Super White Saviorism. There's not really what I'd call friendship because Tarec isn't really what I'd call a character. He's a prop for Ava to voice her opinions and fears on. She gives him a spot in her cold garage (instead of her couch), and a bike she doesn't care about, and whip-boom-bang, he's got his life together delivering for Caviar. Wow. White people saving the day again.
