Sex & Nudity

- Relationships are a part of the human characters' mundane struggles.
- Occasional kiss scenes.
- The third rule of trollhunting is "when in doubt, go for the gronk-nuks." This is implied to mean hitting an opponent in the genitalia.
Violence & Gore

- Goblins explode into slime when killed, which is quite graphic.
- Changelings explode into dust when they die.
- The second rule of trollhunting is "always finish the fight" meaning kill your opponent. However, Jim sees the flaws of this rule.
- A high school kid says: "You broke my tooth. I'm gonna break your life. When I'm through with you, you're gonna wish you were dead".
- In part 3 there's very mild blood in two nose bleeds and a cut on the cheek if small amount of blood dripping from it.
- Creatures get turned to stone. It is implied that they die. At one point, a character turns to stone and is destroyed.
- Many fights with swords, fists, and other medieval weapons.
- A few chases on bikes or in cars.
- Two characters set up traps involving arrows, spears, and hammers in anticipation for a particular enemy.
- Death is referenced and presented as a threat from time to time, in a PG manner.
- Some of the violence is played for comedy.
Profanity

- A few uses of "god" throughout Season 1, and one use of "crap" in the second part of the pilot episode "Becoming" respectively.
- When Toby is not joking about his size or mentioning counting calories, dieting, losing weight, etc he's often pretty creepy/desperate around female characters including the Jim's own mom.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Trolls drink an unidentified liquid from mugs occasionally. It is implied to be alcoholic.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- In season 2 a cat is been eaten by white goblins. This is off screen, but it is pretty clear what is happening, and it can be a little creepy for small children.
- One character is an orphan who lives with his grandmother.
- Gunmar turns troll into Gumm-Gumms in a process implied to be permanent. Jim is sometimes forced to kill these converted trolls to protect those that remain.
- Sometimes it looks like a human is going to die but then a troll sacrifices themself to save the human.
- Occasional scenes where Jim is expected to kill an opponent but doesn't.
- There is a lot of fighting and action.
- Some of the main enemies may be frightening to younger viewers, as well as some of the trolls. Morgana and Gunmar may be especially scary.
- Occasionally characters may die, which may be sad/emotional for some viewers.
- The characters are subjected to peril in almost every episode, in a PG manner.
