-11 May 2024
I remember around 40 years ago when angry parents protested against a slasher flick called silent night deadly night cause that film used santa as a serial killer so people thought that as an insult and protested as nothing is sacred anymore ?

I wonder what they are thinking today when legend kid icons like cinderella winnie and snowhite (snowhite had also a horror version years ago) are having their own horror versions.

When this madness with be stoped ?

When those $$$ makers will understand that we shouldn't mess with what made our kids happy in last 100 years or so ?

So what's next ?

Popeye as a serial killer ?

How about donald and mickey and goofy ?

Come on u beeps u can turn them too in to killers.

I'm sure your kids will love it.

How low this world will continue to go ?

Is there a bottom to the barell ?

WTF is going on ?

Warning: Spoilers
Traveled over 80 miles to see this movie in the nearest theater. Unfortunately it was a Regal. The movie takes risks that no one would expect a horror version of Cinderella to use. Natasha Henstridge is the real star as the Fairy Godmother. She takes it to a Whovian level, transcending Time and Space. Her morality is somewhat strained, as she is the one that incites Cinderella to exact the titular "Revenge". The kills are inspired, if a little tame visually. The Glam scene is not what you would expect . Tom Ford, Vidal Sassoon and Christian Louboutin outfit her. Of course the glass shoes have red bottoms. And instead of a carriage, Elon Musk transports her to the ball in an orange Tesla with Lambo doors. Of the henchmen has a scene out of a porn movie. And near the end the body double for Cinderella has one as well. Now let's see how crazy this August's "Cinderella's Curse" is.
