I rarely write reviews. This, however, was such a disappointing experience that I long to vent.

Holly, Fay, and Jenny were excellent actresses. I really enjoyed them.

The Karens! Omg, works of genius.

As a viewer, I got engaged in their characters, especially as they emotionally grew and responded to situations.

Ugh!! The main love interest, Steven, was a scrub who didn't even pay his own rent (or, at least, until later in season) while having an emotional affair ;and almost physical) with a 20-something.

To be honest, Alyson was beyond too good for him. She was referred to in the final episode as a woman of great integrity. He, by comparison, never demonstrated any growing of his character. She developed from a ball-buster cut-throat to having a bigger world view.

So I genuinely liked her and felt like she was treated shabbily.

If the producers wanted us to cheer Sally/Steven, they made a mistake in giving Alyson so much personal development.

That Steven was the great prize of both women (both who pay their own bills) is laughable.

Sally to be the other main prize is also a disappointment. Not that she is a lovely young lady, but her character is absolutely not particularly interesting.

To have Michael and Steven falling all over themselves for her is fatiguing.

Her best friend, Tash, even more of an interesting tagline and personality.

Even Max and Vince have character development and arc in their view points.

This collection of great talent and charming storyline setup was greatly mishandled.
