Recap: In ancient Greece, the amazons are at war with their nemesis, the powerful god of war Ares. The amazons are victorious, but just when the queen of the amazons are about to kill Ares, Zeus intervenes. As reward instead the amazons are given a secret island paradise and Ares as their prisoner. The centuries go by and the life of the amazons are not disturbed until an American fighter pilot crashes on their island. At the same time Ares escapes and heads for Washington to start a terrible war. The princess are sent to return the pilot and to hunt down Ares, who intends to make the downtown area into a battlefield from the Greek legends.

Comments: An animated movie not intended for kids, but maybe for teens or those who still enjoy their comics. It is rather violent, and not really subtle with sexual references. As one reporter in the movie put it "… a lot of supermodels in body armor". Perhaps the animators are a little too focused on this aspect, it gets a little exaggerated and a little tedious.

Otherwise it is some good entertainment, but perhaps you need to like those comics to appreciate the movie. The action is neither plausible nor realistic. It is full of magic and exaggerations, as adventure comics often are. But if you like those, you will very likely enjoy the movie version of it too.

Despite this being an animated movie it is nice to notice that there is a notable cast behind the voices. Keri Russel voices Diana, and it also features Nathan Fillon, Alfred Molina, Rosario Dawson, Virginia Madsen and a small part for personal favorite Oliver Platt.

Fun, entertaining and easy as it was to watch, it is also quickly forgettable. Enjoy while it lasts and move on.
