Quite nice but could be less predictable

Warning: Spoilers
Gosh, when you get to episode 7, you can really feel the hate for younger generations. Did they have to make Ashley's friends so one dimensional, cliché and just mean? Also, the miscommunication before Ashley ang Gordon got together in the first episodes was quite an overused trope. I get that he's uncomfortable about his health, but what a surprise, they get closer on the day of his medical exam and then, the exes reappear at that same time as well! Come on. Furthermore, I wish you didn't use the "crazy woman" trope with Yvette. We don't have to make her the crazy and needy woman just to make Ashley and Gordon look better. Even if you used the word "unhinged" instead. It's 2023, we're quite tired of this sexist trope. You can find a more realistic reason why the relationship didn't work out between Yvette and him. Besides that, the show's alright, quite wholesome. And I like the portrayal of the narcissist mum. But then, I wish it was more clearly implied that Ashley doesn't have to stay in contact with her family, if they're being toxic like that, even on birthdays and other celebrations. But at least, we got to see how sneaky and f-up narcissist parents can be. (I haven't made it past episode 7 yet).
