Definitely a show that doesn't take itself too seriously. First the bad. Characters are all pretty good but half of the actors aren't really that funny. Joel definitely carries the show, which is a shame because it would be a lot nicer to have a couple of actors that could carry the show if needed. A lot of the jokes just fall flat, some of it is writing, some of it directing, some of it the acting.
And good. Joel is great. Most of the scenes he is in are good. When the show is funny, it's absolutely hilarious. The show has a funny premise and sets up well.
As with most series it takes several episodes to start hitting its stride. If you're looking for something a little different, give it a shot.
