So, I've just seen this a few years after release. Late night streaming and a lack of new things to watch.
There are faults - mostly in the budget and it doesn't take a lot of viewing to "see the joins".
I'm a Brit, so the subject matter's not offensive (it IS a film) and I am a horror enthusiast, so I can easily forgive some amateur/schoolboy errors.
It's a novel(ish) concept and setup, it's a shame I knew it was a horror going into it, because I think "the surprise" would have been more effective, but it starts getting signposted that "something's up" fairly early on, but it is an interesting premise, set in a part of the world too few of us are bothering to even try and understand.
There's some good performances here and there, especially amongst the South/Central Asian cast who give the strongest performances.
William Forsythe was really good, but under-used, Kristina Klebe also a good lead, but bizarrely manages to keep her make-up near immaculate, odd for a hostage.
Overall, worth a watch. If you enjoyed Outpost and won't "get upset" at the setup of it all, this might be worth your time.
