Red starts off with a monologue about how sex has affected movies, and mimes a little boy at a monster film. Guest John Wayne does a skit about different sorts of autograph hunters and one where Deadeye faces Rooster Cogburn in a saloon duel. The silent spot, titled "The Happy Irish Pub", sees Red hired as a jig-dancing, furniture-smashing bouncer.

Red is a singing waiter at the turn of the century who tries to come up with some snappy new songs. But he and his partner (George Gobel) only succeed in causing chaos in the restaurant. Later, Red (as Clem Kadiddlehopper) and George (as Jed Dinglejumper), visit a country music producer and try to generate interest in their "songs." In "The Silent Spot," Red is a homeowner who must deal with the after-effects of a heavy morning snow.

Crooked Sheriff Deadeye (Red) is the local judge and jury who finds he must contend with Bertha Bluenose (Agnes Moorehead) when she and her band of social reformers visit his saloon. In "The Silent Spot," Red plays an exterminator who is summoned by a scientist and his concupiscent assistant to deal with some super hormonal mice.

In this parody of "Oliver Twist," Red plays a young inmate in an orphanage, who soon escapes the clutches of Mr Rumble (Cyril Ritchard) and meets up with the Artful Dodger (Jack Wild), a street urchin who shows him how to become a successful pickpocket. In "The Silent Spot," Red is a jovial toy maker who employs magical powers to repair broken toys.

As a present to his wife on their twentieth wedding anniversary, George Appleby (Red) decides to take his wife (Pat Carroll) to the same night club where they originally met. There, they meet Duke Ellington and another married couple. In "The Silent Spot," Red visits a bar in which a magic mirror somehow reflects the true character of the patrons.

Confidence man San Fernando Red is operating a phony school for spies. One of the female students tries to tell him about a pair of foreign spies who are planning on bringing a fatal end to Red's career. In "The Silent Spot," Red plays a conventioneer suffering in a hotel room with one whopper of a hangover.

Guest George Gobel answers a "Roommate Wanted" ad from Freddy the Freeloader, as he is sick and tired of his overbearing and ridiculously tidy spouse. But Freddy might turn out to be just as demanding. In "The Silent Spot," Red attends a class reunion, set sometime in the Roaring 20s.

Red and guest Cesar Romero appear as Bolivar Shagnasty and Butch, a pair of jailed convicts who effect an impromptu prison escape. In another sketch, Willie Lump Lump (Red) is a drunk who agrees to watch Clint Howard's juice stand, but ends up spiking the lemonade. Lastly, in "the Silent Spot," Red is Pops, a school crossing guard who is depressed when it seems no one cares that he is retiring.
